        Confucians’ Solicitude for Contemporary Environmental Crisis and Predicament

        本文的目的在於簡要陳明現代世界的環境危機和困境, 在於現代化的兩大巨輪的推動, 此即工業化和都市化。在兩大現代化作用下, 世人的身心都有所變異, 因而更加使環境危機深度化和廣度化, 世人的在世生存益加困頓。 古代儒家聖賢雖然生存於有機農業文明之中, 沒有現代化的生命經歷, 但正由於如此, 所以他們與天地以及其他生機很自然地融合為一體, 在儒學儒敎的經典中因此存在著天人和諧合一的觀念, 這個古代儒家的智慧, 實可作為對治當代日益嚴重的環境生態汙染破毁的危機而期望能夠改變世人的生活心態, 返回與天地和神明同洽共融的境地。 我們認為啟動儒家的天人哲學的啓蒙敎育是很要緊的事情。讓世人脫離理性主義啟蒙運動之典範而轉移到天人和諧合一的儒家典範, 是很有意義的環境倫理敎育。 Modernization pushes the world forward with its two giant wheels - industrialization and urbanization. The grand process radically alters the natural states of humans’ body and mind; it also continuously worsens the environmental crisis nowadays. In this sense, the situation of mankind is getting difficult each day. Being fostered mainly in pre-modern agriculture civilizations, ancient Confucianism was vividly featured by a form of organic holism advocating the ideal of the harmony between Heaven and human. This article aims at highlighting such an aspect of Confucianism in order to propose a possible therapy for our current predicament. We regard an educational movement of environmental-ethical enlightenment both significant and urgent - the one that is able to bring about the paradigm shift from modern rationalism to Confucian naturalism for the contemporary world.         Solar TDOA/Doppler Difference Joint Observation Navigation for the Approach Phase of Mars Exploration

        The celestial navigation using the difference between the direct and reflected solar light is emerging, as the difference can remove the conjoint bias caused by the instability and unpredictability of sunlight. These navigation methods include the solar Doppler difference and the solar TDOA (time difference of arrival). The solar TDOA measurement has a high positioning accuracy. However, the solar flare is unpredictable, which leads to the instability and randomness of the positioning performance in the approach phase. Fortunately, the solar Doppler difference navigation is stable. However, this navigation system is unobservable. To utilize their advantages and avoid their disadvantages, we combine them and propose the solar TDOA/Doppler difference joint observation. Due to its unobservability, we integrate it with the Mars angle navigation, and develop the solar light joint observation/Mars angle integrated navigation that is completely observable. The simulation results demonstrate the stability and robustness of the solar TDOA/Doppler difference joint observation navigation method. Compared with the celestial navigation using one solar difference observation such as the TDOA or the Doppler, the solar light joint observation/Mars angle integrated navigation can provide higher and more stable navigation accuracy.

        Laparoscopic hepatectomy for the treatment of Caroli’s disease: a case report

        Caroli disease is a rare congenital disorder characterized by nonobstructive dilatation of intrahepatic ducts. In cases with symptomatic intrahepatic manifestations, treatment should correspond to the type with hepatic resection for localized disease and transplantation for diffuse forms. If possible, complete resection of the cysts can cure the symptoms and avoid the risk of malignancy. A 66-year-old woman presented to Wuxi Xishan People's Hospital with recurrent intermittent upper quadrant abdominal pain. Further examinations suggested the diagnosis of Caroli disease limited to the left hepatic lobe. She underwent laparoscopic hepatectomy. Pathological examination confirmed the diagnosis of Caroli disease, and no malignancy was found. There were no immediate complications and no long-term complications after one and one-half years of follow-up. Laparoscopic hepatectomy could be a feasible, safe treatment option for localized Caroli disease

        Silencing downstream of receptor kinase gene (drk) impairs larval-pupal ecdysis in Leptinotarsa decemlineata (Say)

