        Incidence and Mortality after Distal Radius Fractures in Adults Aged 50 Years and Older in Korea

        <P>The purpose of this study was to assess the incidence and mortality of distal radius fracture among patients 50 years of age and older with diagnosis code (ICD10; S52.5, S52.6) and treatment code using a nationwide claims database from 2008 to 2012. All patients were followed using patient identification code to identify deaths. Standardized mortality ratios (SMRs) of distal radius fracture were calculated based on age and gender-specific rates in the entire Korean population. The number of distal radius fractures increased by 54.2% over the 5-year study (48,145 in 2008 and 74,240 in 2012). The incidence of distal radius fracture increased from 367.4/100,000 in 2008 to 474.1/100,000 in 2012. The cumulative mortality rate over the first 12 months after distal radius fracture was decreased from 2.0% (968/48,145) in 2008 to 1.4% (1,045/74,240) in 2012. The mean year mortality over 5 years in men (2.6%, 1,279/50,128) over the first 12 months was 1.7-times higher than in women (1.5%, 3,952/257,045). The mean of SMR of distal radius fracture at 1 year post-fracture was 1.45 in men and 1.17 in women. This study using a nationwide database demonstrates that the distal radius fractures are increasing with a decreasing mortality in Korea.</P>

        Investigation on the Behavior of Stacked Devices Within Output Drivers Under ESD Conditions

        <P>This work investigates the robustness of a stacked or cascoded driver under electrostatic discharge (ESD) events. Using output driver circuits in an actual I/O system with predrivers and rail-based power clamps, the impacts of all possible predriver connections and stacked-driver sizing are examined with the very fast transmission line pulse. It is verified that, when the input of the predriver connected to the top MOSFET is grounded, the failure current (<I>IT</I>2) is improved by ~ 110%, compared to the worst case where both predriver inputs are tied to VDD. Also, a simple trigger circuit which guarantees the electrical connection for better ESD immunity is proposed.</P>

        Current Status of ITER Vacuum Vessel Design Activities in Korea

        The engineering design of the ITER vacuum vessel (VV) has been undertaken mainly by ITER IT (International Team) with the help of several ITER participant parties. Korea has been involved in the detail design work of the vacuum vessel under the ITA (ITER Transitional Arrangements) task, especially in the field of the manufacturing feasibility of the port and in-wall shielding. In this paper, the current status of ITER vacuum vessel design activities, including in-wall shielding and upper port, performed in Korea is reported. The manufacturability of the VV and in-wall shielding is also investigated, and the results are presented.

        본 논문에서는 LCD backlight 구동을 위한 Dual charge pump inverter를 제안하였다. 제안 회로는 넓은 입력 및 부하 범위에서 영전압 스위칭 (Zero Voltage Switching) 동작을 보장하여 효율이 높은 장점을 가진다. 기존 full bridge 방식의 회로와 비교하여 동등한 수준의 소자 전압 스트레스를 가지며, 트랜스포머 1차측 양단전압을 Full_Bridge 방식에 비해 2배로 만들 수 있어 트랜스포머의 턴비 감소 효과를 얻을 수 있다. 또한 각 소자 전류 스트레스를 기존 대비 1/2로 줄일 수 있는 장점을 가진다. 위와 같이 제안한 회로의 타당성 검증을 위해 시뮬레이션과 40인치 LCD Pannel에 적용하여 실험을 수행하였다.

      • 방자전: 관객참여 인터랙티브 미디어 공연

        본 논문에서는 단순 관람의 공연 형식을 확장하여 관객이 다양한 형식으로 직접 공연에 참여하는 새로운 형태의 공연을 제안한다. 디지털 기술을 활용하여 관객이 공연에 참여하는 다양한 기법 (관객 캐릭터, 협력 게임, 인터랙티브 무대효과)을 소개한다. 관객캐릭터는 관객의 얼굴이 맵핑된 디지털 배우로 등장인물로 공연에 참여하며, 실제 배우와 함께 공연을 진행한다. 협력 게임은 배우와 관람객이 함께 협력하여 특정 상황을 극복하는 게임적인 기법이다. 인터랙티브 무대효과는 관람객의 호응도를 이용하여 공연 무대의 효과를 인터랙티브하게 변화시키는 기법이다. 본 공연을 통해 관객은 공연에 대한 몰입도를 표출하면서 공연 스토리 전개와 영상제어에 참여할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 구현된 기법을 테스트하기 위해 관객 참여 인터랙티브 공연을 기획하여 실제로 공연중에 나타날 수 있는 다양한 가능성과 문제점을 도출하고 기술하였다. In this paper, we propose a new type of performance by extending the conventional format of the performance where audiences participate in a variety of ways. Utilizing digital technology, we propose various types of techniques (the audience character, collaborative games, interactive stage effect ) that the audience participates in the performance. The audience participates in the performance as digital characters. The audience’s face is mapped into the characters and they perform with the actors. The game is performend in cooperation with the actors and audience-specific techniques to cope with the situation in the game. Interactive effects of stage performances are changing stage environment. Through three techniques, audiences express commitments and participate in the control of performance and visual stories. During the test of the implementation, we examined an interactive audience participation, and derived a wide range of possibilities and the problems described.

        Premature constriction of the ductus arteriosus is rare, but it can occur during fetal life idiopathically or secondaryto medications or structural lesions. Premature constriction of the ductus arteriosus can lead to progressive rightheart dysfunction, heart failure, subsequent hydrops fetalis, and even fetal death. Herein, we describe a case offetal ductus arteriosus constriction of unknown etiology with a severely enlarged and hypertrophied right ventricle,which resolved dramatically soon after birth.

