Influence of dragon bamboo with different planting patterns on microbial community and physicochemical property of soil on sunny and shady slopes

        Liu Weiyi,Wang Fang,Sun Yanmei,Yang Lei,Chen Huihai,Liu Weijie,Zhu Bin,Hui Chaomao,Wang Shiwei 한국미생물학회 2020 The journal of microbiology Vol.58 No.11

Dragon bamboo (Dendrocalamus giganteus) is a giant sympodial bamboo species widely distributed in Asia. However, it remains unclear how dragon bamboo and soil microbes interact to affect soil properties. In this study, we investigated the planting patterns (semi-natural and artificial) on different slopes (sunny and shady) to determine the effects on soil properties and microbial community. The results showed that the soil in which dragon bamboo was grown was acidic, with a pH value of ~5. Also, the soil organic matter content, nitrogen hydrolysate concentration, total nitrogen, available potassium, and total potassium of the dragon bamboo seminatural forest significantly improved, especially on the sunny slope. In contrast, the available phosphorus level was higher in the artificial bamboo forest, probably owing to the phosphate fertilizer application. The bacterial and fungal diversity and the bacterial abundance were all higher on the sunny slope of the semi-natural forest than those in the other samples. The microbial operational taxonomic units (OTUs) shared between the shady and sunny slopes accounted for 47.8–62.2%, but the core OTUs of all samples were only 24.4– 30.4% of each sample, suggesting that the slope type had a significant effect on the microbial community. Some acidophilic microbes, such as Acidobacteria groups, Streptomyces and Mortierella, became dominant in dragon bamboo forest soil. A PICRUSt analysis of the bacterial functional groups revealed that post-translational modification, cell division, and coenzyme transport and metabolism were abundant in the semi-natural forest. However, some microorganisms with strong stress resistance might be activated in the artificial forest. Taken together, these results illustrated the influence of dragon bamboo growth on soil physicochemical property and microbial community, which might help understand the growth status of dragon bamboo under different planting patterns.

Post-fire Load-carrying Properties of a Reinforced Concrete Beam Supporting Column Transfer Structure Joint Unit

Weiyi Kong,Chuanguo Fu,Weiqing Liu 대한토목학회 2019 KSCE JOURNAL OF CIVIL ENGINEERING Vol.23 No.2

According to the characteristics of a reinforced concrete beam supporting column transfer structure, two types of full-size beam supporting column transfer structure joints are designed, and the post-fire residual mechanical behavior is tested. We observe the deformation and crack propagation of joint specimens under load, construct the load-deflection curve, record the post-fire residual strength and analyze the failure mode. The results show that longer exposure to high temperature is correlated with a smaller residual capacity of the joint units. When the specimens reach the ultimate bearing capacity, cracks form in the A-type joint unit specimens that are aligned with the central axis of the supported column, and several vertical cracks appear in the core area of the joint. The cracks of the B-type joint unit arise primarily on the compression side of the supported column, and many prominent inclined cracks arise in the core area of the joint that extend from the bottom to the compression zone of the transfer beam. Therefore, for structures with a bearing column girder transfer floor, the influence of the change of the internal force distribution on the post-fire load-bearing performance caused by the arrangement of the column should be considered.

      • Numerical study on the impact response of SC walls under elevated temperatures

        Lin Wang,Weiyi Zhao,Caiwei Liu,Qinghong Pang 국제구조공학회 2023 Steel and Composite Structures, An International J Vol.46 No.3

A thermal-mechanical coupling finite element model of the steel-plate concrete composite (SC) wall is established, taking into account the strain rate effect and variation in mechanical and thermal properties under different temperatures. Verifications of the model against previous fire test and impact test results are carried out. The impact response of the SC wall under elevated temperatures is further investigated. The influences of the fire exposure time on the impact force and displacement histories are discussed. The results show that as the fire exposure time increases, the deflection increases and the impact resistance decreases. A formula is proposed to calculate the reduction of the allowable impact energy considering the fire exposure time.

Bandgap Engineering of Monolayer MoS2 under Strain: A DFT Study

        Can Li,Bowen Fan,Weiyi Li,Luowei Wen,Yan Liu,Tao Wang,Kuang Sheng,You Yin 한국물리학회 2015 THE JOURNAL OF THE KOREAN PHYSICAL SOCIETY Vol.66 No.11

In this paper, density functional theory calculations are used to investigate the monolayer MoS2 in terms of the strain by analyzing the structure parameters: the bandgap, the density of states (DOS) and the Milliken charges. The calculations indicate that an increasing external stain tends to depress the ripple structure with a shorter S-S interlayer spacing and to enlarge the length of the Mo-S bond. Tensile strain dramatically alteres the bandgap; however, compressive strain almost does not. The change in the bandgap is explained by an analysis of the DOS, the partial density of states (PDOS), the structure parameters and the Mulliken charge distribution. The effects of strain on the Mulliken charge and the length of the Mo-S band cause bandgap differences under tensile and compressive strain.

Prevalence of Depression in Ankylosing Spondylitis: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis

        Lijuan Zhang,Yaping Wu,Shiguang Liu,Weiyi Zhu 대한신경정신의학회 2019 PSYCHIATRY INVESTIGATION Vol.16 No.8

The aim of this study was to provide a summary estimate of depression prevalence among people with ankylosing spondylitis (AS) in comparison to those without AS. A systematic literature search was conducted using PubMed, Embase, PsycINFO, Web of Science, the Cochrane database library, China National Knowledge Infrastructure, and Wanfang Database from their inception to December 2016. The results showed that thirty-one eligible studies involving 8,106 patients were analyzed. Fifteen methods of defining depression were reported. The overall pooled prevalence of depression was 35% (95% CI, 28–43%), with high between-study heterogeneity (I2=98.8%, p<0.001). The relative risk of depression among people with AS was 1.76 (95% CI: 1.21–2.55, eight studies, n=3,006) compared with people without AS. The depression score [standardized mean difference (SMD)=0.43, 95% CI: 0.19–0.67, seven studies, n=549] was higher in AS patients than in controls. The main influence on depression prevalence was the sample size and country of origin. In conclusion, one-third of people with AS experience symptoms of depression. Depression was more prevalent in AS patients than in controls. Further research is needed to identify effective strategies for preventing and treating depression among AS patients.
