The purpose of this study is to investigate the relation to the lifestyle, perceived time pressure and time management strategies of Housewives. For the purpose of this study, 585 questionnaire were distributed to women who married Housewives in Pusan, All the analysis were done by spss program. The significant results are as follow : 1. According to the employment status, there were several differences among those life-styles which is influencing to the perceived time pressure. 2. According to the employment status, there were differences among those lifestyle which is influencing to the time management strategies. 3. Independent variables about the time management strategies of women who married showed lifestyle(β=.46), age(β=-.18), income(β=.15), perceived Time pressure(β=.12), education level(β=.07).
주부의 자아실현성과 의사결정유형 및 결혼만족도에 관한 연구

The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship of housewives' self-actualization, decision-making and marital satisfaction, so that the findings may offer them fundamental materials for the more resonable home management. The major findings can be summarized as follows: (1) According to the background variables there were some difference among the housewives' self-actualization, decision-making, marital satisfaction. (2) Decision-making style marital satisfaction differs significantly according to the degrees of housewives' self-actualization. The higher level of housewives' self-actualization, the higher degree of marital joint decision-making and marital satisfaction. (3) Marital satisfaction differs significantly according to the decision-making style, for subfield were clothes, food, house, economy, family, rest field. (4) After analyzing the correlation of the housewives' self-actualization, decision-making and marital satisfaction, it showed positive correlation. Therefore the higher level of housewives' self-actualization, the higher degree of wife-oriented decision-making style, joint decision-making style and marital satisfaction.

Background: The study on retinal blood flow has been continuously pursued and recently new methods such as targeted dye delivery, fluorescent vesicle system, laser Doppler velocimetry and acridine orange staining method has been presented. The authors developed a new method, fluorescein leukocyte angiography using a scanning laser ophthalmoscope which include external staining of leukocyte with fluorescein dye and reintroducing this fluorescent leukocyte into the blood flow. However, visualization of the leukocytes was limited since the leukocytes used were from the peripheral blood in a small animal. Methods: The authors removed leukocytes from the spleen and stained these leukocytes which were reintroduced into the blood flow to observe the retinal and choroidal blood circulation. In four pair of rats, one group was injected with the leukocytes of another rat's spleen and the other group were injected with the leukocytes of each own's individual spleen and all underwent angiography. Results: There were only few lymphocytes visualized in the group of rats which eceived allo-injection of leukocytes and in the other group the lymphocytes were numerous and also had a longer existence. Conclusions: In small animals like rats the visualization of the lymphocytes used from the spleen was better than the those from the peripheral blood and lymphocytes from one own's spleen was useful for longer periods of visualization.

Amyloid beta (Aβ)-induced neurotoxicity is a major pathological mechanism of Alzheimer`s disease (AD). In this study, we investigated the inhibitory effect of L-theanine, a component of green tea (Camellia sinensis) on Aβ1-42-induced neurotoxicity and oxidative damages of macromolecules. L-theanine inhibited Aβ1-42-induced generation of reactive oxygen species, and activation of extracellular signal-regulated kinase and p38 mitogenic activated protein kinase as well as the activity of nuclear factor kappa- B. L-theanine also significantly reduced oxidative protein and lipid damage, and elevated glutathione level. Consistent with the reduced neurotoxic signals, L-theanine (10-50 μg/ml) concomitantly attenuated Aβ1-42 (5 μM)-induced neurotoxicity in SK-N-MC and SK-N-SH human neuroblastoma cells. These data indicate that L-theanine on Aβ-induced neurotoxicity prevented oxidative damages of neuronal cells, and may be useful in the prevention and treatment of neurodegenerative disease like AD.

<P><B>Abstract</B></P><P>Obesity is a major health problem worldwide and can increase the risk for several chronic diseases, including diabetes and cardiovascular disease. In this study, we screened small compounds isolated from natural products for the development of an anti-obesity drug. Among them, idesolide, a spiro compound isolated from the fruits of <I>Idesia polycarpa</I> Maxim, showed a significant suppression of the adipogenic differentiation in mesenchymal cells, as indicated by the decrease in fat droplets and expression of adipogenic marker genes such as aP2 and adiponectin. Idesolide inhibits the PPARγ-mediated gene transcription in a dose-dependent manner, revealed by luciferase reporter gene assay. During adipogenic differentiation, idesolide inhibits nitric oxide production through the suppression of iNOS expression, and the increased adipogenic differentiation by arginine, the substrate for NOS, is significantly inhibited by idesolide, suggesting that the inhibition of nitric oxide production plays a major role in idesolide-induced adipogenic suppression. Taken together, the results reveal that idesolide has anti-adipogenic activity and highlight its potential in the prevention and treatment of obesity.</P>

As commercialization of the Arctic sea route and resource developments are regularized, demands for ice-breaking tankers, LNG carriers, and offshore plants are expected to increase. In addition, the existing ice-breaking cargo ships navigating in the ice-covered waters are worn out. Hence, the construction of new ships is likely to be undertaken for both current and long-term applications. The design of ships navigating in ice-covered waters demands conservative methods and strict development standards owing to the extreme cold and collision tendencies with ice floes and/or icebergs. ISO 19906 recently stated that a fatigue limit should be defined when designing Arctic offshore structures such that the ice-induced fatigue becomes one of the important design drivers. Thus, establishing systematic measures to mitigate ice-induced fatigue problems in ice-breaking ships are important from the viewpoint of having a competitive advantage. In this paper, the issues relating to ice-induced fatigue problems, based on data and published literature, are examined to describe the criticality of ice-induced fatigue. Potential fatigue damage possibilities are investigated using data measured in the Arctic Ocean (2013) and using the Korean icebreaker, ARAON.

<P>Osteoporosis is a degenerative bone disease characterized by low bone mass and is caused by an imbalance between osteoblastic bone formation and osteoclastic bone resorption. It is known that the bioactive compounds present in green tea increase osteogenic activity and decrease the risk of fracture by improving bone mineral density. However, the detailed mechanism underlying these beneficial effects has yet to be elucidated. In this study, we investigated the osteogenic effect of (−)-epicatechin gallate (ECG), a major bioactive compound found in green tea. We found that ECG effectively stimulates osteoblast differentiation, indicated by the increased expression of osteoblastic marker genes. Up-regulation of osteoblast marker genes is mediated by increased expression and interaction of the transcriptional coactivator with PDZ-binding motif (TAZ) and Runt-related transcription factor 2 (RUNX2). ECG facilitates nuclear localization of TAZ through PP1A. PP1A is essential for osteoblast differentiation because inhibition of PP1A activity was shown to suppress ECG-mediated osteogenic differentiation. Taken together, the results showed that ECG stimulates osteoblast differentiation through the activation of TAZ and RUNX2, revealing a novel mechanism for green tea-stimulated osteoblast differentiation.</P>
