Loy, Nicole S. Y.,Choi, Subin,Kim, Sunggak,Park, Cheol-Min The Royal Society of Chemistry 2016 Chemical communications Vol.52 No.46

Cationic gold complexes of alpha-oximimino carbenes have been identified to react with weak nucleophiles including enol ethers and nitriles. These findings allowed us to develop the highly efficient synthesis of pyrroles and oxazoles.

Creativity of Successful Business People in Korea
이순묵,Jungeun Lee,Nicole Y. Kim 대한사고개발학회 2004 The International Journal of Creativity & Problem Vol.14 No.2
In the present study we investigated the creativity of successful people in Korean business settings. One hundred twenty seven people who demonstrated successful performance in the Korean society were selected first by a committee of experts. Reading and evaluating the scripts describing their life and performance, authors selected 43 most creative business people and collected 109 behavioral and per-sonality characteristics. These were used to collect data for factor analysis. Eight factors were estimated: four of which representing leadership dimensions and the other four representing creativity dimensions. The latter included drive for achie-vement, free spirit, carrying out to new directions, and intrinsic motivation. We ex-amined how they were related to five other creativity scales: self-rating scale we developed, divergent thinking ability test (Torrance, 1990), Gough’s (1979) cre-ative personality scale, Hurt-Joseph’s (1977) innovativeness scale, and Kirton’s (1976) adaption-innovation inventory. Our four factors were consistent with peo-ple’s self-concept of creativity. Carrying out to new directions was the only signi-ficant personality factor predicting cognitive creativity. Our four factors were well related to other creative personality scales, especially the first dimensions (cre-ativity, innovativeness, originality) of the three personality scales were well explained by our four factors, suggesting commonality between Korean and We-stern culture in regards to typical description of creative personality.

Criminology has been understood within a sociological framework until the emergence of neurocriminology, which describes, understands and predicts criminal behaviors from a neurobiological point of view. Not only using biological factors including genes and hormones to understand criminal behaviors, but also using neuroimaging techniques, the field of neurocriminology aims to delve into both structural and functional differences in the brain of individuals with aggression, antisocial personalities, and even the criminals. Various studies have been conducted based on this idea, however, there still are limitations for the knowledge from these studies to be used in the court. In this review article, we provide an overview of the various research in neurocriminology, and provide insight into the future direction and implication of the field.