        뉴미디어의 발달은 인터랙티브 콘텐츠를 대중화하고 많은 디자이너들의 작업 영역을 확장하는데 도움을 주고 있다. 이는 디자인 작품이 단순히 디자이너 개인의 자율성을 표현하거나 혹은 정보를 전달하는 것을 뛰어 넘어 현 시대의 사회적 이슈를 함께 고민하고 이를 관객들과 소통할 수 있는 매개체로서의 역할을 가능하게 한다. 본 논문에서는 뉴미디어 기부 시스템를 소개하고 이를 위해 개발된 콘텐츠 사례를 설명한다. 관람객들은 인터랙티브 콘텐츠를 체험하면서 관련된 사회적 문제를 인식하고 관련 정보를 습득하고 동시에 기부행위에 함께 참여할 수 있는 기회를 제공한다. 우선 본 연구에서 추구하는 기부 시스템의 개념을 정의하고 전체 시스템 구성에 대해 소개한다. 이를 테스트하기 위해 기획된 3 가지 기부 콘텐츠 사례(식량기부, 헌혈, 지구온난화)를 소개하고 각각의 구현방법과 기능에 대해 설명한다. The development of new media and interactive contents enables many designers extend theirs works. This design work can express the autonomy of individual designers, and convey information beyond that of the present day struggling with social issues. It serves as a medium to communicate with the audiences. In this paper, we introduce a framework for new media donation system and describe the development of the content. Audiences experience the interactive content, while they get the information related to social issues. The proposed system provides an opportunity for the audience to learn and act together by participating in the donation system. This study defines the concept of a donation system and introduces the overall system configuration. To test this, three examples are given with different social issues such as food donation, blood donation and global warming. The paper also introduces how to implement the donation system.

      • 『화학전지실험을 통한 수준별 수업효과분석』 연구

        After removing the dry cells from the table clock, if we connect two electric terminals which are stuck into the lemon, the clock will not operate. But it will operate when we connect two electric terminals which are put into the orange juice beaker. To analyze this reason, this study was held against 160 third-year students of the high school for entering the university in Cheongju City. I divided them into two groups, each 80 students; experiment group and non-experiment group (general, traditional group). Also, according to their cognitive standards, I divided each group into two groups again, each 40 students; deepening group and supplementary group. In the experiment group, by using the quantitative numerical values, not the abstractive concepts, I analyzed the classroom activity effects after experimenting to find the answers of the electric current, voltage, resistance and electromotive force. And in the non-experiment group, I analyzed the classroom activity effects about how the concepts had been changed and how long this would be effective, through the classical explanatory teaching method. After examining the students about their prenotions before classroom activity with 6 questions which were made about the chemical cell concepts and quantitative relations, I analyzed the degree of the notion development just after the classroom activity and, three months later, analyzed the notion development and the continuity of the classroom activity again. And I've got the results of the gradual classroom activity of my own teaching method like the followings. 1. In this study, after the classroom activities, in the possibility of the correct answers, the scientific notion development of the experiment group was higher than that of the non-experiment group, and, also, in the experiment group itself, the scientific notion development of the supplementary group was higher than that of the deepening group, as they completed their research procedure steps. 2. The classroom activity effects of the experiment group have increased much higher than that of the non-experiment group because of the students' voluntary learning attitude and participation, for the classroom activity through the experiments granted more active learning motives than the explanation-oriented classroom activity did. 3. Among the experiment group which used quantitative values, the classroom activity effects of the deepening group students were higher and more continuous than those of the supplementary group students. This proves that the learning of the idea which has been experienced by themselves is more continuous for the students with higher cognitive standards than the structuring of the idea by the concepts which are learned by the classical explanatory method. 4. If we look over the contents which each group has described, we can see that the experiment group has described the various and extensive idea, while the non-experiment group has described the concepts, without any change, which they learned in the classroom activity.

      • 레크리에이션 지도자의 프로그램 개발 실태에 관한 연구

          The purpose of this study was to review the present conditions and the development of programs of recreation instructors in order to help the instructors who want to understand their job systematically, and to give the right guidelines for professional instructions, acts, and roles of recreation instructors. The study was done on 270 recreation instructors residing in the region of Seoul and Kyongki. The method of data collection was Convenience sampling method For the data analysis, SPSS 10.0 for window package was used. The study was on the assumption that there were significant differences in dependent variables such as frequency of program development, subject, field, source of idea, and reaction of participants according to background variables such as gender, marriage status, age, major, academic record, instruction experience, and monthly income. The result showed that there were differences in the dependent variables according to the background variables. In brief, the following conclusion can be made. First, the result showed that the more age, instruction experience, and monthly income which were the background variables get high, the more the frequency of program development increased. This explains that professional instructors work harder than amateur instructors to develop their own program rather than copying from others. Second, it may vary according to the background variables but most of the instructors tend to develop adult programs. Instructors with lower level of age, academic record, instruction experience, and monthly income develop programs for children and teenagers. On the other hand, instructors with higher level of age, academic record, instruction experience, and monthly income develop programs for adults. Especially, instructors over 36 years old and have married showed interests in programs for the elders. Third for the development field, most of the instructors preferred the development of game but many female instructors more interest in dancing. Also, the result showed that instructors with higher academic record, instruction experience, and monthly income focused on physical activities, humor, speech, and interview methods. Fourth, most of the instructors got the ideas from off coworkers and friends in the same field. More specifically male instructors got the ideas from off internet and female instructors got the ideas from off TV, radio, and movies, Fifth, when the instructors applied to their own programs, the participants seemed to show generally good reaction. however, instructors with lower level of age, instruction experience, and monthly income said the participants showed us medial reaction.
