Lorazepam과 Diphenhydramine 의 추제외로증후군에 대한 효과비교

In this study, a comparative evaluation on clinical efficacy between intravenous lorazepam and diphenhydramine for extrapyramidal symptoms occurring on neuroleptic therapy was made. Subjects were consisted of 42 cases including 8 males and 34 females. They were under double-blind procedure, given single injections of 4 miligrams of lorazepam(21 cases) and 50 miligrams of diphenhydramine(21 cases) seperately. The effects were evaluated by Extrapyramidal Symptoms(EPS) Rating Scale for extrapyramidal Symptoms as well as by the Brief Psychiatric Rating Scale(BPRS) for psychotic symptoms and signs. The results were as follows: 1)Most of extrapyramidal symptoms including parkinsonian symptoms, akathisia and dystonia were noted to be significantly improved 60 minutes after injection on EPS Rating Scale scores. 2)BPRS evaluation 60 minutes after injection resulted in significant reduction of the total mean scores in both groups, although no significant difference can be made in terms of efficacy between the group when the two groups were compared. 3)Clinically it can be suggested that the sedative effect of diphenhydramine was less than that of lorazepam. The above mentioned results suggest that lorazepam and diphenhydramine may well be the drugs of choice for the treatment of extrapyramidal symptoms occurring on the neuroleptic therapy.

Emissions of air pollutants (TSP, SO2, NO2, CO, and HC) was estimated in Changwon city that has the industrial complex and basin terrain. We found that the emissions of TSP, SO2, NO2, CO, and HC were 897 tons, 3,287 tons, 5,706 tons, 10,057 tons, and 1,470 tons for a year, respectively and the main source of air pollutants were vehicle. The ratios of vehicle emissions to total emissions ware TSP 63.8%, SO2 26.1%, NO2 65.5%, CO 91.0%, HC 94.4%. The ratios of industry emissions to total emissions were TSP 30.8%, SO2 60.2%, NO2 25.2%, CO 6.4%, HC 3.7%. The ratio of life emissions to total emissions are TSP 5.4%, SO2 13.7%, NO2 9.3%, CO 2.6%, HC 1.9%. The concentration distributions of air pollutants simulated by ISCST3 model were similar to its emission distributions, and relatively high concentrations of air pollutants occurred in the Palyong-dong (industrial area) and Banlim and Chungang (residual area).

This study was carried out to investigate the genotypic diversity of PCV2 and co-infection of PCV3 in the hilar lymph nodes of 700 randomly-selected slaughter pigs. Fourteen samples per each farm were obtained from 50 farms between February and August in 2022. Of the 50 farms, 44 farms that had been positive for PCV2 by RT-PCR were genotyped. As a result of PCV2 genotyping, positive rate of PCV2 DNA was 62.3% (436/700). Among the PCV2 DNA-positive samples, positive rate of a single PCV2 genotype was 79.1% (345/436), while multiple PCV2 genotypes were only detected in 20.9% (91/436). Of the 436 single infection cases, PCV2d genotype was most prevalent. Positive rates of PCV2 and PCV3 were 53.6% and 26.0% at the sample level, 5.1% and 8.0% at the farm level, respectively. And the co-positive rate of two viruses was 8.7% (61/700) at the sample level, 62.0% (31/50) at the farm level. These results demonstrate that PCV2 prevalence in slaughter pigs is very high and co-infection between different PCV2 genotypes and between PCV2 and PCV3 is relatively common. Therefore, genetic diversity and co-infection between other porcine circoviruses should be consistently monitored in the future.

Epistaxis is defined as active bleeding arising from the nasal mucosa. It constitutes one of the most common otolaryngology emergencies and can be severe or even fatal. Hemostasis is a process which causes bleeding to stop, meaning to keep blood within a damaged blood vessel which involves differential sequential events. This system in humans has been the most extensively researched. However, lot of research work is going on and lot more needs to be done to overcome the problem associated with this serious issue. This study was conducted to develop a new sponge type of biomaterial to be used for ideal hemostatic agent. The combination of three biomaterials; Silk fibroin (SF), Hyaluronic acid (HA), Gelatin (Gel) and Polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) as proposed hemostatic agent were tested against commercially available hemostatic pad (ChitoClot®). A comparative study of these silk based hemostasis agents designed in combination of SF/HA/PVA and SF/Gel/PVA sponges were tested on injured model of rats. Each sponge to be tested was made same size of (1×1 cm) then applied on top of injury site while applying a pressure of 5 N for 30 seconds. The In vivo experiments were carried by creating a proximal arterial injury in unilateral femoral arteries of 12 anesthetized SD rats. In conclusion, this study suggest a new developed silk fibroin-based sponges as hemostatic materials, which induced durable hemostasis and an increased blood clotting in animal studies. These initial studies explores the loopholes present in the existing ChitoClot® pad compared with that of fabricated silkbased sponges.

The purpose of this study was to make nutritious cookies with black rice powder and investigate the effects of the black rice powder on the quality of cookies. Black rice powder was added in the paste for the cookies discriminating the ratio of substitution; 0%, 20%, 40%, 60% of wheat flour. For analyzing quality characteristics density and pH of the paste, spread factors and texture of cookies were measured. The density and pH of the paste with black rice powders were higher than those of control group and gumminess and brittleness of cookies with black rice powder were lower than control group. In the sensory evaluation, cookies with black rice powder showed significantly higher scores in texture than control group and the one added 60% black rice powder showed the highest score. In colors, aroma, flavors and overall acceptability, cookies with black rice powder showed significantly higher scores than control group.
Contrast Echocardiography in the early Diagnosis of Pulmonary Arteriovenous Malformations

Pulmonary arteriovenous malformations are rare congenital anomaly in the lung which causes shunting of venous blood in the pulmonary artery to systemic circulation, associated with hereditary hemorrhagic telangiectasia in the majority of cases and often presenting with dyspnea or major neurological complications due to paradoxic embolism. This case shows that contrast enhanced echocardiography is a useful diagnostic tool for the patient with undiagnosed of progressive dyspnea and cyanosis.
