      • THE TECHNIQUES OF 16 QASK TRELLIS CODED MODULATION

Lian, Li Zheng,Yun, Qi Guang,Qing, Liu Ning 대한전자공학회 1992 HICEC:Harbin International Conference on Electroni Vol.1 No.1

The study of the technique of 16QASK TCM modulation is based on the theory of trellis coding presented by G. Ungerboeck. The research demonstrates that the modulation with trellis coding may obtain 5-6 db coding gains in comparison With the conventional modulation. At last, a thought of enpanded twice channel singnals sets is suggested, and the application prospect is elaborated in this paper.

      • Knowledge-enriched Process FMEA Model for Process Planning

Zheng, Lian-yu,Chin, Kwai-sang,Wei, Li 한국품질경영학회 2002 The Asian Journal on Quality Vol.3 No.1

Most process FMEA systems in the market simply fill out the worksheet/form, and can not effectively express, organize, and utilize process failure knowledge of production process during process planning. This paper proposes a knowledge-enriched representation model for enhancing process FMEA in process planning. This model can effectively represent the process FMEA knowledge other than specific process failure instances or data. Furthermore, in order to effectively utilize the previous process FMEA knowledge, an algorithm is proposed to calculate the similarity among process failure problems based on “concept distance”. A knowledge-enriched process FMEA tool has been developed by adopting Web technique so as to provide cooperative process FMEA services for process planner on the Internet or Intranet.

      • MiRNA-15a Mediates Cell Cycle Arrest and Potentiates Apoptosis in Breast Cancer Cells by Targeting Synuclein-γ

        Li, Ping,Xie, Xiao-Bing,Chen, Qian,Pang, Guo-Lian,Luo, Wan,Tu, Jian-Cheng,Zheng, Fang,Liu, Song-Mei,Han, Lu,Zhang, Jian-Kun,Luo, Xian-Yong,Zhou, Xin Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2014 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.15 No.16

Background: Recent studies have indicated that microRNA-15a (miR-15a) is dysregulated in breast cancer (BC). We aimed to evaluate the expression of miR-15a in BC tissues and corresponding para-carcinoma tissues. We also focused on effects of miR-15a on cellular behavior of MDA-MB-231 and expression of its target gene synuclein-${\gamma}$ (SNCG). Materials and Methods: The expression levels of miR-15a were analysed in BC formalin fixed paraffin embedded (FFPE) tissues by microarray and quantitative real-time PCR. CCK-8 assays, cell cycle and apoptosis assays were used to explore the potential functions of miR-15a in MDA-MB-231 human BC cells. A luciferase reporter assay confirmed direct targets. Results: Downregulation of miR-15a was detected in most primary BCs. Ectopic expression of miR-15a promoted proliferation and suppressed apoptosis in vivo. Further studies indicated that miR-15a may directly interact with the 3'-untranslated region (3'-UTR) of SNCG mRNA, downregulating its mRNA and protein expression levels. SNCG expression was negatively correlated with miR-15a expression. Conclusions: MiR-15a has a critical role in mediating cell cycle arrest and promoting cell apoptosis of BC, probably by directly targeting SNCG. Thus, it may be involved in development and progression of BC.

Electricity Effectively Utilization by Integrating Microbial Fuel Cells with Microbial Immobilization Technology for Denitrification

        Lian-gang Hou,Qin-zheng Yang,Jun Li 한국생물공학회 2020 Biotechnology and Bioprocess Engineering Vol.25 No.3

We report a novel strategy of integrating microbial fuel cell (MFC) with microbial immobilization technology (MIT) in a sequencing batch reactor (SBR) to test the performance of nitrate removal for the first time. Results showed that MFC could enhance nitrate removal in the novel integrated system, especially for wastewater with low carbon-to-nitrogen ratios, and the nitrate removal efficiency reached 91.35% in the lab-scale integrated system, including 12.25% nitrate consumption by MFC in one typical cycle. The anode of MFC recovered energy in the form of electricity, floating cathode of MFC prevented the loss of immobilized denitrifying bacteria particles and degraded a portion of nitrate, and the maximum voltage production of MFC was 0.246 V. The novel integrated system in this paper showed excellent nitrate removal performance and it will be a highly potential novel setup for efficient nitrate removal of wastewater treatment.

