This paper describes an autonomous driving control algorithm based on skid steering for a Robotic Vehicle with Articulated Suspension (RVAS). The driving control algorithm consisted of four parts: speed controller for following the desired speed, trajectory tracking controller to track the desired trajectory, longitudinal tire force distribution algorithm which determines the optimal desired longitudinal tire force and wheel torque controller which determines the wheel torque command at each wheel to keep the slip ratio below the limit value as well as to track the desired tire force. The longitudinal and vertical tire force estimators were designed for optimal tire force distribution and wheel slip control. The dynamic model of the RVAS is validated using vehicle test data. Simulation and vehicle tests were conducted in order to evaluate the proposed driving control algorithm. Based on the simulation and test results, the proposed driving controller was shown to produces satisfactory trajectory tracking performance.

Introduction: Histologic type of lung cancer has important roles for determining treatment strategies and patients` prognosis. Immunohistochemistry may be used to verify neuroendocrine differentiation within tumor. Advanced non-small cell lung cancer with neuroendocrine differentiation is rare form of non-small cell lung cancer. In this report, we presents a case of advanced non-small cell lung cancer with neuroendocrine differentiation. Case: 64-year-old man was admitted to the hospital because of dyspepsia and weight loss (56kg->45.6kg) for one year. Physical examination showed non-specifi c fi ndings. In laboratory fi nding, tumor marker was elevated (CEA 7.05U/ml, PIVKA II 501 mAUg/ ml). The fi ndings on abdominal imaging(Enhanced abdomen & pelvic CT and abdominal ultrasonography) showed multiple variable sized peripheral enhanced, hypervascular liver masses suggesting metastatic liver malignancy. Esophagogastroduodenoscopy and colonoscopy showed no abnormal lesion in stomach, duodenum and colon. For fi nding primary origin, enhance chest CT was done and 46mm mass lesion was detected in left upper lung and mediastinal lymph node metastasis were also detected. PET-CT showed higher fi uorodeoxyglucose(FDG) uptake in left upper lung mass, liver masses and moderate uptake in left hilar lymph node, right ileum, right femur, left femur head. For pathologic confi rm, CT-guided lung biopsy was done, poorly differentiated adenocarcinoma with neuroendocrine differentiation with a few positive for thyroid transcription factor-1(TTF-1), positive for CD56, negative for p63 was confi rmed. Clinical staging was Stage IV(T2aN2M1b). The patient received palliative chemotherapy with gemcitabine with carboplatin(fi rst line) and gefi tinib with nimotuzumab(second line).r

Background: The aim of our study was to evaluate the "diagnosis changed" rate in patients notified as tuberculosis (TB) on the Korean TB surveillance system (KTBS). Methods: A total of 1,273 patients notified as TB cases on the KTBS in one private tertiary hospital in 2011 were enrolled in the present study. Patients were classified into three groups: "diagnosis maintained", "diagnosis changed" (initially notified as TB, but ultimately diagnosed as non-TB), and "administrative error" (notified as TB due to administrative errors). Results: Excluding 17 patients in the "administrative error" group, the "diagnosis maintained" and "diagnosis changed" groups included 1,097 (87.3%) and 159 patients (12.7%), respectively. Common causes of "diagnosis changed" were nontuberculous mycobacterial (NTM) disease (51.7%, 61/118), and pneumonia (17.8%) in cases notified as pulmonary TB, and meningitis (19.5%, 8/41) and Crohn's disease (12.2%) in cases notified as extrapulmonary TB. Being older than 35 years of age (odds ratio [OR], 2.18) and a positive acid-fast bacilli stain (OR, 1.58) were positive predictors and a TB-related radiological finding (OR, 0.42) was a negative predictor for a "diagnosis changed" result via multivariate logistic regression analysis in pulmonary TB cases. Conclusion: Because of a high "diagnosis changed" rate in TB notifications to the KTBS, the TB incidence rate measured by the KTBS may be overestimated. Considering the worldwide trend toward increased NTM disease, the "diagnosis changed" rate may increase over time. Thus, when reporting the annual TB notification rate in Korea, the exclusion of "diagnosis changed" cases is desirable.

Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry (ICP-MS) was developed to measure the inorganic compounds. The plasma generated by 27.12 MHz radio-frequency passes through sampler and skimmer cones of sizes φ1 and φ0.4, respectively. Custom lens system contributes to prevent from contamination of neutral gases and photons in the ICP. The langmuir probe was designed to test the properties of custom lenses. The probe consisted of a single 0.5 mm radius tungsten wire covering Al₂O₃ sleeve and metal support structure. In order to observe the variation of the plasma characteristic corresponding to the position of each lens, metal support structure was designed by each lens position. In this study, the floating potential and ionic saturation current at each lens position were investigated using the current-voltage curve of ICP-MS.

To improve the agricultural environment, utilization of biochar and organic materials from paddy fields gaining importance. This is because the long-term use of inorganic fertilizers aggravates the soil environment, and also because rice paddy is a major source of CH4 and N2O emissions during rice cultivation which involves continuous flooding. Recently, the application of organic materials and biochar to the soil has received increasing attention due to their potential benefits related to soil quality, crop growth, and greenhouse gas emission. This study examines the influence of biochar and straw treatments on rice growth, soil physicochemical properties, and global warming potential in the paddy field. Five treatments were applied for the study: control (Cn), inorganic fertilizer (IF), barley straw biochar (BC), barley straw (BS), and BC + BS. Soil quality after rice harvesting improved in the BC treated group. The yield components of rice were also improved in the BC + BS, compared to other treatments. These effects resulted in increased rice yield and uptake of nutrient contents in the BC + BS treatment. Total fluxes of CH4 and N2O relative to global warming significantly decreased by 37.3% and 65.2% in the BC + BS group than in the IF treatment, respectively. Consequentially, a cropping system with BC and BS is an effective strategy to improve rice productivity and soil quality and also reduce GHG emissions from paddy fields, thereby alleviating global warming.

Background: The gluteus maximus (GM) muscle comprise the lumbo-pelvic complex and is an important stabilizing muscle during leg extension. In patients with low back pain (LBP) with weakness of the GM, spine leads to compensatory muscle activities such as instantaneous increase of the erector spinae (ES) muscle activity. Four-point kneeling arm and leg lift (FKALL) is most common types of lumbopelvic and GM muscles strengthening exercise. We assumed that altered hip position during FKALL may increase thoraco-lumbar stabilizer like GM activity more effectively method. Objects: The purpose of this study was investigated that effects of the three exercise postures on the right-sided GM, internal oblique (IO), external oblique (EO), and multifidus (MF) muscle activities and pelvic kinematic during FKALL. Methods: Twenty eight healthy individuals participated in this study. The exercises were performed three conditions of FKALL (pure FKALL, FKALL with 120° hip flexion of the supporting leg, FKALL with 30° hip abduction of the lifted leg). Participants performed FKALL exercises three times each condition, and motion sensor used to measure pelvic tilt and rotation angle. Results: This study demonstrated that no significant change in pelvic angle during hip movement in the FKALL (p > 0.05). However, the MF and GM muscle activities in FKALL with hip flexion and hip abduction is greater than pure FKALL position (p < 0.001). Conclusion: Our finding suggests that change the posture of the hip joint to facilitate GM muscle activation during trunk stabilization exercises such as the FKALL.
