Recently, GMAHN that provides interface between MANET and Wired Network has been focused in Mobile Communication. It is necessary that The technology provide reliable data transmission technology between mobile node and wired network in MANET environment that varing by the node movement. In this paper, using the TCP protocol(Tahoe, Reno, Vegas, SACK)that increases reliability between source and destination, we applied the TCP protocol mechanism to various environment, and compared result, and also proposed the efficient TCP mechanism by comparing each mechanism.
다량 토혈 후 발생한 뇌경색으로 인하여 간질증첩증을 보인 간성 뇌증 1예

Status epilepticus (SE) has been described as a rare manifestation of hepatic encephalopathy. Massive bleeding and subsequent anemia may precipitate atherothrombotic cerebral infarction. Stroke is one of the possible causes of SE. A 69-year-o1d male with decompensated alcoholic liver cirrhosis presented with altered mental state and generalized convulsive SE after massive hematemesis due to varix bleeding. The hemoglobin level was 5.5 mg/dL and blood ammonia level was more than twice the normal level. The seizure was resolved after prompt and aggressive treatment for SE. The blood ammonia level was normalized after treatment for hepatic encephalopathy, but the patient' s mental state was not recovered. Brain MRI revealed multiple ischemic lesions in the both cerebral hemisphere. We present the patient as SE after acute ischemic stroke associated with anemia in hepatic encephalopathy.

In this Paper, we studied the mechanism that increases the network reliability and decreases network load in GMAHN environment based on the AODV routing protocol. This proposed algorithm is the research on the algorithm, minimizing network overhead by preventing unnecessary network overhead previously and adapting Local repair mechanism to efficient data transmission when route error happens in network, in GMAHN environment. To evaluate the proposed algorithm's performance, we analyzed the proposed algorithm and adapting in various experiment environment according to 5 experiment viewpoint such as node movement, gateway network zone, mobile node number, flow number. After evaluating the experiment, we confirmed better network improvement altogether through following result such as total average data reception rate's increase, average data transmission time's decrease, network overhead's decrease than existing GMAHN algorithm.

The human proteomics-based approaches, which examine the expressed proteins of a tissue or cell type, are increasingly being used. Venous occlusion is commonly employed for stimulating tissue-plasminogen activator (t-PA) and plasminogen activator inhibitor-1 (PAI-l) release from venous endothelial cells, and this has been regarded as a parameter of the individual fibrinolytic capacity of plasma. The present work involved a detailed investigation of the plasma proteome and fibrinolytic activity in normal subjects, with the aim of determining whether correlations exist between various parameters of the fibhnolytic system before and after venous occlusion. We analyzed fibhnolytic parameters and plasma proteome before and after 15-min periods of venous occlusion in the forearm in 10 healthy 3rd-decade volunteers. Proteome analysis was performed using two-dimensional gels. The tryptic digests of some proteins were confirmed by MALDI-TOF and the MS-Fit algorithm. The fibrinolytic response as measured by the absolute amount of t-PA after venous occlusion was increased by venous occlusion (5.5 vs 9.6 ng/㎗, p<0.05), as was PAI-l (46.8 vs 56.1 ng/㎗, p<0.05). However, two-dimensional electrophoresis finding was virtually nonspecific and inconsistent after venous occlusion in healthy male subjects. Venous occlusion does not influence plasma proteome in healthy males. Although the fibhnolytic response to venous occlusion is attributed to an increase in free tUPA antigen, this change is not correlated with plasma proteome.