Estrogen promotes the onset and development of idiopathic scoliosis via disproportionate endochondral ossification of the anterior and posterior column in a bipedal rat model

        Shuhui Zheng,Hang Zhou,Bo Gao,Yongyong Li,Zhiheng Liao,Taifeng Zhou,Chengjie Lian,Zizhao Wu,Deying Su,Tingting Wang,Peiqiang Su,Caixia Xu 생화학분자생물학회 2018 Experimental and molecular medicine Vol.50 No.-

This study aimed to verify the effects of estrogen on the onset and development of adolescent idiopathic scoliosis and the mechanisms associated with these effects by constructing a pubescent bipedal rat model. Experiments were conducted to investigate whether scoliosis progression was prevented by a Triptorelin treatment. One hundred twenty bipedal rats were divided into female, OVX (ovariectomy), OVX + E2, Triptorelin, sham, and male groups. According to a spinal radiographic analysis, the scoliosis rates and curve severity of the female and OVX + E2 groups were higher than those in the OVX, Triptorelin, and male groups. The measurements obtained from the sagittal plane of thoracic vertebrae CT confirmed a relatively slower growth of the anterior elements and a faster growth of the posterior elements between T11 and T13 in the female and OVX + E2 groups than in the OVX and Triptorelin groups. Histomorphometry and immunohistochemistry revealed a significantly longer hypertrophic zone of the vertebral cartilage growth plates that expressed more type X collagen and less type II collagen in the OVX and Triptorelin groups than in the female and OVX + E2 groups. Ki67 immunostaining confirmed an increase in the proliferation of vertebral growth plate chondrocytes in the OVX group compared with the female and OVX + E2 groups. In conclusion, estrogen obviously increased the incidence of scoliosis and curve severity in pubescent bipedal rats. The underlying mechanism may be a loss of coupling of the endochondral ossification between the anterior and posterior columns. Triptorelin decreased the incidence of scoliosis and curve magnitudes in bipedal female rats. Introduction Adolescent

Inhibition of lncRNA KCNQ1OT1 Improves Apoptosis and Chemotherapy Drug Response in Small Cell Lung Cancer by TGF-β1 Mediated Epithelial-to-Mesenchymal Transition

        Deyu Li,Qin Tong,Yuane Lian,Zhizhong Chen,Yaru Zhu,Weimei Huang,Yang Wen,Qiongyao Wang,Shumei Liang,Man Li,Jianjing Zheng,Zhenhua Liu,Huanxin Liu,Linlang Guo 대한암학회 2021 Cancer Research and Treatment Vol.53 No.4

Purpose Drug resistance is one of the main causes of chemotherapy failure in patients with small cell lung cancer (SCLC), and extensive biological studies into chemotherapy drug resistance are required. Materials and Methods In this study, we performed lncRNA microarray, in vitro functional assays, in vivo models and cDNA microarray to evaluate the impact of lncRNA in SCLC chemoresistance. Results The results showed that KCNQ1OT1 expression was upregulated in SCLC tissues and was a poor prognostic factor for patients with SCLC. Knockdown of KCNQ1OT1 inhibited cell proliferation, migration, chemoresistance and promoted apoptosis of SCLC cells. Mechanistic investigation showed that KCNQ1OT1 can activate transforming growth factor-β1 mediated epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition in SCLC cells. Conclusion Taken together, our study revealed the role of KCNQ1OT1 in the progression and chemoresistance of SCLC, and suggested KCNQ1OT1 as a potential diagnostic and prognostic biomarker in SCLC clinical management.

