pH-Responsive Hyaluronic Acid-Based Nanocarrier for Treatment of Rheumatoid Arthritis

<P>To develop a potential nanocarrier for diagnosis and treatment of rheumatoid arthritis (RA), we prepared a hyaluronic acid (HA)-5 beta-cholanic acid (CA) conjugate with an acid-labile ketal linker. This conjugate could self-assemble in aqueous conditions to produce pH-responsive HA-CA nanoparticles as potential carriers of the anti-inflammatory drug methotrexate (MTX). Owing to the pH-sensitive nature of the conjugate, MTX was rapidly released from nanoparticles under mildly acidic conditions similar to the environment of inflamed synovial tissue in RA. In vitro cytotoxicity data showed that pH-responsive HA-CA nanoparticles were non-toxic to RAW 264.7 cells. In vivo biodistribution results confirmed that, after their systemic administration, pH-responsive HA-CA nanoparticles selectively accumulated in the inflamed joints of collagen-induced arthritis mice. These results indicate that pH-responsive HA-CA nanoparticles represent a promising candidate as a drug carrier for RA therapy.</P>
The Infrared Medium-deep Survey. III. Survey of Luminous Quasars at 4.7 ≤ <i>z</i> ≤ 5.4

<P>We present the first results of our survey for high-redshift quasars at 5 less than or similar to z less than or similar to 5.7. The search for quasars in this redshift range has been known to be challenging due to the limitations of the filter sets used in previous studies. We conducted a quasar survey for two specific redshift ranges, 4.60 <= z <= 5.40 and 5.50 <= z <= 6.05, using multi-wavelength data that include observations made with custom-designed filters, is and iz. Using these filters and a new selection technique, we were able to reduce the fraction of interlopers. Through optical spectroscopy, we confirmed six quasars at 4.7 <= z <= 5.4 with -27.4 < M-1450 < -26.4 that recently were discovered independently by another group. We estimated black hole masses and Eddington ratios of four of these quasars from optical and near-infrared spectra, and found that these quasars are undergoing nearly Eddington-limited accretion that is consistent with the rapid growth of supermassive black holes in luminous quasars at z similar to 5.</P>

한국화는 고유의 미학과 가치를 지니며, 현대 한국화는 여러 분야에서 응용되고 있지만, 생성형 AI는 한국 화풍의 이미지 구현에 다소 부족하다 . 이에 생성형 AI 바탕의 한국화 이미지 구현 서비스의 가능성을 확인하고자, 사용자가 프롬프트를 입력하면 한국화로 다양한 스타일의 이미지를 제공하는 프로토타입을 제작해 실험을 진행했다. 실험 결과, 본 컨셉 서비스가 한국화와 한국문화의 홍보에 긍정적인 가능성을 가질 수 있음을 확인하였다.
음악치료전공생의 임상 실습 현장 적응 과정에 대한 합의적 질적연구

본 연구의 목적은 음악치료 전공생들이 임상실습 현장에서 임상과 관련한 다양한 문제들을 어떻게 느끼고 극복하는지 그 적응 과정과 의미를 살펴보는 것이다. 이를 위해 음악치료 전공 수료생 10명을 대상으로 심층면담을 실시하여 합의적 질적 연구 방법으로 분석하였다. 연구 결과 ‘음악치료사로서의 새로운 도전’, ‘임상역량’, ‘음악기술’, ‘수퍼비전 경험’, ‘학위과정’, ‘음악치료사로서의 전문적 성장’, ‘개인내적 성장’ 등의 7개의 영역과 30개의 범주가 도출되었다. 본 연구는 근거기반 학문인 음악치료 임상이 학문적 바탕위에 임상적 기술을 습득하고 수퍼비전을 통해 전문가적 소양을 개발하며 개인내적 성장을 하는 과정임을 확인하였다. 따라서 본 연구는 음악치료전공생이 전문성과 역량을 갖춘 음악치료사로 성장하는 데에 이론적 토대와 실질적 훈련을 위한 필수적이고 통합적인 과정으로서 음악치료 임상실습의 역할을 강조하였다는 점에서 의의를 갖는다. The purpose of this study was to examine the adaptation experience to music therapy practice and the meaning found in the process for music therapy students. For this, the researcher conducted an in-depth interview with 10 students majoring in music therapy and analyzed the interviews using a consensus qualitative method. The results revealed 30 categories in seven domains including “new challenge as a music therapist”, “clinical competency”, “musical technique”, “supervision experience”, “degree course”, “professional growth as a music therapist”, and “personal inner growth.” The findings showed that the clinical practice of music therapy, an evidence-based intervention, could be a process of personal inner growth and developing professional competency through supervision while acquiring clinical skills and building on the academic foundation. It is meaningful that the study emphasized the role of clinical practice of music therapy as an essential and integral process for the theoretical foundation and the practical training by which music therapy students grow as professional and competent music therapists.
DISCOVERY OF A FAINT QUASAR AT <i>z</i> ∼ 6 AND IMPLICATIONS FOR COSMIC REIONIZATION

<P>Recent studies suggest that faint active galactic nuclei may be responsible for the reionization of the universe. Confirmation of this scenario requires spectroscopic identification of faint quasars (M-1450 > -24 mag) at z greater than or similar to 6, but only a very small number of such quasars have been spectroscopically identified so far. Here, we report the discovery of a faint quasar IMS J220417.92+011144.8 at z similar to 6 in a 12.5 deg(2) region of the SA22 field of the Infrared Medium-deep Survey (IMS). The spectrum of the quasar shows a sharp break at similar to 8443 angstrom, with emission lines redshifted to z = 5.944 +/- 0.002 and rest-frame ultraviolet continuum magnitude M-1450 = -23.59 +/- 0.10 AB mag. The discovery of IMS J220417.92+011144.8 is consistent with the expected number of quasars at z similar to 6 estimated from quasar luminosity functions based on previous observations of spectroscopically identified low-luminosity quasars. This suggests that the number of M-1450 similar to 23 mag quasars at z similar to 6 may not be high enough to fully account for the reionization of the universe. In addition, our study demonstrates that faint quasars in the early universe can be identified effectively with a moderately wide and deep near-infrared survey such as the IMS.</P>
