      • Comparison of controlled ovarian stimulation outcomes for fertility preservation in women with breast cancer according to KI-67, histologic grade, pathologic type, and cancer stage

        Objective: This study aims to analyze that specific prognostic factors such as Ki-67 value, histologic grade, pathology type, and cancer stage can affect controlled ovarian stimulation outcomes(COS) for fertility preservation in women with breast cancer. Methods: This retrospective cohort study included 92 patients with breast cancer aged 21-44 who underwent COS from August 2012 to April 2020, excluding patients with previous gonadotoxic therapy history. All COS cycles were conducted letrozole-combined random start GnRH antagonist protocol. COS outcomes were compared according to prognostic factors;Ki-67 (< 30% vs. ≥ 30%), histologic grade (low vs. high), and pathologic type (intraductal carcinoma(IDC) vs. triple-negative breast cancer(TNBC)), and cancer stage (early (I, II) vs. advanced (III, IV)). Multivariate analysis was also conducted to find any parameter that can impact over 10 mature oocytes acquisition. Results: Among the 92 patients, 42 were Ki-67≥30% compared to 49 of Ki-67<30%. The number of oocytes, and initial mature oocytes were comparable between Ki-67<30% and ≥30 group. The maturation rate was significantly higher in Ki-67≥30% group than Ki-67<30% group (57.4±36.8% vs. 44.8±28.3%, p=0.041). The same results were drawn when divided according to IDC or TNBC. The maturation rate was significantly higher in TNBC than the IDC group (73.0±17.6% vs. 47.0±28.1% p=0.001). However, the histologic grade or stage did not show any difference in COS outcomes between high and low grade or early and advanced stages. With multivariate analysis, age and AMH are parameters associated with the acquisition of over 10 mature oocytes (OR 0.863, 95% CI [0.755-0.987], OR 1.408, 95% CI [1.145-1.732], respectively). Conclusion: Either Ki-67 or pathologic type can be a potential reliable marker for predicting COS outcome, especially maturation rate. Further study with larger sample size with specific conditions is necessary to clarify the correlation between breast cancer prognostic factors and COS outcomes.

        Primer 155(GCTGGCGCTG) was the most useful primer with distinctive polymorphic DNA pattern to distinguish between KI races and KJ races. Primer 173(CAGGCGGCGT) showed polymorphic DNA pattern to distinguish isolates of KI-100 race. The specific DNA fragment of 0.6Kb, generated from 88-62 of KJ-201 race by RAPD with primer 412)TGCGCCGCTG), was promising as a molecular marker to identify the isolate.

        大豆에 있어서 Gamma ray 感受性의 品種間 差異

        大豆 放射線 育種의 한가지 基礎硏究로서 Gamma ray에 對한 感受性의 品種間 差에 對하여 試驗한 바 그 結果를 要約하면 다음과 같다. (1) Gamma ray 照射에 따라서 高線量에서는 發芽率이 大體로 抑制傾向을 보인 것이 많았다. Hill 만을 全線量(15~60kR)에서 發芽率이 增大되었다. (2) 全品種이 Gamma ray 照射에 依해 發芽期間이 延長되었으나 忠北白과 益山만은 低線量에서는 도리어 短縮되는 傾向을 表示하고 있다. (3) 上胚軸長은 全體的으로 減少 傾向을 보였으나 忠北白과 益山은 低線量에서는 도리어 增大傾向을 보였다. (4) 下胚軸長도 全體的으로 減少 傾向을 보였으나 Hill만은 全線量에서, 益山을 除한 全品種이 15kR에서 增大傾向을 보였다. (5) 葉面指數는 全品種이 全線量에 增大되었다. (6) 莖長은 益山과 Hill에서는 15~35kR 에서 增大되고 45kR 以上에서 減少되었으며 基他 品種은 全線量에서 減少되었다. (7) 葉長은 거의 全照射區에서 減少되었으나 金豆益山 및 Hill의 15 kR 增大되는 傾向이 있었다. (8) Gamma ray 照射에 依하여 12種類 以上의 畸型葉이 相當한 頻度로 出現하였다. (9) 初期부터 여러個의 側枝가 一齊히 發育하여 正常個體보다 生育이 極히 旺盛한 異常 個體도 發見되었다. In order to find out the varietal differences of radiation sensitivity in five soybean varieties, Chung-buk-baek, Yuk-u #3, Keum-du, lk-san, Chang-dan-baek-mok and Hill were treated with 15, 25, 35, 45, and 60 kR of gamma ray. The results gained are summarized as follows; (1) The germination percentage decreased with an increase of gamma ray dosage except the slight stimulation at lower doses in most of the varieties. But Hill was stimulated from all doses. (2) The length of time for germination was prolonged by the gamma ray irradiation in four varieties, while Chung-buk-back and Ik-san were shortened in low dose. (3) The length of epicotyl was reduced in four varieties, the other varieties, Chungbuk-baek and Ik-san were increased in lower doses. (4) The length of hypocotyl was reduced with increasing dosage in five varieties except Hill, which was increased with all doses, while all varieties, except Ik-san were increased at 15 kR. (5) The leaf index was increased proportionally to high dosage. (6) The length of stem was increased between 15 kR and 35 kR in Ik-san and Hill, but reduced in all doses in the other four varieties. (7) in general, the length of leaf was decreased from all doses, but it was increased at the 15 kR level in Keum-do, Ik-san and Hill. (8) More than twelve kinds of abnormal leaf types resulted from various dose levels. (9) More vigorous plants of a bushy type were found in the experiment.

