Fabrication and Magnetic Properties of MnFe2O4 Nanowire Arrays
Leszek Malkinski,Jin Hee Lim,Weon Sik Chae,Hee Ok Lee,Eun Mee Kim,Jin Seung Jung 대한금속재료학회 ( 구 대한금속학회 ) 2009 ELECTRONIC MATERIALS LETTERS Vol.5 No.2
One of the most important magnetic materials, ferrite nanoparticles, has extensively been studied because of their potential applications in magnetic storage media and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). The magnetic properties of these nanoparticles can significantly change depending on their shape. 8 nm manganese ferrite nanoparticles were synthesized by thermal decomposing the metal complex and surfactant. The process of embedding MnFe2O4 nanoparticles into the pores of the anodic aluminum oxide (AAO) was assisted by the magnetic field of the permanent magnet that was placed directly under the substrate in the vacuum. The nanowires formed in the pores from the ferrite nanoparticles were annealed at 400℃ and 600℃ in an Ar gas atmosphere in order for the morphology to transform. The morphology of the manganese ferrite nanoparticles before and after annealing was observed using a field-emission scanning electron microscope. The coercivity and squareness of the hysteresis loop of the annealed ferrite that resulted from the morphological changes increased when the annealing temperature increased.
Circadian Biorhythmicity in Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus - A Case Series Report
Leszek Herbowski 대한신경외과학회 2022 Journal of Korean neurosurgical society Vol.65 No.1
Continuous monitoring of intracranial pressure is a well established medical procedure. Still, little is known about long-term behavior of intracranial pressure in normal pressure hydrocephalus. The present study is designed to evaluate periodicity of intracranial pressure over long-time scales using intraventricular pressure monitoring in patients with normal pressure hydrocephalus. In addition, the circadian and diurnal patterns of blood pressure and body temperature in those patients are studied. Four patients, selected with “probable” normal pressure hydrocephalus, were monitored for several dozen hours. Intracranial pressure, blood pressure, and body temperature were recorded hourly. Autocorrelation functions were calculated and cross-correlation analysis were carried out to study all the time-series data. Autocorrelation results show that intracranial pressure, blood pressure, and body temperature values follow bimodal (positive and negative) curves over a day. The cross-correlation functions demonstrate causal relationships between intracranial pressure, blood pressure, and body temperature. The results show that long-term fluctuations in intracranial pressure exhibit cyclical patterns with periods of about 24 hours. Continuous intracranial pressure recording in “probable” normal pressure hydrocephalus patients reveals circadian fluctuations not related to the day and night cycle. These fluctuations are causally related to changes in blood pressure and body temperature. The present study reveals the complete loss of the diurnal blood pressure and body temperature rhythmicities in patients with “probable” normal pressure hydrocephalus.
Cybernetic Integrators of Created Value Creation
Leszek Kieltyka,Robert Kuceba,Waldemar Jedrzejczyk 제어로봇시스템학회 2009 제어로봇시스템학회 국제학술대회 논문집 Vol.2009 No.8
The paper contains the definition and classification of cybernetic integrators of created value creation in the whole chain of its supply. It introduces cybernetic integration levels such as technical level, formal level and informal level. The paper also includes a list of cybernetic integrators of value creation and sample areas of their implementation ?- at particular stages of crated value growth (information correlated with the product growth).

The article presents the problem of mapping the characteristic macroeconomic conditionings of running a business in Poland. It demonstrates the current administrative division of Poland into voivodeships, indicates macroeconomic indices for voivodeships useful for enterprises and describes the basic properties of Kohonen’"s network. The article also presents the results of mapping the macroeconomic conditionings with the use of Kohonen’"s networks and then after running a deep analysis of the regions distinguished by the Kohonen’"s network.
The San Francisco System: Contemporary Meaning and Challenges
( Leszek Buszynski ) 경남대학교 극동문제연구소 2011 ASIAN PERSPECTIVE Vol.35 No.3
This article subjects the notion of the San Francisco system to critical scrutiny. It identifies the origins, evolution, and various meanings attributed to the term. In its original sense it meant the Northeast Asian security order that was based on the US-Japan alliance. The argument here is that its current meaning as a comprehensive system of security was a later accretion and cannot be supported by the facts. The article then analyzes the contemporary challenges to the system as understood in its original meaning, examining the consequences for the system of a rising China and arguing that since the Senkaku/Diaoyu Islands clash between Japan and China in September 2010, the US-Japan alliance has been strengthened. China`s actions have made the alliance more important for Japan, and the system will continue.
The South China Sea Maritime Dispute: Legality, Power, and Conflict Prevention
( Leszek Buszynski ) 서울대학교 통일평화연구원 2013 Asian Journal of Peacebuilding Vol.1 No.1
Tensions in the South China Sea have risen in recent years for reasons related to conflicting territorial claims and rivalry, competition for access to fish stocks as well as oil and gas fields, and in China`s case, emerging strategic interests. Because international law largely excludes it from an area it regards as historically Chinese, China has recently become more assertive in pushing its claim, resorting to power projection, particularly against smaller claimants, such as Vietnam and the Philippines. China`s actions have drawn in external powers, including the United States, Japan, and India, a development that exacerbates the problem. The danger is not that the United States and China may come into a direct conflict, but that through error or miscalculation a clash may escalate into a conflict involving external powers. Proposals to prevent conflict and stabilize the area include an agreement to avoid incidents at sea. Also a UN-sponsored conference on the South China Sea could contribute to a long-term resolution of the issue by dealing with competing claims in a semi-enclosed sea and other outstanding issues.
Structure and Properties of EN AC AlSi12 Alloy Reinforced by Ceramic Fibre and Particles
Dobrzanki Leszek A.,Kremzer Marek 한국분말야금학회 2006 한국분말야금학회 학술대회논문집 Vol.2006 No.1
The paper presents the possibilities of obtaining new composite materials based on sintered porous ceramics with particles and fibre of infiltrated by aluminum alloy. The EN AC - AlSi12 alloy features the matrix material, whereas the RF50AX-301 preform, of Saffil Automotive, was used as the reinforcement. Examinations of ceramics preforms permeability were made. Metallographic examination of composite materials made on light microscope and in scanning electron microscope show that aluminum alloys fill micropores in the matrix. New composite materials show twice higher value of hardness in comparison with matrix. Results indicate that it is possible to infiltrate porous ceramic with liquid aluminum alloy to obtain new composite materials were advantageous properties of each component are connected.