This study was performed to investigate improvements in diabetes mellitus by extracts of yacon in streptozotocin (STZ)-induced diabetic rats. Fifty rats were divided into a normal group and four experimental groups. STZ (45 ㎎/㎏) was injected intraperitoneally to induce type I diabetes in the four experimental groups. Yacon extracts were administered for 5 weeks. Forty-five ICR mice were also divided into one positive control group and four experimental groups for the oral glucose tolerance test (OGTT) after fed yacon extract. The control group did not eat any yacon extracts, while Group 1 (GI) was fed 125 ㎎/㎏ of yacon extracts, Group 2 (GII) was fed 250 ㎎/㎏ of yacon extracts, and Group 3 (GIII) was fed 500 ㎎/㎏ of yacon extracts. After treatment for 5 weeks, blood glucose in GIII group showed decreased tendency at the 5 week. In OGTT by glucose, the glucose level of yacon treatment group in diabetic rats was significantly decreased compared to the glucose level of the control group, but there was no difference in OGTT by maltose. In ICR mice, the glucose level of the experimental group in OGTT by maltose was significantly decreased compared to the control group. The area of the islets of Langerhans was increased by yacon treatment in a dose-dependent manner on diabetic rats. Insulin concentration of the GIII group was also decreased compared to the control group, while the concentration of fructosamine, total cholesterol, and triglycerides in serum showed no difference. OGTT by glucose or maltose in ICR mice or diabetic rats, area of the Islets of Langerhans, and insulin concentration improved. Yacon treatment may be a useful therapeutic and preventive strategy for diabetes mellitus.

<P>The characteristics of the dry etching of<SUB>SiNx</SUB>:H thin films for display devices using SF6/O2and NF3/O2were investigated using a dual-frequency capacitively coupled plasma reactive ion etching (CCP-RIE) system. The investigation was carried out by varying the RF power ratio (13.56 MHz/2 MHz), pressure, and gas flow ratio. For the<SUB>SiNx</SUB>:H film, the etch rates obtained using NF3/O2were higher than those obtained using SF6/O2under various process conditions. The relationships between the etch rates and the usual monitoring parameters—the optical emission spectroscopy (OES) intensity of atomic fluorine (685.1 nm and 702.89 nm) and the voltages<SUB>VH</SUB>and<SUB>VL</SUB>—were investigated. The OES intensity data indicated a correlation between the bulk plasma density and the atomic fluorine density. The etch rate was proportional to the product of the OES intensity of atomic fluorine(I(F))and the square root of the voltages(<SUB>Vh</SUB>+<SUB>Vl</SUB>)on the assumption that the velocity of the reactive fluorine was proportional to the square root of the voltages.</P>
Risk factors for mortality in patients with septic pulmonary embolism

<P>Data regarding prognostic factors for patients with septic pulmonary embolism (SPE) are lacking. The purpose of the present study was to investigate the clinical features of SPE and to ascertain the risk factors for mortality in patients with this condition. Patients with SPE, whose data were retrospectively collected from a tertiary referral center in Korea, were categorized by the presence or absence of in-hospital death into two groups: death and survival groups. The two groups were compared for clinical and radiologic parameters. SPE was community-acquired in most patients (78%). The most common focus of primary infection was that of bone, joint, or soft tissue (33%), followed by liver abscess (17%). The in-hospital mortality was 12%. Multivariate analysis showed that tachypnea (odds ratio [OR] 4.73, 95% confidence interval [CI] 1.09 20.53, p = 0.038) and segmental or lobar consolidation on computed tomography (CT) scan (OR 10.79, 95% CI 2.51-46.43, p = 0.001) were independent predictors of in-hospital death in SPE patients. Taken together, the primary infectious foci of SPE in Korea are different from those reported in Western countries. Tachypnea and segmental or lobar consolidation on CT scan may be independent risk factors for in-hospital death in these patients. Improved Production of Heme Porphyrins in Bacillus megaterium by a Cumate-inducible Promoter

Heme is a porphyrin derivative consisting of ferrous iron and protoporphyrin IX, hemoglobin. In the food industry, heme derivatives can be used as a food additive for improving color and flavor of alternative meat products. Bacillus megaterium is one of the heme-producing microorganisms with the biosynthetic pathways including hemAXCBDL operon. To increase production of heme porphyrins in B. megaterium, we overexpressed the hemAXCBDL operon by replacing the native promoter in the chromosome with a synthetic cumate-inducible strong promoter. Since the first enzyme of the operon, HemA, acts as a major control point of the pathway, we also introduced a stable version of HemA mutant containing two lysine residues (HemAkk) into the integration cassette. The resulting recombinant strain of B. megaterium harboring the newly constructed hemAkkXCBDL operon in the genome exhibited increased production of heme porphyrins after cumate induction.
