This paper is intended to study 〈Jumong Myth〉 which's written by many writers newly. It seems to me that there are characters which are represented images of Jumong and Yoohwa in 〈Jumong Myth〉 in their works. First of all, it seems that they showed aspects of Jumong or Yoohwa as the Hero of the founder or the Hero's supporter of wisdom in their poems 『Dongmaeng』 and 『The Four Pillars and Eight Characters of Go, Ju-mong as the founder of Goguryeo Dongmyeongsungwang』by Seo, Jeong-ju, 『Lady Yoohwa』by Song Su-kwon and 『The sky of Jumong』 by Yoon Keum-cho. Only Seo‘s characters are expressed a destiny and a right but Song and Yoon's are represented the Hero itself in the narrative process through agony of realities. The secondly, it seems that Lee, Kwang-su showed aspects of Jumong as a so n?a husband?a father through the life of the Hero in his work 『Dongmyeongwang of love』. And Song Ha-chun showed aspects of Yoohwa in 〈Jumong Myth〉 through a woman as a unusual birth of process and preservation of life in his work 『Daughters of Haback』. In conclusion, it seems that their works either poems or novels are represented and recreated various images of Jumong and Yoohwa in 〈Jumong Myth〉.

Protective Effect of Curcumin and Aqueous Extract of Onchengyeum on CCl_(4)-induced Hepatotoxicity

An aqueous extract of oriental herbal composition named Onchengyeum and curcumin, an antioxidant isolated from turmeric (Curcuma longa Linné) reduced hepatotoxicity induced by carbon tetrachloride (CCl_(4)). Improved liver function was observed by measuring the activities of aspartate aminotransferase (AST), alanine aminotransferase (ALT), alkaline phosphatase (ALP), blood urea nitrogen (BUN), creatinine (CRE), total cholesterol (TCHO), triglyceride (TG), low density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-CHO), high density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-CHO), total protein (TP), albumin (ALB) and total bilirubin (BIL) in serum. Hepatic parameters monitored were levels of cholesterol (CHO), triglyceride (TG), malondialdehyde (MDA) and content of cytochrome P450 (CYP), level of glutathione (GSH), activities of NADPH-CYP reductase, superoxide dismutase (SOD), catalase (CAT), glutathione S-transferase (GST), glutathione reductase (GR), glutathione peroxidase (GPx). The histopathological examination showed that the treatment of Onchengyeum and curcumin relieved the ballooning degeneration of hepatocytes which had been generated by CCl_(4). The results suggested that hepatoprotective effects of Onchengyeum and curcumin possibly are due to their promising antioxidative activity.

Iridology, developed more than 100 years ago, is the diagnosis of medical conditions through noting irregularities of the pigmentation in the iris The purpose of this study is to compare interrelation between CVA, hypertension family history and cardio-renal connective tissue in Iris Constitution through iris constitution examination. The subjects consist of 114 patients who were examined in Iris Constitution at Chonju Oriental Medicine Hospital attached to Wonkwang Univ. from September. 1St. 2000 to August. 31th. 2002. 1. In the distribution of Iris Constitution, among of 79cases, There are neurogenic type 13cases, abdominal connective tissue weakness constitution 31 cases, cardio-renal connective tissue weakness constitution 6 cases, cholesterol 7 cases and others 22 case in control group. 2. There are familial history of CVA and hypertention 32 cases, no familial history of CVA and hypertention1 3 cases, in 35cases of experimental group. These results imply that there is meaningfulness of interrelation between cardio-renal connective tissue weakness constitution and. CVA, hypertention.

This is due to lack of exercises and an excessive intake of high calorific and fat food which result from changed patterns of eating habits. In this thesis, I have studied the following respects for health management of obese people. 1. The influence of eating habits upon obesity 2. The influence of exercises upon appetite 3. The influence of exercises upon obesity 4. The influence of exercises upon obesity treatment I have particularly summmarized effective exercise cures for obese people on the basis of research papers of scholars at home and abroad.

