      • STEPS TOWARD HALON PHASE-OUT, PROPOSED SUBSTITUTES AND ALTERNATIVE FOR FIXED FIRE SUPPRESSION SYSTEMS

Msc,Fpe,Suprapto,Rahardja,Nugraha-B 한국화재소방학회 1997 한국화재소방학회 학술대회 논문집 Vol.1997 No.-

Following the ratification of Vienna Convention for Ozone Layer Protection and Montreal Protocol, Indonesia will implement the phasing-out of to halon at end 1996. Questions are increasing especially from the users where halon has used for many years as the most effective fire extinguishing agent, concerning halon substitutes, alternative systems as well as the handling and utilization of the existing halon. Halon can still be used for critical and essential uses, however, such usage has been gradually eliminated, due to the emergence of halon-like replacement. A concept of halon banking system is proposed to considered, taking into account several aspects such as enforced regulation, institutional involvement technology as well as financing. This paper gives a general overview regarding phase-out implementation, alternative extinguishing systems and concept on halon banking system with special reference to Indonesian case.

The current state and features of Vietnamese tea industry

Msc,Nguyen Thi Hoang Hoa 국제차문화학회 2013 차문화ㆍ산업학 Vol.24 No.-

Vietnam is known as the world’s cradle of tea. Almost nowhere in the world but Vietnam is given a favor,by nature,to be permissive to grow tea spreading on the whole country. Tea also has a long history in Vietnam. However Vietnam’s tea export value is not high. Besides tea production systems are fundamentally small grower-based except some foreign companies’ plants. Also, Vietnam Tea Industry has some problems which make this sector only contribute small part in the total export value of agriculture in Vietnam. Vietnamese Government has set broad goals for tea industry in a strategic way for developing a certain suburban and mountainous areas, the local governments of various levels of tea production areas pay a considerable attention to expand tea production including the production of material tea and the processing industry. In this paper, we focus on the current state and features of tea industry in Vietnam, point out limitations of this sector and propose solutions to deal with these.

Music festivals are an important expression of the human activity that contribute much to the social and cultural life of the host community and to establishing the relationships with the tourists-visitors of festivals. The venue of the music festival "Exit" is the famous European fortress (petrovaradin Fortress) near Novi Sad (the capital of the Serbian Province Vojvodina in the North of Serbia), which is built in the 18th century. In this paper we shall present the impact of the music festival "Exit" on the tourism development of the region of Novi Sad and to reestablishment on social and cultural relationships on the teritory of the former Yugoslavia.

      • Groupdynamics -How to strengthen the success of projects?

        ( Monica Norberg(msc Pedagogy) ),( Mia Ljungblom(msc Pedagogy) ) 한국품질경영학회 2015 한국품질경영학회 학술대회 Vol.2015 No.2

Background To improve the efficiency, to reduce costs, but still maintain or even increase the quality is a necessity for organizations today. To meet the demands and needs organizations implement various improvement models which often are carried out in different projects. Research shows that 60% of projects fail due to a lack of cooperation within the project team. How a group works together affects effectiveness and performance of the work. Research also shows that effectiveness of a group is achieved only if the group reaches a certain stage of the group dynamic process. Various group dynamic processes describe how a team develops over time where Wheelan’s model focuses on relationships/tasks, but also efficiency, structures, and goals. SPGR, a group dynamic theory by Sjøvold lifts, in addition to group dynamics the individual perspective; how individuals are included in a group. If a group should be functional and effective; is it enough to be aware of the group process and to use a measuring tool to see how the group develops? Purpose The purpose with the study is to explore, during a three-year-period, if it is possible to follow a group’s development with the support of measurement tools, and based on the measurement actively work with group development. Methodology The study is longitudinal and will continue for three years, but in this first report, the first year’s results will be presented. In September 2014, 48 students began a program at a Swedish university. The program is focused on leadership, quality, and improvement. The students are divided in 9 groups with 3-6 people in each group. At three occasions during the academic year; at the beginning of October 2014, in the beginning of December, and in May 2015, each student completed two surveys: GDQ and SPGR. During the year, several observations of the groups implemented as a complement to the survey responses. Findings The result so far has shown how groups evolve differently over time and with the support of the two different measurement tools, it provides a good basis for group development. The groups have come into different phases of a group which has impacted on how they act in the group and effectiveness has been affected. The results also demonstrate that it seems not enough to use one measurement method to achieve a good picture of the group development. Research Limitation/implication Although efforts to maintain each group intact, it has been impossible when students have stopped or changed program. All changes in the groups have been attempted to be made with minimal impact on as few groups as possible. Originality/Value We can right now see the use of only one measurement is not enough to determine a group’s development. The result demonstrates that it is possible to note how different groups develop and how it is visible in the result.

