Use of electric pulp testing elicits painful response in vital teeth. In this study, we examined the excessive time from pain feeling to stimulation disconnection in clinical situation. D626D (Parkell Inc., USA.) scan type electric pulp tester was used in total of 23 young healthy individuals. Each of the right central incisors and first premolars were used as testing teeth. Stimulation disconnection was achieved by EMG in anterior belly of digastric muscle, finger span, and voice and the excessive stimulation time over the sensory threshold was recorded. As a result, we found that the short responses before the stimulation disconnection appeared following order: EMG, finger span, and voice. The EMG disconnection is suggested to be used to reduce the excessive stimulus time in electric pulp testing.

The wide spread of multimedia system demands a wide viewing angle display device which can imform a message to many peoples in open area. This paper is about the design and simulating of a large viewing LED pannel control ASIC(Application Specific Integrated Circuit). This LED pannel control ASIC runs on 16bit micropricessor MC68EC000 and has following functions : 16 line interlaced LED pannel contriller, memory controller, 16 channel priority interrupt cotroller, 2 channel direct memory access controller, 2 channel 12 bit clcok and timer, 2channel infrared remocon receiver, 2 channel RS-23C with 16 byte FIFO, IBMPC/AT compatible keyboard interface, battery battery backuped real time clock and timer,2controller, battery backuped 256 byte SRAM and watch dog timer. The 0.6 micronCMOS Sea of Gate is used to desing the ASIC in amiunt of about 39,000 gates,and it is simulated at 48MHz

The purpose of this study was to investigate if there is any difference in the level of competitive state anxiety according to the level of motor skill before the game and to provide the players with basic data for the mental practice. The subjects of this study consist of 20 men's a middle school tennis players. The experimental group was divided into superior players group and inferior players group. And then by using a CSAI-2 questionnaire, three subfactors of competitive state anxiety, or cognitive state anxiety, somatic state anxiety and state self-confidence were measured. The method of measurement was carried out three times, or one week, one day and two hours before the game. The results of this study were as follows. First, About both cognitive state anxiety and somatic state anxiety, inferior players were significantly higher than superior players. Second, About state self-confidence, superior players were significantly higher than inferior players. Third, As the game was around, both cognitive state anxiety and somatic state anxiety which all the players including superior and inferior players had increased. But the state self-confidence of all players decreased.

기관지천식 환자에서 유도객담을 이용한 기도 염증의 평가

Objectives : This study was performed to investigate the relationship between cell counts, supernatant and lysate ECP levels in sputum, and physiologic markers in adult asthmatic. Methods : Twenty-two patients with mild to moderate persistent asthma, ten patients with acute exacerbated asthma and nine healthy subjects were enrolled. Sputum was induced by inhalation of hypertonic saline, and homogenized with 0.1% dithiothreitol. A total and differential cell was measured in supernatant fluid. Cell pellet was centrifuged, and ECP(supernatant ECP) was measured in supernatant fluid. Cell pellet was reacted with a cellular lysis buffer to release cell-associated ECP, and ECP(lysate ECP) was measured again in supernatant fluid. The ratio of supernatant to lysate ECP was calculated as an index of eosinophil degranulation. Spirometry and methacholine bronchial challenge tests were also performed as physiological markers of asthma. Results : The patients with acute exacerbated asthma showed significantly higher percentage of sputum neutrophil, eosinophil count, concentration of sputum supernatant ECP and ratio of supernatant to lysate ECP than those of normal controls and stable asthmatic patients(p<0.05, respectively). The level of sputum supernatant ECP, supernatant/lysate ECP ratio, and percentage of neutrophil showed negative correlations with pulmonary functions, but no correlations with a degree of bronchial hyperresponsiveness. There was no significant correlations between of serum ECP level and physiological parameters. Conclusion : These results suggest that both neutrophils and eosinophils play roles in the exacerbation of asthma. The sputum supernatant/lysate ECP ratio might be valuable in assessment of activation status of eosinophils in various hypereosinophilic conditions or diseases.

최적화된 허프만 엔트로피 코딩을 적용한 JPEG영상 압축 기법의 구현에 관한 연구

국제표준인 JPEG영상압축기법에서는 4가지 유형의 프로세스로 베이스라인, 확장 DCT기반, 무손실, 계층적 프로세스들을 제시하고 있는데, 이 중에서 베이스라인 프로세스들이 널리 사용되고 있다. 이 베이스라인 프로세스들을 JPEG전문가 그룹(Independent JPEG Group)이 1992년에 구현하는데 그 구현기법은 압축 부호화과정에서 허프만 엔트로피 코딩을 최적화 하고자 전체적인 영상데이터를 3번 스캔(Scan)하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 전체적인 영상 스캔을 2번하여 압축 부호화할 수 있는 구현기법을 제시하며, 이 기법에 의해 영상압축에 소요되는 시간을 약 2.8% 감소시킬 수 있음도 보여준다. The International Standard IS10918-1 called JPEG offers 4 types of processes, baseline, extended DCT-based, lossless, and hierarchical. Among these processes, the baseline processes which is used widely for still image compression are implemented by the Independent JPEG Group of image compression coding experts in 1992. The implementation, to optimize the Huffman entropy coding while encoding an image scans the entire image data three times. In this paper, we propose to use an implementation technique scan the entire image two times and we show that we can save about 2.8% of time required to encode image.

