Side Scan Sonar (SSS) is capable of acquiring real-time data for seabed scouring, bathymetry, mine countermeasurement, etc. In a shipyard, an SSS package is utilized to measure the water depth and find debris in the sea because a sufficient water depth and non-interruption have to be ensured before implementing an underwater installation such as a large thruster. This paper presents the application and operation method of an SSS for the construction of an offshore project.

Safe handling of tritium is a current concern to be solved in the course of tritium removal facility that is being planed in the Wolsong nuclear power plant. Almost all tritium decontamination systems proposed for tritium removal facilities employ catalytic oxidation to water, followed by drying, to remove tritium from gas stream. A series of experiments have been conducted to assess the catalytic recombination characteristics of hydrogen in an air stream by using precious metal/alumina catalysts. The H₂ to H₂O fractional conversion was determined at various catalyst temperatures (25∼150℃) and flow rates (5∼1.5L/min.)

<P>Until now most work on colloidal quantum dot-light-emitting diodes (QLEDs) has been focused on the improvement of the electroluminescent (EL) performance of monochromatic devices, and multi-colored white QLEDs comprising more than one type of QD emitter have been rarely investigated. To demonstrate a white EL as a result of color mixing between blue and yellow, herein a unique combination of two dissimilar QDs of blue- CdZnS/ZnS plus a yellow-emitting Cu-In-S (CIS)/ZnS is used for the formation of the emitting layer (EML) of a multilayered QLED. First, the QLED consisting of a single EML randomly mixed with two QDs is fabricated, however, its EL is dominated by blue emission with the contribution of yellow emission substantially weaker. Thus, another EML configuration is devised in the form of a QD bilayer with two stacking sequences of CdZnS/ZnS//CIS/ZnS QD and<I>vice versa</I>. The QLED with the former stacking sequence shows an overwhelming contribution of blue EL, similar to the mixed QD EML-based device. Upon applying the oppositely stacked QD bilayer of CIS/ZnS//CdZnS/ZnS, however, a bicolored white EL can be successfully achieved by means of the effective extension of the radiative excitonic recombination zone throughout both QD EML regions. Such QD EML configuration-dependent EL results, which are discussed primarily using the proposed device energy level diagram, strongly suggest that the positional design of individual QD emitters is a critical factor for the realization of multicolored, white emissive devices.</P>

Depleted uranium is produced in the process of nuclear fuel fabrication. The hydriding reaction of depleted uranium with hydrogen was carried out in order to develop the temporary storage medium of tritium gas. The depleted uranium was activated at 450℃ under vacuum conditions. The experimental results showed that the equilibrium pressure was lowered and the composition of uranium hydride was increased with lowering the reaction temperature. The similar tendencies were shown in the experiments using deuterium. The equilibrium pressure of deuterium was slightly higher than that of hydrogen. The uranium metal was converted to the powder after the hydriding reaction.

One of problems of the currently used IPv4 addressing-structure is the fact that there is a shortage of IP addresses and mant addresses are being wasted, especially on sub-netting design. The variable subnet masking is a resolution to reduce IP address wasting. We propose an effective subnet IP address calculation and management method on VLSM. Also with proposed subnet IP address management method, a web based subnet allocation and management system is introduced.

Unilobular atrophy or hypoplasia involving the hepatic lobes is not uncommon on the left side. It is distinctly uncommon on the right, where it probably represents an developmental anomaly if no other etiological factor is demonstrable. So we report a case of hypoplasia of right hepatic lobe.
Fabrication of monolithic polymer nanofluidic channels using nanowires as sacrificial templates

<P>We report a facile and reliable method to fabricate polymer-based monolithic nanofluidic channels. The nanochannels are obtained via three main steps: (1) fabrication of nanowire-transistor like structures, which are silver or zinc oxide nanowires horizontally bridging two electrodes made of zinc oxide on SiO<SUB>2</SUB><I>/</I>Si substrates; (2) casting and curing polyimide solution on the nanowire structures; and (3) selective etching of the nanowire and electrode templates against the polyimide substrates. This process leads to the production of nanochannels with a diameter down to ∼ 50 nm. Our method is based on nanowires that are chemically synthesized whereas nanopattern fabrication conventionally relies on expensive equipment. Moreover, the polymer nanochannels are fabricated monolithically while a process of bonding two different materials is required in traditional methods where leakage problems are often identified at the interface. Construction of nanofluidic circuitry could be expected in the future based on the current work. </P>
