Preparation of large Cu3Sn single crystal by Czochralski method

Cu3Sn was recently predicted to host topological Dirac fermions, but related research is still in its infancy. The growth of large and high-quality Cu3Sn single crystals is, therefore, highly desired to investigate the possible topological properties. In this work, we report the single crystal growth of Cu3Sn by Czochralski (CZ) method. Crystal structure, chemical composition, and transport properties of Cu3Sn single crystals were analyzed to verify the crystal quality. Notably, compared to the mm-sized crystals from a molten Sn fux, the cm-sized crystals obtained by the CZ method are free from contamination from fux materials, paving the way for the follow-up works.

Ti₃O<SUB>5</SUB> exhibits a metal-insulator transition (MIT) accompanied by a structural change from β- phase to λ-phase at 514 K. During the transition, Ti₃O<SUB>5</SUB> demonstrates significant resistance changes and high thermal energy storage characteristics. To harness the beneficial characteristics of Ti₃O<SUB>5</SUB>, it is essential to develop a growth method that yields homogeneous samples and to control the phase transition temperature. In this study, we successfully synthesized high-quality β-Ti₃O<SUB>5</SUB> and λ-AlxTi₃−xO5 polycrystalline samples using an arc melting method. Furthermore, the structural and physical properties of β-Ti₃O<SUB>5</SUB> and λ-AlxTi₃−xO<SUB>5</SUB> were investigated as a function of the Al doping ratio. Our results suggest that the arc melting method provides an effective way to synthesize high-quality Ti₃O<SUB>5</SUB> and control the transition temperature of the MIT.
Synthesis and characterization of Pb10-xCux(PO4)6O polycrystalline samples

Lee, Kim, et al. reported in July 2023 that a modified lead apatite material, Pb10-xCux(PO4)6O (0.9 < x < 1.1), exhibited superconductivity at room temperature and atmospheric pressure [1, 2]. However, their X-ray diffraction data clearly showed the presence of impurity phases, including Cu2S, raising uncertainty about the sample quality. Subsequent studies have been conducted; however, different samples exhibited various physical properties. To verify the recipe for the sample growth process, we synthesized samples following the methodology outlined in the reference [1, 2]. An analysis of the structure and physical properties of the synthesized sample reaffirms the critical importance of high-quality sample growth.

Sparrow(스패로우)는 C/C++로 작성된 프로그램의 메모리 누수와 버퍼오버런 오류를 자동으로 프로그램 실행전에 찾아주는 도구이다. Sparrow는 실제 현장에서 쓰이는 상용 프로그램의 분석에 유용하게 쓰일 수 있도록 제작되었다. 이를 위해 분석기 엔진은 수십만 라인 이상의 소프트웨어를 적절한 시간과 정확도로 분석하기 할 수 있도록 많은 기술이 적용되었다. 또한 사용자의 편의성을 위해 대상 프로그램의 소스 구조를 자동으로 파악하여 분석을 준비하고, 거짓일 가능성이 높은 알람을 미리 제거하며, 발생한 알람의 원인을 설명해 준다. Sparrow로 httpd-2.2.2를 비롯한 오픈 소프트웨어들을 분석한 결과 실제 오류들을 찾아낼 수 있었다.
Fully Elastic Conductive Films from Viscoelastic Composites

<P>We investigated, for the first time, the conditions where a thermoplastic conductive composite can exhibit completely reversible stretchability at high elongational strains (epsilon = 1.8). We studied a composite of Au nanosheets and a polystyrene-block-polybutadiene-block-polystyrene block copolymer as an example. The composite had an outstandingly low sheet resistance (0.45 Omega/sq). We found that when a thin thermoplastic composite film is placed on a relatively thicker chemically cross-linked elastomer film, it can follow the reversible elastic behavior of the bottom elastomer. Such elasticity comes from the restoration of the block copolymer microstructure. The strong adhesion of the thermoplastic polymer to the metallic fillers is advantageous in the fabrication of mechanically robust, highly conductive, stretchable electrodes. The chemical stability of the Au composite was used to fabricate high luminescence, stretchable electrochemiluminescence displays with a conventional top-bottom electrode setup and with a horizontal electrode setup.</P>
