        Feline lymphoma is the most common haemostatic neoplasm in cats and has higher prevalence in cats than in human and other domestic animals. Feline lymphoma review addresses some aspects of the epidemiology, clinical features, imminopenotyping, biologic behavior, genetics of viruses that cause a variety of hematopoietic disorders in cats, cytogenetic chromosome abnormalities and chemotherapy. Feline leukemia virus (FeLV) and feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV) status of cats are associated among lymphoma, leukemia and other diseases. The viruses described may be different pattern of geographical distribution, and the diseases manifestations may vary according to environmental and / or genetic characteristics and clinical feature of the cat. The pathogenic mechanisms used by these viruses are of most interest since they may recapitulate growth dysregulation steps also occurring in other hematopoietc malignancies. Feline lymphoma have become the focus of veterinarian and researcher and representing, since in most cases no specific antiviral treatment and chemotherapy for feline lymphoma, also need a further challenge for future basic research on characteristics and pathogenesis of feline lymphoma since little is known until recently.

      • Comparative Genomics in Veterinaiy Medicine

        The gene maps of several species, particularly human, primate and mouse have been almost completed in the growth of genetic maps. Recently, particularly cattle, pig and rat have been expanded by a large increase in assigned genes. Interest in livestock gene mapping has prompted an international collaboration to comparative gene maps, especially driven by the hope to resolve economically, experimental medicine model to find important quantitative traits. Most of the maps were developed with physical methods similar to those used for the human map. To develop these tools for comparative gene mapping, we have used a radiation hybrid (RH) map, Zoo-FISH, Sky-F1SH, DOP-PCR, a physical map, and a draft sequence of contigs of the linkage regions. Since the previous reports, there have been notable advances in the growth of several gene maps, particularly those of domestic species. An important component to comparative genetic analysis is the demonstration of homology between the mapped genes. International commitments and ongoing developments promise imminent advances in gene mapping of several agricultural species. Table 1 presents the status of haploid numbers and conserved linkage maps for 25 species of the mammal orders. It is very apparent that there are several regions of extensive homology within primates. This type analysis not only provides a context for assessing linkage conservation during mammalian evolution, but also reveals information gaps in the physical map of model species relative to the human map. The dog is an excellent model for molecular and cellular studies of genetic disorders. Although the syntenic relationships between specific i球ions of the canine and human genomes have already been established, there is little specific information on the conservation of gene order along a chromosome. We hopes to establishing homology between genetic loci in different species by investigator who report gene mapping homologies as well as inclusion of genetic disease traits in veterinary medicine.

      • Immunological Responses of Dogs Experimentally Infectedwith Dirofilaria immitis

        Th ree dogs were experimen tally in fected w ithDirofila ria im mitis. All dogs w ere eu th an ised at 30,36and 37 weeks after inoculation of D. immitis for therecovery of adult worms. Three cases accounted to42.91 % recovery of inoculated worms.Serum samplesfrom dogs experimentally inoculated with D.immitiswere analyzed by ELISA and immunoblottingmethods. Antibody titers of dogs detected by ELISApeaked between 7 and 14 weeks then decreasedbetween weeks 15 to 24 followed by another increaseduring weeks 25 to 30 and persisted throughout theremainde of the experiment period. Analysis of adultD. immitis protein stained with Coomassie brilliantblue R-250 indicated separately more than 10 bands,and the major bands were 22,40,46,56,70,72 and 89kDa. Antigenic identification of extracts antigens ofadults D. immitis by immunoblotting analysisrevealed several bands from pooled sera of patentinfection (30 weeks after inoculation). The detectedbands were 24,70,80 and 110 kDa,22,72 and 84 kDa,and 58 and 72 kDa in dogs 1, 2 and 3, respectively.Results of antibody titers reached high levels on the4th molting stage after inoculation of infective larva(L3), and reinforced previous findings that highmolecular weight regions are detected in younganimals.

        ELISA에 의한 국내 재래종 산양의 정상상태에서의 혈중 cortisol 농도

        This study was performed to examine the charges of serum cortisol concentrations on the normal conditions in Korean native goats by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA). The Korean native goats were 4 to 30 months old and weighted 6.0 to 28kg. The goats were allowed ad libitum access to water and food. To minimize the stress with handing and blood sampling, animals were adapted for 2 weeks before the experiment. After adaptation, intravenouse catheter was inserted left intact a jugular vein of 6 goats and blood samples were done 2~3 days later. Experimental animals were divided into 2 groups which was non-catheterized and catheterized group in order to examine the effect for changes of serum concentration and circadian rhythm of cortisol. The results were obtained as follows ; The sensitivity of serum cortisol concentration was $20pg/m{\ell}$. The intra-assay and inter-assay coefficient of variation were below 2.5% and 5%, respectively. Serum concentration of cortisol was more higher in noo-catheterized group$(32.84{\pm}16.78ng/m{\ell})$ than catheterized group$(23.20{\pm}10.29ng/m{\ell})$. The difference according to months old in serum concentration of cortisol was the more higber on 4~6 than 7~12 and lowest over 12 months old. A circadian rhythm in the serum concentration of cortisol in Korean native goats was not found significantly with 2 hours sampling intervals.