        In insects, an insulin-like peptide (ILP) triggers the formation of the insulin receptor (InR)/the insulin receptor substrate Chico complex. The complex then recruits downstream of receptor kinase (Drk) and phosphatidylinositol-3-kinase (PI3K) to initiate two signaling branches, i.e., Drk-mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) and Pi3K-protein kinase B subdivisions. Previous findings reveal that RNA interference (RNAi) of LdILP2 or Ldchico, rather than Ldpi3k92E, impairs larval-pupal and pupal-adult molting in the Colorado potato beetle Leptinotarsa decemlineata. It is accordingly hypothesized that the Drk-MAPK branch regulates larval metamorphosis. In the present paper, we first found that silencing LdILP2, Ldchico or Ldpi3k92E did not decrease the expression level of Lddrk, indicating other receptor tyrosine kinases’ signaling except insulin pathway is not affected in the RNAi larvae. Moreover, two InRs and Torso were highly expressed in the final larval instars. Furthermore, RNAi of either Lddrk or Ldchico, or both of them equally affected larval-pupal and pupal-adult molts, and similarly repressed the expression of representative MAPK (Ldras and Ldraf), ecdysteroidogenesis (Ldphm and Ldsad), and 20E signaling (LdEcR, LdUSP, LdHR3 and LdE75) genes. 20E feeding by Lddrk RNAi larvae completely restored the reduced mRNA levels of LdEcR, LdHR3 and LdE75, but did not rescued the decreased Lddrk and LdUSP levels and the lowered pupation and emergence rates. Therefore, our findings suggest that the Drk-MAPK branch is involved in metamorphosis regulation in L. decemlineata.

        The Interaction Design Principles about Page Layout of Over-the-counter Blockchain Transaction

        Objective: To study the user"s visual behavioral habits of Over-the-counter Blockchain transaction webpages. Background: With the continuous development of the blockchain, a large number of users conduct off-exchange transactions on the exchange"s website, and the user experience is not very well. Method: Through the eye tracker experiment test and the software (BeGaze) analysis data, as well as the post-experimental questionnaire survey analysis and user interviews, the data is finally integrated and analyzed, and the user"s over-the-counter transaction in the blockchain exchange is obtained. Visual behavioral habits on the web. (1) The scope of the study included the user"s visual behavioral habits on the web side of the blockchain exchange. (2) Research methods include: quantitative research, qualitative research. Results: (1) Total eye data were analyzed by independent sample t test, as shown in total eye data. There were significant differences in the number of fixation points and average fixation time between the two pictures; (2) The average number of fixation points of adversary"s information area of both tests is obviously higher than the standard deviation, and the standard value of average fixation time is also significantly higher than the standard deviation; (3) The user"s demand for the adversary"s information area is very low; (4) Users think data is their most urgent need; (5) The heat map shape presents the shape of the waterfall; (6) The eye movement trajectory of most users shows that the user first scans in the vertical direction, then scans in the horizontal direction, and decreases from the top to the bottom. Conclusion: Five results were obtained through research and analysis, weakening adversary"s information, data emphasis, important rules for arrangement of different areas, the arrangement of sequence numbers, waterfall shape visual glance behavior. Application: The results of this study can be used for the layout guidance of the network side of the OTC transaction of the blockchain exchange, which can improve the service experience of the user on the exchange.

        Microstructure and electrical properties of La_2O_3-doped Bi_0.5(Na_0.68K_0.22Li_0.1)_0.5TiO_3 lead-free piezoelectric ceramics

        La_2O_3-doped Bi_0.5(Na_0.68K_0.22Li_0.1)_0.5TiO_3 lead-free piezoelectric ceramics have been successfully prepared by conventional solid state method and the effects of La_2O_3 doping on microstructure and electrical properties of the ceramics were investigated. The X-ray diffraction patterns demonstrated all ceramics possessed pure perovskite structure with rhombohedral symmetry. The temperature dependence of dielectric constant and dielectric loss revealed two abnormal dielectric peaks of T_d and T_m,which implied that from room temperature to 500 ℃ all ceramics underwent two phase transitions which were from ferroelectric to anti-ferroelectric and anti-ferroelectric to paraelectric, respectively. It was also found that the transition temperature T_d decreased with the addition of La_2O_3. Diffuse phase transition and frequency dispersion of the dielectric constant were observed in all ceramics. Dielectric relaxor behavior obeyed the modified Curie―Weiss law. The results revealed that all samples had relaxor characteristics. In addition, for the ceramics with 0.1 wt.% La_2O_3, optimized electrical properties were obtained, which were as follows: ε_r = 1254 (1 kHz), tan δ = 0.0483, d_33 = 192 pC/N, K_p = 0.27,P_r = 29.1 μC/cm^2, and E_c = 29.0 kV/cm.

