Photorhabdus spp. has a high molecular weight Tc toxin with insecticidal activity. These toxins have been suggested as an alternative to BT toxin from Bacillus thuringiensis. Herein, we constructed a cosmid library with the genome of M1021 and screened the Escherichia coli clones showing insect toxicity by injecting each clone into Galleria mellonella larvae. In a total of 1020 clones, one clone with high insecticidal activity was selected and the nucleotide sequence of the cosmid of the clone was determined. In cosmid PtC28, a gene with 87% homology to the tccB gene of Photorhabdus temperata was found. Consequently, we have isolated the tccB gene cassette from the M1021 and expressed in E. coli expression vectors. The toxin was produced in the form of inclusion bodies but the denatured and refolded recombinant TccB showed strong mortality to the G. mellonella larvae.
Influence of V2O5 Addition on the Magnetic Properties of Li-Zn Ferrites
M. Samir Ullah,Sm. Rubayatul Islam,M. Atikul Islam,M. Hassan,M. Firoz Uddin,M. Mizanur Rahman 한국자기학회 2023 Journal of Magnetics Vol.28 No.1
The structural property, bulk density and porosity of V2O5 (0.0, 0.4, 0.8 and 1.2 wt.%) added Li-Zn ferrites are observed along with the surface morphology. The samples have been prepared by the solid-state reaction technique and sintered at 1050 oC. The X-ray diffraction patterns of the prepared samples have shown the single phase cubic spinel structure. A microstructural study demonstrates that the grain size increases up to 0.8 wt.% V2O5 and slightly decreased thereafter for 1.2 wt.% V2O5 addition. The saturation magnetization value increases from 44.0 to 50.3 emu/g as the V2O5 content increases up to 0.8 wt.%. The decrease of magnetization for 1.2 wt.% V2O5 content is apparent and it is found to be 47.3 emu/g. This may be related to the dilution effect with the excess of non-magnetic V2O5. It is also observed that the value of initial permeability increases up to 0.8 wt.% V2O5.

The present study was initiated to explore the yield potential of bushbean by exploiting the interaction of variety, sowing time, and fertilizers containing N, P, and K Two varieties namely BARI Bushbean 1 and BARI Bushbean 2, three levels of fertilizer viz. control ($N_{0}P_{0}K_{0}$), medium ($N_{20}P_{30}K_{30}$), high ($N_{40}P_{60}K_{60}$) and three sowing times (November 15, December 1 and December 15) were considered as treatment variables. Among the varieties, BARI Bushbean 2 always showed better performance for most of the yield and yield attributes duly attributed by the application of fertilizers ${\circleda}$ N: P: K = 40: 60: 60 respectively. The highest seed yield (1375.17 kg/ha) was recorded when the crop was sown on the $15^{th}$ November with the supplemented soil nutrition status as above. The influence of sowing times indicate that there is a gradual trend of decreasing in seed yield and other associated parameters after first sowing ($15^{th}\;November$). The results of this study suggest that the multi-locational trial under varied sowing times with soil nutrition might potentially increase the long-term adaptation of bushbean in Bangladesh.

ZIM cover for improvement of the bandwidth and gain of patch antenna
M. Habib Ullah,M.J. Uddin,T.A. Latef,W.N.L. Mahadi,M.T. Islam,M.R. Ahsan,K. Kamardin 한국물리학회 2016 Current Applied Physics Vol.16 No.8
A new zero-index metasurface (ZIM) structure is proposed to improve the bandwidth and gain of the microstrip patch antenna. A single-sided 8 8 set of metasurface elements is embedded over the radiating patch to enhance the performance of a coaxial probe fed slotted circular patch antenna. The proposed ZIM cover-assimilated antenna were designed on a high permittivity (εr ¼ 15) ceramic-filled bio-plastic sandwich structured dielectric substrate and fabricated for experimental verification of the performance characteristics. A significant improvement of bandwidths and gains of the proposed antenna were observed by incorporating the metasurface cover over the radiating patch with the gap of 10 mm. The experimental results showed that the bandwidths of the proposed metasurface-covered antenna widened by 54.5%, 68.5% and 61.1% and gains also improved by 133.40%, 73.30% and 72.06% at three resonant frequencies, namely, 3.7 GHz, 8.95 GHz and 10.3 GHz, respectively, compared to the patch alone. The performance characteristics of the proposed ZIM cover-incorporated antenna make it suitable for ultra-wideband (3.4e4 GHz, 6.45e8.2 GHz and 10.0e10.9 GHz) applications.
Preparation of highly efficient Al-doped ZnO photocatalyst by combustion synthesis
M. Ahmad,E. Ahmed,Yuewei Zhang,N.R. Khalid,Jianfeng Xu,M. Ullah,Zhanglian Hong 한국물리학회 2013 Current Applied Physics Vol.13 No.4
Novel Al-doped ZnO (AZO) photocatalysts with different Al concentrations (0.5e6.0 mol%) were prepared through a facile combustion method and followed by calcination at 500 ℃ for 3 h. The obtained nanopowders were characterized by powder X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscope (SEM) combined with EDX, transmission electron microscope (TEM), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), UVevis spectroscopy and photoluminescence spectroscopy. The XRD patterns of AZO nanopowders were assigned to wurtzite structure of ZnO with the smallest crystallite size about 11 nm consistent with the results from TEM. The doping of Al in ZnO crystal structure successfully suppressed the growth of ZnO nanoparticles confirmed by XRD patterns. The absorption spectra analysis showed that the optical band gap energy (Eg) for the AZO nanopowders were in the range of 3.12-3.21 eV and decreased with increasing of Al dopant. The photocatalytic activities of the samples were evaluated by photocatalytic degradation of methyl orange under visible light (λ≥ 420 nm) and sunlight irradiation. The results showed that the AZO photocatalyst doped with 4.0 mol% Al exhibited five times enhanced photocatalytic activity compared to pure ZnO. The enhanced photocatalytic activity could be attributed to extended visible light absorption, inhibition of the electronehole pair’s recombination and enhanced adsorptivity of MO dye molecule on the surface of AZO nanopowders.