        This study is designed to grasp the elements and situations of stage fright in order to propose a part of ways to cope with it. We make 511 top-class high school players, male and female, in the central districts (Seoul, Inchon, Kyungki, Chungbuk, and Kangweon Province) on object of questionnaire, and get the following results. Through players generally have all-round characters they show weakness in the superiority and emotional stability while showing strength in the sonformity. This fact comes to be related to the elements which cause stage fright. Physiological changes also have many effects on the symptom of stage fright. Especially, stage fright increases when players show sensitive reaction to the self-consciousness of final consequence which comes from the tension or uneasiness of sympathetic nerve, Thus, it turns out that players make use of reducing psychological burden by physical exercise or adjusting the level of demanded result in order to release the stage fright.

        A Numerical Analysis of Fluid Flow,Heat Transfer and Solidification in the Bending-Type Square Billet Continuous Casting Process

        A numerical modeling system was developed which can simulate the transport phenomena of a bending type square billet continuous casting process. Fluid flow and heat transfer were analyzed with a 3-dimensional finite volume method (FVM) with the aid of an effective heat capacity algorithm for the solidification. For a complex geometry of the bending type billet caster, a body-fitted-coordinate (BFC) system was employed. The bent structure of the caster allows a recirculating flow to develop in the upper and outer-radius region and the main stream to shift toward inner radius. This causes the thinner solid shell in the inner radius region than in the outer one. Besides standard operation conditions, we have analyzed the results when casting speed, caster shape, and tundish superheat changes. Lower casting speed makes the solid shell thicker by reducing heat flux from the mold. In the vertical caster, solid shell thickness are more uniform than that in the bending-type in entire region. When superheat increases by 5℃, solid shell thickness at the mold exit becomes thinner by 1 mm.

      • Effect of Extreme Heatwaves on the Mortality and Cellular Immune Responses of Purplish Bifurcate Mussel Mytilisepta virgata (Wiegmann, 1837) (=Septifer virgatus) in Indoor Mesocosm Experiments

        In the rocky intertidal environment, the frequency and duration of heatwaves have increased over the last decade, possibly due to global climate change. Heatwaves often result in lethal or sub-lethal disturbances in benthic animals by changing their metabolic activities. In this study, we investigated the impacts of extreme heatwave stress on the hemocyte functions of Mytilisepta virgata and subsequent mortality to gain a better understanding of the potential causes and consequences of mass mortality events in this mussel during summer. We discriminated three types of hemocytes in the hemolymph, granulocytes, hyalinocytes, and blast-like cells, using flow cytometry and revealed that granulocytes were the major hemocyte involved in cellular defensive activities, such as phagocytosis and reactive oxygen species (ROS) production. For the experiment, mussels were exposed to a 40◦C air temperature for 12 h per day over 5 days under laboratory conditions as a simulated semi-diurnal tidal cycle. Mortality began to occur within 3 days after beginning the experiment, and all mussels had died by the end of the experiment. Flow cytometry indicated that the mussels exposed to high air temperatures produced significantly more ROS than did the control mussels within 2 days after the onset of the experiment, which may have caused oxidative stress. Such high levels of ROS in the hemolymph increased DNA damage in hemocytes after 3 days of exposure and decreased the phagocytosis of hemocytes 4 days after the experiment began. The observed mortality and decline in immune capacity suggested that an extreme heat event occurring in the rocky intertidal ecosystem during summer could exert sublethal to lethal impacts on macrobenthic animals.

