Vol.0 No.18
The author gives a brief overview over the recent global ecological crisis, shows the churches responsibility concerning this crisis, and makes suggestions what society, church, and theology could do for the protection of the natural environment. At first, the author shows how the recent global ecological crisis evolved since the end of the Second World War and argues that it has a new quality, as for the first time in history, survival of humankind is threatened through humans themselves. In the third chapter, the author discusses the challenge, the ecological crisis poses to church and theology. Despite various obstacles in finding a proper response to the crisis, he argues for a swift and strong reaction and urges radical changes in our theological understanding of the Bible. The next chapter gives examples for general attitudes and patterns of behaviour in Korean society that have a negative impact on the ecology and makes suggestions what citizens and politicians could do for a more efficient protection of the natural environment. In the fifth chapter, some concrete practical suggestions are given, how theology and church should respond to the ecological crisis.

Over the last decades, there has been a significant stage migration in renal cell carcinoma and especially older patients are getting diagnosed more frequently with low stage disease, such as small renal masses ≤4 cm of size. Considering the particular risk profile of an older population, often presenting with a nonnegligible comorbidity profile and progressive renal dysfunction, treatment approaches beyond aggressive radical surgical procedures have come to the fore. We sought to give a contemporary overview of the available different treatment strategies for incidental small renal masses in an elderly population with the focus on comparative oncological outcomes of nonsurgical and surgical modalities.

The general elections for the lower house of the Indian parliament, the Lok Sabha, in1977 marked a double transition for the country’s political development. After a21-month period of emergency government, imposed in June 1975, the elections signalleda return to the democratic rules of the political game and at the same time they effected asignificant change of government at the national level for the first time in postindependenceIndia. The 1977 general elections seemed, according to most scholarly andjournalistic assessments, to have been a resounding ‘vote for freedom’ and to haveushered in an era of democratic revival. Until today a more systematic evaluation of thepower of the various competing explanations advanced for the 1977 results seems to bewanting. Based on the analysis of available data, this article finds that the 1977 vote onthe whole was less a ‘vote for freedom’ or democracy and against the oppressiveEmergency regime, but rather the result of successful collaboration of a number of formeropposition parties and the consequent reduction in the fragmentation of the anti-Congress vote.
Two Suggestions for a Reform of Christian Education in South Korea
2016 Journal of Christian education information tech Vol.0 No.29
This paper analyzes the present crisis of Protestantism in South Korea and makes two suggestions for a reform of Christian Education. The first proposal addresses the crisis of Confucian social order. The author explains the difference between Christian ethics and Confucian order. He suggests the initiation of a process of study, practice, and teaching of Christian Ethics within the congregations. In his second proposal, he criticizes the low standard of academic theological education for pastors. He suggests making five or six years of theological studies a precondition for ordination. Thus, pastor candidates would study theology at both the Bachelor and Master levels, and theological school faculties could reform the curricula into a two-step process with an emphasis on the old languages, scientific methods, and the classical concepts of theology at the Bachelor level, and an emphasis on Practical Theology and the development of a modern Korean theology in the Master course.
Time Irreversibility in Economic Theory: A Conceptual Discussion
1989 Seoul journal of economics Vol.2 No.2
This paper tries to clarify the role time irreversibility plays in several areas of economics. To this end three types of time irreversibility and several conceptual elements of economic analysis are introduced such as Boundary Conditions, Objectives, Procedural Rationality. These are used to typify various economic schools of thought and to examine the roles of time irreversibility in the various schools. Some of these conceptual elements are then combined to give a framework for the analysis of long-term economic development, involving invention, production and interactions with the environment.