陽明學과 明末 江西 吉安府의 紳士 : 書院 講學을 中心으로

During the Ming period the Ji'an prefecture was a well known place for its highly developed intellectual circumstances, though it was not an economically prosperous region. It had the huge number of civil service examination degree holders (jinshi 進士), with the ration of 1/3 relative to the total number of the degree holder in the Jiangxi province. About for 100 years during the reigns from Hungwu (洪武 1368~1398) to Chenghua (1465-1487), the ratio of the number of jinshi reached to the 10% of the total number of jinshi through whole country. During his stay in the official position as the governor of southern Jiangxi(南??巡撫), Wang Yang-ming concretely developed his own philosophy, later called the Learning of Wang Yang-ming. Though he was obsessed with military work in his official position, he energetically conducted academic activities including opening private academy (shuyuan 書院) and teaching students. That is the reason why he had many disciples from Jiangxi province, especially from the Ji'an prefecture. The number of private academy in Jiangxi province was higher than that of any other province in the country due to the activities of Wang Yang-ming and his disciples, and also due to the Jiangxi gentries who were provoked by the former. The gentries of the Ji'an prefecture, influenced by Wnag Yang-ming, also actively opened private academies as a part of their works in the public sphere. Ji'an had the highest number of private academy in the whole province. Regardless it was established before or after the stay of Yang-ming, any private academy of Jiangxi was under the influenced of Yang-ming and his school. When a private academy was to be built or repaired, gentries decided to do that work first before they asked permission from local government. Gentries actively intervened the whole process of construction or of repair including operating public opinion, mobilization of manpower, collection of donation, and even the directing of the work. The management of the academy was also the responsibility of the gentries. Scarcely, local officials raised suggestion for the construction or repair first, but they could launch that work only with an agreement from the side of gentries, and they could complete the work only by the support of the gentries. Any official positioned to this ji'an prefecture maintained a close and friendly relationship with the gentries of this region whether they were Yang-ming's disciples or not. Gentries, on the other hand, secured leadership in their society by the close connection with the local officials, as well as by strengthening the sense of integrity among the members of the gentry group through the scholarly activities in the academy such as lecture and discussion on philosophical issues.

In this experimental paper I have tried to find out how the quantity of each material has influences on the quality of the puffed rice cake, its forms, color and flavor when we make the contents of the puffed rice cake. The ways of making the puffed rice cake are as follows ; we mix the glutinous rice powder with sugar, bean water, liquor, baking powder and some water and after changing the quantity of each material, we steam them in the oven. And then we pound them with a rolling pin on the rolling board and make it a shape of 0.5㎝ thick and 4 ×5㎝ wide and long, and then fry it. The component materials of the well-made puffed rice cake are as follows ; (1) glutinous rice powder : 1 cup sugar : 2½ts bean water : 15 ts liquor : ½ts salt : ⅛ts (2) glutinous rice powder : 1 cup sugar : 1½ts water : 2½ts liquor : 10 ts salt : ⅛ts (3) glutinous rice powder : 1 cup sugar : 1½ts baking powder : ¼ts water :12½ts salt : ⅛ts

農村住宅의 부엌 管理에 關한 調査硏究

Objectives : To find out the ways of rational kitchen administration which decrease the labor quantity in the house affairs researching the present conditions such as, the labor hours of the house wife, kitchen facilities and working distance. Method of Research : In this paper using the questionnaire, I divided the rural kitchen into three categories ; the traditional kitchen, the improved kitchen, and the kitchen of the improved house and I researched and analyzed the rural kitchen facilities and the life of the farm housewife. Results : 1. The leisure time of the farm housewife is shorter than that of the urban housewife and the average working hours of the farm housewife (11.51 hours a day) are longer than those of the urban housewife. 2. The kitchen facilities of the improved are a little better than those of the traditional but the housewives are satisfied with the traditional kitchen. 3. The working distance of the traditional kitchen is longest (337.5m) 4. The status of the possession of the electric goods in order of priority is electric jar, kettle, and the goods for purchase desired are refrigerator, kettle, and mixer. 5. The order of priority they want to improve is kitchen, water closet and interior decoration. Consequently, for the efficiency of the kitchen administration of the rural housewife, I suggest that the kitchen facilities should be made more conveniently at the time of improving the rural house. I think there should be re-education of the improvement for the consciousness of the rural housewife.

主婦의 敎育水準과 家庭管理行動에 關한 硏究

This study was carried out to investigate the relationship between .educational level and home management behavior of homemakers. The results obtained are as follows : Educational level shows a significant correlation with the total home management behavior. In relation to educational level and subvariance of individual home management behavior, educational level has positive correlation to its planning, creativity, leading and appraisal management behaviors, while negative correlation to houseworking management behavior. And educational level makes no significant correlation to consumptional and human-relational management behavior.