      • Application of Amalytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) on Market Apeal Evaluation-Case Stduy of Archeological Sites in Eastern Serbia

        Dr. Tatjana Pivac,MSc Tamara Tanasić,Mr. Igor Stamenković,Dr. Ivana Bleš,ić,MSc MSc Miriana Penić 한국문화관광학회 2021 문화관광연구 Vol.23 No.2

One way of promoting Eastern Serbia’s archeological heritage is to develop a number of connected sites as a cultural route. This paper discusses the application of analytic hierarchy process (AHP) on market appeal matrix with the purpose of assessing the potential for archaeological tourism development in the region of Eastern Serbia. Ten relevant criteria were proposed and were indicated for several of the most attractive archaeological sites in Eastern Serbia (Viminacium, Lepenski Vir, the Roman castrum of Pontes, Iustiniana Prima or “Empress’s Town”, Mediana and Felix Romuliana) and were analysed by Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP). Preliminary results indicate that the most relevant criteria are important national symbols and the least important appeal for special needs indicator. Lepenski Vir has the highest market appeal, followed by Felix Romuliana, Viminacium, Mediana, and the least market appeal has the Roman castrum of Pontes.

      • Design for Six Sigma and Lean Product Development : Differences, Similarities and Links

MSC, Jean-Baptiste Fouquet,Gremyr, Ida The Korean Society for Quality Management 2007 The Asian Journal on Quality Vol.8 No.3

Many practitioners strive to increase the efficiency of their product development. In addition, smaller companies must satisfy customers' expectations of their product development. These expectations can be e.g. use of specific methodologies such as Lean Product Development (LPD) and/or Design for Six Sigma (DFSS). This study attempts to identify differences and similarities between these methodologies and the connection between them. This comparison is of interest to practitioners that must choose a strategy for their product development as well as to researchers. The aim of both methodologies is to reduce waste and time of development and to raise the quality of a product at the very roots of the product: its development. LPD and DFSS help development managers to structure projects and focus as much as possible on customer expectations and satisfaction.

      • How do Ideas Interact with Behavior in Organizations?

        ( Magnus Marmgren(msc) ),( Sverker Alange(phd) ),( Stefan Book(phd) ) 한국품질경영학회 2015 한국품질경영학회 학술대회 Vol.2015 No.2

Purpose: To develop and test a conceptual framework for how ideas interact with behavior in the context of organizational development and the adoption of new organizational innovations focusing on quality, innovation and sustainability. Design/methodology/approach: The framework that has been proposed in this paper is the product of an abductive research process. This process has involved testing and reflecting in action, and on action when writing. The emerging framework has also been challenged by theoretical input from continual literature studies and has (at different stages of its development) been part of the theoretical framework for a PhD dissertation, research articles and master□s theses. Findings: The framework graphically highlights the relation between explicit (i.e. spoken or documented) and tacit ideas and that the latter is what largely controls action. It also implies that for new explicit ideas or theories to become effective, which is normally the purpose of improvement initiatives, they have to become part of the tacit guiding ideas. This is often quite difficult to achieve. The framework gives a perspective on why this is the case and how it can be counteracted. Examples of measures indicated include seeing development as iterative and contextual, and supporting sense-making and learning by doing. Another example is to address the coherence between the parts of the framework, i.e. what is said, documented and done. Practical implications: The framework has been tested with practitioners and the graphical framework has rapidly assisted professionals in making explicit, and developing, the tacit knowledge they have of the specific problem/opportunity areas for their respective organization. This was found in different cases including studies of sustainability, process management and cultural factors influencing behavior in different countries. Originality/value: The implications of the framework are in line with existing research but we believe that the graphical model adds both scientific and practical dimensions. This is partly due to the framework making it easier to differentiate between complex concepts that are often confused.

