An Analysis of the Unpaid Insurance benefits problem in Japan
( Mahito Okura ) 한국손해사정학회 2009 손해사정연구 Vol.2 No.-
The unpaid insurance benefits problem in Japan is a typical problem that engenders a lack of confidence in insurance companies. The unpaid insurance benefits problem can be defined as the problem where insurance companies do not pay the insurance benefits they are obliged to pay without good reason. In other words, insurance companies take advantage of the loss-adjustment process to reduce their insurance benefits payments. The purpose of this study is to provide an overview of the unpaid insurance benefits problem in Japan and to outline the main features of the relapse prevention plans submitted by insurance companies. Furthermore, given these explanations, a theoretical analysis is conducted to shed light on the effect of introducing new underwriters`s alary schedules that abolish excessive incentives for getting new insurance contracts and introduce new incentives for maintaining in-force insurance contracts.

This is a case study of an ECEC teacher’s narrative of her subjective world, relative to “slide and mud play” at an ECEC center. The purpose of this study was to reconstruct the teacher’s understanding of play based on her own narratives of interactive time with young children, to examine the narratives from the perspective of living through E-series time, and to approach the meaning of play describing the experienced reality of the teacher. This study is based on an interview with the ECEC teacher Kana, who was involved with children’s play as an assistant teacher at the ECEC center. Kana’s five narratives were qualitatively analyzed. This study concluded that the rise of meaningful play occurs from the perspective of intersubjectivity between the relationship between the ECEC teacher and the child who creates the actual time. Kana’s narratives in this study are likely to lead to the creation of companionship between them, which, in turn, leads to the ECEC teacher’s realization of meaningful play.

Brathing oxygen under high pressure increases the concentration of oxygen in the blood and reduces hypoxia. Hyperbaric oxygen(HBO) is useful in treating many diseases. It is used orthopedics, for example, to treat anaerobic gas gangrene. At our hospital good results were obtained using it adjunctively to the surgical and antibiotic treatment of soft tissue infections (including aerobic infections).
What is the Role of Co-coordinator?: From Internship s Experience
Mai Onishi,Emi Morimoto,Mahito Kamada 한국공학교육학회 2012 공학교육연구 Vol.15 No.5
Graduate Students in engineering at The University of Tokushima can take part in an educational program which is offered long-term internship opportunities (at a company or the government). Onishi, one of authors, took part in this educational program. She is studying environmental conservation at the university and is interested in environmental conservation activities led by residents. Striking a balance between environmental conservation and human economic activities is seen as important to society. However, the continuing in environmental conservation activities is difficult. Therefore, collaborative activities attract attention as a way of the continuing in environmental conservation activities. A person called “co-coordinator” is a key to make many people to participate in the sustainable collaboration activities. The main role of co-coordinator is connecting people who are interested in environmental conservation activities. The purpose of joining in environmental conservation activities is different from person to person depending on where they belong to or where they live. Onishi took part in the educational program to learn the techniques of adjusting the differing interests. She did her internship at environmental consulting company in Kamikatsu town, Tokushima prefecture. She participated in several environmental conservation activities and work experience as a coordinator. Through this experience, she learned not only the technique but also the difficulty of the work. This paper reports the results obtained from her experience.

Objective: The aim of this study was to investigate the prognostic factors and treatment outcome of patients with adenocarcinoma of the uterine cervix who underwent radical hysterectomy with systematic lymphadenectomy. Methods: A total of 130 patients with stage IB to IIB cervical adenocarcinoma treated with hysterectomy and systematic lymphadenectomy from 1982 to 2005 were retrospectively analyzed. Clinicopathological data including age, stage, tumor size, the number of positive node sites, lymphovascular space invasion, parametrial invasion, deep stromal invasion (>2/3 thickness), corpus invasion, vaginal infiltration, and ovarian metastasis, adjuvant therapy, and survival were collected and Cox regression analysis was used to determine independent prognostic factors. Results: An estimated five-year survival rate of stage IB1 was 96.6%, 75.0% in stage IB2, 100% in stage IIA, and 52.8% in stage IIB. Prognosis of patients with one positive-node site is similar to that of those with negative-node. Prognosis of patients with multiple positive-node sites was significantly poorer than that of negative and one positive-node site. Multivariate analysis revealed that lymph node metastasis, lymphovascular space invasion, and parametrial invasion were independent prognostic factors for cervical adenocarcinoma. Survival of patients with cervical adenocarcinoma was stratified into three groups by the combination of three independent prognostic factors. Conclusion: Lymph node metastasis, lymphovascular space invasion, and parametrial invasion were shown to be independent prognostic factors for cervical adenocarcinoma treated with hysterectomy and systematic lymphadenectomy.
