Coumarins and Lignans from Zanthoxylum schinifolium and Their Anticancer Activities
Li, Wei,Sun, Ya Nan,Yan, Xi Tao,Yang, Seo Young,Kim, Eun-Ji,Kang, Hee Kyoung,Kim, Young Ho American Chemical Society 2013 Journal of agricultural and food chemistry Vol.61 No.45
<P>Zanthoxylum schinifolium is an aromatic shrub, and its pericarp and leaves are widely used in culinary applications in East Asian countries. It has also long been used in traditional Oriental medicine for treating the common cold, stomach ache, diarrhea, and jaundice. In this study, we identified two new compounds, zanthoxyloside (<B>1</B>) and schinifolisatin A (<B>13</B>), along with 23 known coumarins (<B>2</B>–<B>12</B>) and lignans (<B>14</B>–<B>25</B>), from a methanol extract of the stems of Z. schinifolium. The chemical structures of the compounds were determined by mass, 1D-, and 2D NMR spectroscopy. The anticancer effects of the isolated compounds were examined in three human cancer cell lines. Compounds <B>10</B>–<B>12</B> significantly reduced the proliferation of HL-60 human acute promyelocytic leukemia cells with IC50 values of 4.62–5.12 μM. Treatment of PC-3 prostate cancer cells and SNU-C5 colorectal cancer cells with compound <B>10</B> resulted in potent antiproliferative activity, with IC50 values of 4.39 and 6.26 μM, respectively. Also, compounds <B>10</B>–<B>12</B> induced the apoptosis of three cancer cells. Furthermore, the induction of apoptosis was accompanied by down-regulation of p-ERK1/2 MAPK, p-AKT, and c-myc levels, in a time-dependent manner. These data suggested that compounds <B>10</B>–<B>12</B> from Z. schinifolium have potential in cancer treatment.</P><P><B>Graphic Abstract</B> <IMG SRC='http://pubs.acs.org/appl/literatum/publisher/achs/journals/content/jafcau/2013/jafcau.2013.61.issue-45/jf403479c/production/images/medium/jf-2013-03479c_0007.gif'></P><P><A href='http://pubs.acs.org/doi/suppl/10.1021/jf403479c'>ACS Electronic Supporting Info</A></P>

<P>Three new (1-3) and 17 known (4-20) iridoid and secoiridoid glycosides were isolated from a methanol extract of the rhizomes and roots of Gentiana scabra. Their chemical structures were elucidated from 1D and 2D NMR, IR absorption, and HR-ESI-MS spectra, as well as comparisons of these data with reported values. The effects of the isolated compounds on lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-stimulated bone marrow-derived dendritic cells were investigated. Compounds 6, 10 and 20 exhibited significant inhibitory effects on LPS-induced IL-12 p40 and IL-6 production with IC50 values of 1.62-14.29?μM. Compound 10 also showed a strong inhibitory effect on the LPS-stimulated production of TNF-α with an IC50 value of 10.45?μM.</P>
An Adaptive Equivalent Circuit Modeling Method for the Eddy Current-Driven Electromechanical System
Li, Wei,Jeong, Young Woo,Koh, Chang Seop IEEE 2010 IEEE transactions on magnetics Vol.46 No.6
<P> An adaptive equivalent circuit method is developed for analyzing eddy current-driven electromechanical systems in an efficient and accurate way. The problem is analyzed by transferring the system to an equivalent circuit model, which is set up by adaptively dividing the plate into a series of segments based on the field continuity condition at the interface of segments. The performance is obtained by solving the circuit equations combined with motional equations with the Runge–Kutta–Fehlberg method. The circuit parameters, such as self inductance and mutual inductance, are evaluated from the geometry parameters by using an analytic method. The proposed method is applied to analyze two eddy current-driven electromechanical systems, Thomson-coil actuators used for a practical engineering problem and TEAM Workshop Problem 28. The accuracy and efficiency of the proposed method are verified by comparing the calculation result with the FEM calculation result and the experimental result. </P>
Load Prediction Based on Optimization Ant Colony Algorithm
Li Wei,Tang Jingmin,Ma Han,Fan Min,Liu Simiao,Wang Jie 대한전기학회 2023 Vol.18 No.1
Short-term load in the power system is associated with huge computational consumption and low model utilization. Large input fl uctuation tends to increase the training error of the neural network prediction model and reduce its generalization ability. To cope with this problem, this study aimed to introduce a method of radial basis function neural network algorithm based on least squares support vector machine algorithm. Based on the electricity market in an area of Yunnan province, the short-term loads were forecasted with historical data. First, the ant colony algorithm was improved using the chaos theory. Second, the improved ant colony was used to search least squares support vector machine and output the optimal parameters of the model. Then, the optimized model was used to train the data samples, and the output regression machine was used to provide better structures and parameters for the radial basis function neural network. The fi ndings showed that compared with multiple prediction methods, the algorithm in this paper reduces the learning time and improves the fi tting degree of the algorithm on the basis of improving the prediction accuracy. It shows that the algorithm in this paper has great advantages and good application prospects.
FBG-based Non-contact Vibration Measurement and Experimental Study
Li Wei,Zu-De Zhou,Jun Huang,Yue-Gang Tan 한국정밀공학회 2013 International Journal of Precision Engineering and Vol. No.
Rotating shaft vibration measurement has important significance for condition monitoring and fault diagnosis of large rotating machinery system. This paper presents a novel non contact radial vibration displacement measurement method based on fiber Bragg grating (FBG) sensing technology and introduces the principle and structure of the vibration sensor. The static displacement calibration experiment was carried out to determine linear range and sensitivity of the sensor. Finally, the sensor was used in the dynamic test of a rotating machinery experiment platform and the results show that the measurement method is feasible.

<P>A phytochemical investigation of Taraxacum mongolicum led to the isolation of 24 compounds, including six flavonoids (1-6), four sesquiterpenes (7-10), two sphingolipids (11 and 12), six glycerols (13-18) and six triterpenoids and sterols (19-24). The structures of these compounds were identified by spectroscopic methods, and their data compared with those reported in the literature. This is the first report of compounds 11-19 from T. mongolicum and the genus Taraxacum, and compounds 11, 12, 15, 16, 18 and 19 from the Asteraceae family. The chemotaxonomic relationship between T. mongolicum and other Taraxacum species is also discussed.</P>