        A Case of Gastric Adenocarcinoma in a Shih Tzu Dog: Successful Treatment of Early Gastric Cancer

        <P><B>ABSTRACT</B></P><P>A 9-year-old castrated male Shih Tzu dog was referred to us, because of chronic vomiting. The patient’s hematological, radiographic, ultrasonographic, endoscopic and histological examinations were evaluated for diagnosis. Hematologic analysis indicated moderate anemia and azotemia. Based on the imaging studies, an oval-shaped mass was identified in the gastric pylorus area. A proliferative mass was found on endoscopic examination, and we performed biopsy using grasping forceps. The histopathological findings of the biopsy specimens indicated hypertrophic gastritis, and Y-U pyloroplasty was performed. However, histopathological examination of the surgically resected mass revealed tubular adenocarcinoma of the stomach. Then, carboplatin chemotherapy was performed 4 times for 13 weeks. Clinical signs, such as vomiting, were resolved gradually after surgery and chemotherapy, and the patient’s condition was managed favorably until recently (30 months after surgery). This case report describes clinical features, imaging studies, endoscopic characteristics and histopathological and immunohistochemical features of gastric tubular adenocarcinoma as early gastric cancer in a dog.</P>

        Hemostatic Dysfunction in a Dog with Mammary Gland Carcinoma

        Hypercoagulability is the most common coagulopathy seen in dogs with neoplasia, whereas a hypocoagulable state is relatively rare. A 16-year-old spayed female miniature Schnauzer presented with bilateral epistaxis, bilateral hindlimb swelling, and lameness. Previously, the dog was diagnosed with inter- mediate grade solid carcinoma after mastectomy, and then showed generalized ecchymoses on the abdomen and bilateral hindlimbs on presentation. Labora- tory tests revealed a hypocoagulable state, including thrombocytopenia, hypo- fibrinogenemia, and delayed prothrombin and activated partial thromboplastin time. Thromboelastography demonstrated a prolonged K time with a decreased alpha angle and low maximal amplitude, reflecting a decrease in clot strength. The hypocoagulable state of disseminated intravascular coagulopathy was spec- ulated based on the presence of an underlying tumor, clinical symptoms, and laboratory results of the hypocoagulable state. This case shows the incidence of hemostatic dysfunction as a paraneoplastic syndrome in a dog with mammary gland carcinoma.

        Application of Artificial Insemination Technology for Dairy Breeding in Mongolia

        This study was focused on improvement of milk production in Mongolian dairy industry by artificial insemination (AI) technology, supported by ODA of KOICA in Republic of Korea. This program was started in January 2009 and it is in years. This manuscript summarized the data especially on estrus synchronization and pregnancy establishment in dairy cows (Holstein) this year. A total of 81 dairy cows from 4 private farms (38 from Undarmal milk and that of 30, 8 and 5 dairy cows from Onjin (Enkhbayer), Jargalant, and BRM School farms respectively) were synchronized with 5 ml Lutalyse (i.m.) in the dump of dairy cows and then estrus was detected 2 to 3 days after injection. The synchronized dairy cows were inseminated with 0.5 ml dairy frozen semen by conventional artificial insemination (AI) techniques. Pregnancy was diagnosed about 60 days after AI by palpation method. About 96.3% (78/81) of synchronized cows were responded to single injection. Total 75 over 78 dairy cows (90.1%) inseminated were diagnosed as pregnant. The estrus induction and pregnancy rates were very effective using Lutalyse injection and conventional AI techniques in Mongolian dairy cow. The present results indicated that AI after estrus induction in Mongolian dairy cows could be applied to dairy breeding technology for improving breeding efficiency and milk production of the country.

        A Case of Cleft Palate in Holstein Calf

        This study reports onthe cleft palate in a female Holstein calf at 30 days of age. The cleft palate was observed macroscopically and radiographically in the upper jaw. The palatal fissure was a median palatal fissure. The soft palate was completely cloven. The hard palate, however, was cloven except for a length of 8.17 ㎜ at the rostral part. The dental cushion was 12.81 ㎜ wide. The length of the right and left nasal cavity was 4.80 ㎝ and 7.81 ㎝, respectively. Their lengths were shorter than normal. The lateral perpendicular palates of the palatine bones and the lateral palatine processes of the maxillae were not fused with each other.
