흰쥐에서의 카르복시메칠셀룰로오스나트륨과 겔란검 혼합겔의 유착방지 효과

        권윤환,이시범,이정권,박용덕,박정숙,황성주 한국약제학회 2004 Journal of Pharmaceutical Investigation Vol.34 No.6

The aim of the present study was to investigate the efficacy of a mixed gel formulation composed of sodium carboxymethyl cellulose and gellan gum (Na-CMC gel) for the prevention of adhesions after laminectomv. The anti-adhesive effect of the Na-CMC gel was tested in a controlled randomized study using an animal model of lumbar laminectomv. The animals (60 female Sprague-Dawlev rats) were randomly allocated into two treatment groups to receive the Na-CMC gel on the injured area or no gel (control). The incidence of adhesions and their grade were blindly evaluated at 4. 8 and 12 weeks after surgery. The amount of scar tissue and tenacity were grossly reduced by the Na-CMC gel at postoperative 4. 8. and 12 weeks. The mean adhesion scores were 0.75. 125. and 1.38 at 4. 8. and 12 weeks in the gel-treated group. respectively. No significant inflammatory reaction was observed and the healing of wound was not affected by the Na-CMC gel. The Na-CMC gel reduced the amount of scar formation and tenacity in rat laminectomv model without affecting the healing of operation wound and other complications. Therefore. the Na-CMC gel may be the potential to prevent postsurgical adhesions in clinical state.

Performance Improvement of Grid-Connected Inverter Systems under Unbalanced and Distorted Grid Voltage by Using a PR Controller

Lee, Jong-Hyun,Jeong, Hae-Gwang,Lee, Kyo-Beum The Korean Institute of Electrical Engineers 2012 Journal of Electrical Engineering & Technology Vol.7 No.6

This paper proposes a control method for grid-connected inverter systems under unbalanced and distorted grid voltage. The proposed method can reduce the power ripple caused by the unbalanced condition and compensate for the low-order harmonics of the output currents caused by the distortion of grid voltage. To reduce the power ripple, our method replaces the two conventional PI controllers with one PR controllers in the stationary frame. PR controllers can implement selective harmonic compensation without excessive computational requirements; the use of these controllers simplifies the method. Both the simulated and experimental results agree well with the theoretical analysis.

New Platform for Cytochrome P450 Reaction Combining in Situ Immobilization on Biopolymer

Lee, Jae Hyung,Nam, Dong Heon,Lee, Sahng Ha,Park, Jong Hyun,Park, Si Jae,Lee, Seung Hwan,Park, Chan Beum,Jeong, Ki Jun American Chemical Society 2014 Bioconjugate chemistry Vol.25 No.12

We describe an efficienct chemical conversion platform with in situ immobilization of P450-BM3 on poly(3-hydroxybutyrate) granules. Through fusion with phasin, P450-BM3 is easily immobilized on poly(3-hydroxybutyrate) granules in Escherichia coli. In our work, the immobilized P450 exhibited higher stability and catalytic activity compared to free P450 against changes of pH, temperature, and concentrations of urea and ions. Through quick recovery of immobilized enzyme, the P450–P(3HB) complex successfully catalyzed an O-dealkylation reaction several times with maintained activity. Using the robust P450–P(3HB) complex, we performed a P450-catalyzed reaction on a preparative reactor scale (100 mL) and high-level production (12.3 μM) of 7-hydroxycoumarine from 7-ethoxycoumarin could be achieved.

Graphic Abstract

ACS Electronic Supporting Info

The Microencapsulated Ascorbic Acid Release in vitro and Its Effect on Iron Bioavailability

        Lee, Jun-Beum,Ahn, Joung-Jwa,Lee, Jong-Hwi,Kwak, Hae-Soo The Pharmaceutical Society of Korea 2003 Archives of Pharmacal Research Vol.26 No.10

The present study was carried out to examine the stability of microencapsulated ascorbic acid in simulated-gastric and intestinal situation in vitro and the effect of microencapsulated ascorbic acid on iron bioavailability. Coating materials used were polyglycerol monostearate (PGMS) and medium-chain triacylglycerol (MCT), and core materials were L-ascorbic acid and ferric ammonium sulfate. When ascorbic acid was microencapsulated by MCT, the release of ascorbic acid was 6.3% at pH 5 and 1.32% at pH 2 in simulated-gastric fluids during 60 min. When ascorbic acid was microencapsulated by PGMS, the more ascorbic acid was released in the range of 9.5 to 16.0%. Comparatively, ascorbic acid release increased significantly as 94.7% and 83.8% coated by MCT and PGMS, respectively, for 60 min incubation in simulated-intestinal fluid. In the subsequent study, we tested whether ascorbic acid enhanced the iron bioavailability or not. In results, serum iron content and transferring saturation increased dramatically when subjects consumed milks containing both encapsulated iron and encapsulated ascorbic acid, compared with those when consumed uncapsulated iron or encapsulated iron without ascorbic acid. Therefore, the present data indicated that microencapsulated ascorbic acid with both PGMS and MCT were effective means for fortifying ascorbic acid into milk and for enhancing the iron bioavailability.

Low-cost and energy-efficient asymmetric nickel electrode for alkaline water electrolysis

        Kim, Jong-Hoon,Lee, Jung-Nam,Yoo, Chung-Yul,Lee, Kyo-Beum,Lee, Woong-Moo Elsevier 2015 International journal of hydrogen energy Vol.40 No.34

Abstract

Porous nickel electrodes for alkaline water electrolysis were made in simple manner by sintering nickel powder that was first compressed into nickel foam. The pores inside the sintered body show asymmetrical distribution in size, small pores (∼5 μm) existing near one surface and open structure (pore size: 100–200 μm) at the other surface. Such asymmetric body performs the dual role such that one surface has the electro-catalytic layer for the electrochemical reactions and the other surface has the escaping route of gas/electrolyte mixture. A nickel electrode stack was assembled by incorporating the sintered bodies, polymer separators and multi-functional light-weight gaskets. Two nickel electrodes with a separator between them were enclosed to make a unit cell in the gasket frame which plays the multi-role of electrolyte supply, exit of produced gas and sealing agent. By applying 1.8 V per unit cell, an electrolyzer made of such stacks with electrodes of 200 cm2 surface area displays current of over 80 A at 80 °C over 400 h.

Highlights

Porous nickel electrodes for alkaline water electrolysis were fabricated.

Nickel powder was first compressed into nickel foam and then sintered.

The pores inside the sintered body show asymmetrical distribution in size.

A nickel electrode stack was assembled by incorporating the sintered Ni bodies.

The electrolyzer made of the stack displayed current density of 0.5 A cm−2 at 80 °C.

Vol.31 No.2

Recently multiple word embedding models and sequence models based on RNN have been widely used for sequence labeling in the field of natural language processing. It is essential to find optimal embedding vectors for concatenation. Also, we should address the vanishing gradient problem during the backpropagation. This paper proposes a method using self-attention and ACE for solving the problems. We verified the performance of our proposed method on datasets for sequence labeling such as part of speech tagging and named entity recognition. Our proposed model shows better performance than the state of the art models.