연변 조선족과 한·중 대학생의 영양소 섭취상태 비교

The purpose of this study was to compare nutritional intakes of college students in Seoul and Yanbian by ethnic : Korean, Korean-Chinese, Chinese. The questionnaire were applied to individual interviewing method. Statistical data analysis was completed by SAS 8.0 package program for t-test, ANOVA and multiple comparison. The results of this study were as follows. Average energy intake per day was high in Korean-Chinese. Nutrient Adequacy Ratio(NAR) was highest in iron and lowest in zinc. Mean Adequacy Ratio(MAR) score was 0.68∼0.85 for each group. The indexes of nutritional quality(INQ) were over 1.0 for most nutrients except 0.41 of zinc and 0.76 of calcium. Average energy intake ranked high in Korean-Chinese, Korean and Chinese.

업무에 의한 정신사회적 스트레스가 근골격계 질환의 유병에 미치는 영향을 파악하기 위하여 전화안내원을 대상으로 단면적 조사연구를 수행하였다. 연구 결과 나이, 교육정도, 근무연한, 가사부담 등의 인구학적 변수는 근골격계질환의 유병에 영향을 미치지 않는 것으로 분석되었다. 정신사회적 스트레스 중 업무요구도가 높다고 느끼는 집단에서 그렇지 않은 집단에 비해 근골격계 질환의 유병률이 통계적으로 유의하게 높게 나타났으나 업무재량도나 사회적지지도는 근골격계질환과 유의한 상관관계를 발견할 수 없었다. 그러나 업무요구도는 높고 업무재량도는 낮다고 느끼는 '근무긴장도가 가장 높은 군'은 업무요구도는 낮고 업무재량도는 높다고 느끼는 '근무긴장도가 낮은 군'에 비해 근골격계 질환의 발생위험이 통계적으로 유의하게 높은 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구의 결과는 업무로 인한 정신사회적 스트레스에 대한 인지 정도에 따라 근골격계질환의 유병률이 달라짐을 시사하고 있다. 따라서 작업관련성 근골격계질환의 예방을 위해서는 기존의 인간공학적 접근 이외에 스트레스를 감소시키려는 노력이 동시에 진행되어야 할 것으로 생각한다. A cross-sectional study was conducted to assess the association between perceived occupational psychosocial stress at work and the work-related musculoskeletal disorder(WRMSD) among employees using video display terminals. The study included 111 female telecommunication employees from three companies at ChungBuk province. Cases of WRMSD were defined using symptom questionnaire and physical examination conducted by rehabilitation specialist. Information on demographics, individual factors, and perceived psychosocial stress, were obtained by self-administered questionnaire. For assessing perceived psychosocial stress, we used variables from 'job strain model' proposed by Karasek. Associations between perceived psychosocial stress and WRMSD were assessed by multiple logistic regression models. Forty nine(44% to the total) subjects met our operational definition for WRMSD. Age, seniority, housing load were not associated with WRMSD. Perceived psychosocial stress was associated with WRMSD[odds ratio=3.28, 95% confidence interval: 1.05-10.19]. This study suggests that perceived occupational psychosocial stress is related to the prevalence of WRMSD.

초피 용매 추출물의 항산화성 및 항균성에 관한 연구

The antioxidative and antimicrobial activity were carried on the Chopi(Zanthoxy1um pippentum) extracts by six kinds of solvents in order to find out new natural food additives. Six solvents were used methano(MeOH), n-hexan(hexane), chloroform(CHCl_(3)), ethylacetate(EtOAc), buthano(BuOH), and water(water and methoanol extract(MEex), hexan extract(HEex), chloroform extract(CHex), ethylacetate extract(EAex), and buthanol extract(BUex), water extract(WAex). The antioxdative activities of them extracts were determined by peroxide value(POV), conjugated diene value(CDV) of corn germ oil storaged for 30 days at 60±2℃. These extracts were added as 0.02, 0.1, 0.2% of each extracts and compared with a-tocopherol, and BHT. The antioxidative activities of 0.02% extract were as follows in decreasing order BUex >WAex, BHT, MEex>HEex, EAex, CHex>TOC, and control. While, BUex and CHex among these extracts were shown to be had antimicrobial effects on the microorganism such as Escheria coli, Salmonella typhimurium, Psedomonas aeruginosa, Staphylococcus aureus, and Listeria monocytogenes. Finally to find out the preference of chopi we had made Yugwanzageon (a kind of shallow fried meat ball )by adding chopi powder. The result were similar to control( not added chopi powder ) in case of 0.1% chopi adding Yugwanzageon . (p<0.05) therefore it was thought to be possible that chopi powder was used Yugwanzageon preperation.