      • Research on EEG Recognition Algorithm Based on SVM Classifier

        As more and more insight into the human brain, EEG is not only for application, processing and analysis of EEG in science and engineering field, it will also be very important in the physical, psychological and pathological studies in humans. The EEG brain - machine interface technologies to achieve the human brain and the computer or other human interface devices to communicate and control, it can provide a special kind of information exchange and live entertainment, is also disabled and a new way of control. In this paper, the collection of information preprocessing electroencephalogram (EEG) signals is proposed wavelet packet transform feature extraction method, using SVM classifier, classification based on the operation mode to achieve recognition of the EEG signal. For different individuals turn, the next turn, show fist, fist four kinds of hand motion recognition experiments show that the average recognition rate of over 80%, significantly better than the other methods to identify results.

        Three Component Solvent-free Synthesis of Chroman-2,4-dione-based Heterocyclic Ketene Aminal (HKA) Derivatives by “GAP” Chemistry

        A concise and efficient one-pot synthesis of chroman-2,4-dione-based HKA derivatives by three component reaction of HKAs, triethoxymethane and 4-hydroxycoumarin derivatives under solvent-free and catalyst-free conditions is described. This protocol has many advantages, in that the GAP (Group-Assistant-Purification) chemistry process is involved in this method. As a result, the experimenter can avoid cumbersome process steps such as traditional chromatography and recrystallization purifications. The desired products can be easily obtained by washing the crude products with 95% EtOH.

        Seismic response and failure analyses of pile-supported transmission towers on layered ground

        Transmission towers have come to represent one of the most important infrastructures in today’s society, which may suffer severe earthquakes during their service lives. However, in the conventional seismic analyses of transmission towers, the towers are normally assumed to be fixed on the ground without considering the effect of soil-structure interaction (SSI) on the pile-supported transmission tower. This assumption may lead to inaccurate seismic performance estimations of transmission towers. In the present study, the seismic response and failure analyses of pile-supported transmission towers considering SSI are comprehensively performed based on the finite element method. Specifically, two detailed finite element (FE) models of the employed pile-supported transmission tower with and without consideration of SSI effects are established in ABAQUS analysis platform, in which SSI is simulated by the classical p-y approach. A simulation method is developed to stochastically synthesize the earthquake ground motions at different soil depths (i.e. depth-varying ground motions, DVGMs). The impacts of SSI on the dynamic characteristic, seismic response and failure modes are investigated and discussed by using the generated FE models and ground motions. Numerical results show that the vibration mode shapes of the pile-supported transmission towers with and without SSI are basically same; however, SSI can significantly affect the dynamic characteristic by altering the vibration frequencies of different modes. Neglecting the SSI and the variability of earthquake motions at different depths may cause an underestimate and overestimate on the seismic responses, respectively. Moreover, the seismic failure mode of pile-supported transmission towers is also significantly impacted by the SSI and DVGMs.

        Assessment Method of Slope Excavation Quality based on Point Cloud Data

        Slope excavation quality assessment is essential in water conservancy engineering. This study presents a quality assessment method to estimate the excavation quality of a slope based on point cloud data obtained from a 3D Terrestrial Laser Scanner (TLS). A data processing method, which includes coordinate registration, data partitioning, and noise removal, is proposed to organize raw data from the TLS and ensure accurate and available point cloud data of a slope surface. An excavation quality assessment method with seven indicators, namely, slope ratio, slope toe elevation, back break, volume of back break, remained semi-void rate, unevenness, and offset degree, is proposed to analyze the difference between a slope’s as-design excavation appearance and actual construction appearance. The as-design excavation appearance is expressed by the Building Information Modeling (BIM) model of a slope-excavation face, and it is a reference to assess the actual construction appearance. The slope excavation quality of a water conservancy project in southwest China is evaluated with the proposed method and the traditional method. The results demonstratethat the proposed method can estimate the slope excavation quality effectively, rapidly, and accuately, and can provide theoretical data support for subsequent work.