      • Quality is to a product what character is to a man -is virtue ethics the missing piece in quality management?

        ( Mia Ljungblom(msc Pedagogy) ),( Thomas Taro Lennerfors(associate Professor) ) 한국품질경영학회 2015 한국품질경영학회 학술대회 Vol.2015 No.2

Background It is a growing trend within the field of management studies to argue that virtue ethics is necessary for good management. This quite recent trend goes against the common view of ethics in business as fundamentally deontological or consequentialist, rather than a focus on character. Business ethics in general, including project management, is often reactive rather than affirmative. In other words, to avoid problems and scandals, managers and employees use rule-based ethics that prohibits infraction and wrongdoing instead of becoming role models that strive for the good. Quality is seldom discussed in relation to virtue ethics. In this paper, we argue that virtue ethics should also be a fundamental part in quality management by bringing quality down to the personal level which has a processual focus (continuous improvements, and commitment), and thereby fits well into for example Total Quality Management. We stay true to the Heinzian statement that character is to a man, or woman, what quality is to a product, or process. Purpose To to argue for the use virtue ethics in quality management. Methodology We have emulated the methods employed by Loo using a general inductive approach for analyzing qualitative evaluation data. Responses on three ethical dilemmas were collected between 2011 and 2015. These include 88 responses from Project management students and 31 responses from well-established PMs. The respondents were asked to give their solution to the dilemmas, and also give their solution if they had the dilemma themselves as a PM. All the response will serve as the basis for the analysis in this paper. Findings TQM and ethics have in common that an integral perspective is needed in order to achieve the intended goals and quality management can benefit from a more direct engagement with theories of virtue ethics. Organizations have to find out what kind of behaviors (virtues) is necessary for quality improvements and what kind of character is best for co-worker working with quality issues. Virtue ethics, as maximalistic ethics, is not enough, but must be complemented with a minimalistic ethics to promote quality

The status of women weavers as heritage bearers: Accounts of social transformation and empowerment in the province of Canchis, Cuzco, Peru

Giulia Avanza, MSc 국립민속박물관 2021 International Journal of Intangible Heritage Vol.16 No.1

UNESCO includes heritage textile arts and the specific skills and knowledge required for their production among the traditional crafts that constitute the intangible cultural heritage of humanity. This is due to the significant links that exist between weaving traditions, local societal structures and the history and shared memories of local communities. This article, which originates in extensive fieldwork and ethnographic participant observation in the Canchis province, in the region of Cuzco, Peru, will illustrate the tradition of loom textile-making in the area, highlighting the interdependence among intangible cultural heritage, traditional ecological knowledge and local socio-economic dynamics. A number of observed relevant factors affecting the status of women weavers as heritage bearers (rigid social structures, familial organisation, relation between genders and institutional support) will be addressed in further detail to shed light on the reciprocal interactions and the tensions between cultural preservation and social inequality in relation to heritage textile art, and to reflect on the role of female weavers, on their working conditions and on their autonomy and social status within and outside their communities of origin. In the context of pressing modernisation and threatening homogenisation of production, this article identifies a number of conditions that contribute to the resilience of this form of intangible cultural heritage, preserving this creative legacy while empowering women to overcome detrimental social dynamics.