        This study was performed to investigate vision training was an effective way to influence fusional vergence and asthenopic symptoms in case of convergence excess and divergence excess. The change was examined weekly at the clinic during the 7 week vision training. According to the results, MISTERY CIRCLE vision training methods improved the binocular vision function and sensation symptoms. For Worth 4 Dot test, Howell test card and fusion reserve test showed fusion rate changes. The study proved that visio training methods for patients with binocular vision was effective for the improvement of the phoria, function and sensation symptoms of these patients.

        활동적 생활습관과 복합운동이 인슐린 저항성에 미치는 영향

        The aim of the current study was to examine the changes of body composition, insulin resistance, blood lipid profiles and inflammatory markers following to spontaneous or controlled exercise participation in Korean adults selected from the general population. Subjects with previous diagnosis of diabetes were divided into 2 groups based upon spontaneous exercise participation for using a cross-sectional approach as active group (n=16) and non-active group (n=16). Additionally, we analyzed the effects of a 12 week exercise intervention program by the comparison of between exercise group (n=12) and control group (n=12). We measured anthropometric factors (BMI, percent body fat, WHR, and abdominal fat area by CT scanning), BP, blood levels of glucose, lipid profiles, fibrinogen, CRP, leptin, HbA1c, PAI-1, HOMA, OGTT and physical fitness. Independent t-tests were used to assess differences between active and non-active groups. Additionally, 2-way repeated ANOVA for group and time was used to compare the changes after a 12 week exercise intervention program. Significance was accepted at p<0.05. In cross sectional comparison, active group showed significantly (p<0.05) lower in WHR, visceral fat area, VSR, blood levels of TG, HbA1c and CRP than non-active group. Active group had a lower trend for HOMA-IR than non-active group, and showed significantly (p<0.05) lower in glucose response area of OGTT than non-active group. Exercise group showed a significant (p<0.05) decrease in WHR and HOMA-IR whereas control group showed no changes. In these results, we confirmed that continuous and regular exercise participation has a positive effect on insulin resistance with the decrease of WHR, visceral fat area and blood level of TG. We think that the more long-term exercise intervention may be effective improvement on insulin resistance.

        Expression of Wnt Target Genes in Solid Pseudopapillary Tumor of the Pancreas: A Pilot Study

        OBJECTIVES:: Solid pseudopapillary tumor (SPT) of the pancreas is very rare. This study was performed to analyze the expression of Wnt signal target genes (matrix metalloproteinase-7 [MMP-7], cyclin-D1, and c-myc) and Ki-67 in resected SPTs to determine their clinicopathologic characteristics according to their expression. METHODS:: From January 1995 to December 2005, 23 patients underwent pancreatic resections for SPT of the pancreas. Among 23 formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded tissues, 12 were evaluated as a pilot study. Immunohistochemistry was performed using various detection and antigen retrieval methods to detect MMP-7, cyclin-D1, c-myc, and Ki-67. The expression of Wnt target genes was correlated with clinicopathologic features of the patients. RESULTS:: Solid pseudopapillary tumors of the pancreas always showed cytoplasmic/nuclear accumulation of &bgr;-catenin, frequent expression of cyclin-D1, and low proliferation index. MMP-7, cyclin-D1, c-myc, and Ki-67 were not correlated with microscopic features suggesting malignant potential (P > 0.05). Tumor size was closely related to microscopic features of malignant potential and apparently has an inverse relationship with the expression of cyclin-D1 and Ki-67 (P < 0.05). CONCLUSIONS:: Low proliferative index and associated MMP-7 expression may cause an unpredictable clinical course in this tumor. Subtle changes in the intracellular environment, not pathologic (morphologic) changes, may elucidate the unpredictable clinical course of this tumor.

        부산 대도시권의 공간재편 과정의 이해와 특성 분석

        This study aims to analyzed the change of the population size, industry, intra-urban migration in Busan metropolitan area between 2000 and 2010. This study has focused on the spatial redistribution process and pattern for the urban management and policy. The major findings of the study are as follows. First, the ratio of population of the urban city centre to the sub-urban has continuously decreased, especially those Jeonggwan-myun, Mulgeum-eup, Jangyu-myun of new town area greatly increased. Second, the ratio of industry annual average is 5% increase, and the ratio of the manufacturing industry and consumer service is never changed. As well consumer service and consumer service are area-based service industry increased 6% annual average. It is shown a particular population distribution tends to decrease in a particular deindustrialization on obstruction factor where affects in urban growth. Third, population migration trend for different spatial distribution corresponds to regional characteristics differently. Since 2010, the ratio of population migration increased and especially, such an increasing phenomenon is more prominent in sub-urban and rural areas than urban areas. Finally, Netminer 3.0 analysis the change of the centrism trend for different spatial redistribution corresponds to regional characteristics differently. So, this study concludes with some policy implications a need of further study.