Fermented cottonseed meal improves production performance and reduces fat deposition in broiler chickens

        Niu Jun Li,Wei Lian Qing,Luo Yuan Qing,Yang Wen Ting,Lu Qi Cheng,Zheng Xin Xia,Niu Yu Jie,Sheng Wen,Cheng Hong,Zhang Wen Ju,Nie Cun Xi 아세아·태평양축산학회 2021 Animal Bioscience Vol.34 No.4

Objective: This study was conducted to investigate the effect of fermented cottonseed meal (FCSM) on growth performance, carcass traits, and fat deposition in white-feather broiler chickens. Methods: A total of 480 male one-day-old white-feather broiler chickens were selected randomly and divided into four groups with six replicates of 20 chickens in each. The experimental chickens were fed diets including 3%, 6%, or 9% FCSM fermented by Candida tropicalis until 42 days old. In the experiment, the chickens of the control group were fed soybean meal. Results: FCSM supplementation linearly decreased the feed conversion ratio from d 15 to 21 and d 36 to 42, respectively (p<0.05). The percentage of carcass and semi-eviscerate increased in response to dietary FCSM supplementation at d 21 (p<0.05). The percentage of eviscerated and semi-eviscerate of 3FCSM was higher than that in other groups at d 35 (p<0.05). At the age of 42 d, the percentage of carcass increased in a quadratic way among increasing FCSM in diets (p<0.05). The subcutaneous fat thickness linearly decreased with the increasing levels of FCSM at d 21 (p<0.05). Gompertz and Logistic functions provided a better fit on abdominal fat and subcutaneous fat, respectively. The best fitted equation predicted that the maximum growth rate of abdominal fat weight and subcutaneous fat thickness occurred at d 28. FCSM had no significant effects on the shape of growth curve of abdominal fat weight and subcutaneous fat thickness, but reduced the height of the curve. Birds receiving the 6FCSM diet for 21 d had smaller adipocyte surface and lower serum glucose as well as triglyceride concentration. Conclusion: FCSM is beneficial for broiler chickens as it positively affects their growth and carcass in addition to altering their fat deposition. A practical method for simultaneous determination of Poisson’s ratio and Young’s modulus of elasticity of thin films

        Jun-yi Sun,Jian-li Hu,Zhou-lian Zheng,Xiao-ting He,Huan-huan Geng 대한기계학회 2011 JOURNAL OF MECHANICAL SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY Vol.25 No.12

In this paper, based on the exact analytical solution of axisymmetric deformation of the circular membrane fixed at its edge under the action of uniformly-distributed loads, we propose a new method to be able to simultaneously determine Poisson's ratio and Young's modulus of elasticity for thin films. We also present a set of exact formulas used for simultaneously determining Poisson's ratio and Young's modulus of elasticity for free-standing thin films or coating thin films without residual stresses or pre-tension. This method has the advantages of simplicity and reliability, and it doesn’t involve the substrate effect.

Identification of Quantitative Trait Loci (QTLs) for Flowering Time Using SSR Marker in Maize under Water Stress

        Xiao, Yan-Nong,Li, Xin-Hai,Zhang, Shi-Huang,Wang, Xiang-Dong,Li, Ming-Shun,Zheng, Yong-Lian 한국유전학회 2004 Genes & Genomics Vol.26 No.4

The selection of reduction of anthesis-silking interval (ASI) in maize breeding is an efficient way to develop maize varieties more tolerant to dry growing conditions. Characterization of the quantitative trait loci (QTL) that controlled the flowering time will be helpful for selection in maize breeding. In this study, flowering time of individuals in a 234 F_(2:3) family, derived from the cross between inbred lines X178 and B73, was evaluated under well-watered and water-stressed conditions at the same location. SSR (microsatellite) was used to identify flowering time QTL. The results showed that the broad-sense heritability for male flowering time (MFT), female flowering time (FFT) and ASI were 0.72, 0.72 - 0.74 and 0.40 - 0.42, respectively, and ASI was significantly correlated to FFT. Under water-stressed condition, 9, 6 and 6 QTLs were identified for MFT, FFT and ASI, respectively, and individual QTL accounted for approximately 2.88% - 31.65% of the phenotypic variation. Some QTLs for MFT were mapped overlapping with those for FIT and ASI. One QTL on chromosome 9 (near nc134) had the strongest effect on MFT, FTT and ASI. It was suggested that the epistasis contributed to the phenotypic variation of flowering time.
