PEO based polymer-ceramic hybrid solid electrolytes: a review

        Feng Jingnan,Wang Li,Chen Yijun,Wang Peiyu,Zhang Hanrui,He Xiangming 나노기술연구협의회 2021 Nano Convergence Vol.8 No.2

Compared with traditional lead-acid batteries, nickel–cadmium batteries and nickel-hydrogen batteries, lithium-ion batteries (LIBs) are much more environmentally friendly and much higher energy density. Besides, LIBs own the characteristics of no memory effect, high charging and discharging rate, long cycle life and high energy conversion rate. Therefore, LIBs have been widely considered as the most promising power source for mobile devices. Commonly used LIBs contain carbonate based liquid electrolytes. Such electrolytes own high ionic conductivity and excellent wetting ability. However, the use of highly flammable and volatile organic solvents in them may lead to problems like leakage, thermo runaway and parasitic interface reactions, which limit their application. Solid polymer electrolytes (SPEs) can solve these problems, while they also bring new challenges such as poor interfacial contact with electrodes and low ionic conductivity at room temperature. Many approaches have been tried to solve these problems. This article is divided into three parts to introduce polyethylene oxide (PEO) based polymer-ceramic hybrid solid electrolyte, which is one of the most efficient way to improve the performance of SPEs. The first part focuses on polymer-lithium salt (LiX) matrices, including their ionic conduction mechanism and impact factors for their ionic conductivity. In the second part, the influence of both active and passive ceramic fillers on SPEs are reviewed. In the third part, composite SPEs’ preparation methods, including solvent casting and thermocompression, are introduced and compared. Finally, we propose five key points on how to make composite SPEs with high ionic conductivity for reference.

Murrayanine suppresses the proliferation and metastasis of human breast cancer cells via induction of apoptosis and inhibition of RANK/RANKL signaling pathway

zhang Jingnan,Wang Feng,Qu Gengbao,Wang Baokai 한국응용생명화학회 2021 Applied Biological Chemistry (Appl Biol Chem) Vol.64 No.2

Murrayanine and its derivatives have been shown to exhibit anticancer activities against different types of human cancer cells. However, the effects of murrayanine on the proliferation and metastasis of breast cancer cells are yet to be studied. The present study was designed to evaluate the effects of murrayanine on the proliferation and metastasis of human breast cancer via regulation of RANK/RANKL pathway. The results showed RANK/RANKL pathway to be highly activated in human breast cancer tissues and cell lines. However, treatment of the CAMA-1 breast cancer cells with murrayanine (0, 9, 18 and 36 μM) caused a significant (P < 0.05) decline in the expression of RANK, RANKL and OPG in CAMA-1 cells. Additionally, murrayanine inhibited the growth of CAMA-1 cells with an IC50 of 18 μM. The antiproliferative of murrayanine were found be due to its ability to inhibit the expression of RANK, RANKL and OPG in CAMA-1 cells. To unveil if murrayanine exerted its effects via inhibition of RANK/RANKL pathway, the expression of RNAK was knocked down in CAMA-1 cells. It was found that murrayanine and RANK silencing both inhibited the growth CAMA-1 cells via induction of apoptosis. Additionally, murrayanine and RANK silencing both inhibited the migration, invasion and epithelial to mesenchymal transition of the CAMA-1 cells. Taken together, murrayanine exhibits significant anticancer activity against the breast cancer cells via induction of apoptosis and inhibition of RANK/RANKL signaling pathway. These findings suggest that murrayanine may prove to be a beneficial lead molecule for the development of breast cancer chemotherapy.

Effects of ultrasonic treatment on the gel properties of microbial transglutaminase crosslinked soy, whey and soy–whey proteins

        Qiang Cui,Xibo Wang,Guorong Wang,Rui Li,Xiaodan Wang,Shuang Chen,Jingnan Liu,Lianzhou Jiang 한국식품과학회 2019 Food Science and Biotechnology Vol.28 No.5

This paper studied the influences of diverse ultrasonic power treatments on the physico-chemical properties of soy–whey mixed protein induced by microbial transglutaminase. Two groups of 15% (m/v) of protein solution-sole protein (as control group) and mixed protein were prepared and processed under different ultrasonic powers for 30 min. After ultrasonic power treatments, gel properties were significantly increased: under 300 W, the gel hardness of mixed protein reached a maximum of 998.9 g, with its water binding capacity scoring a maximum of 87%. According to the analysis of fluorescence emission spectrum, the fluorescence intensity and maximum absorption peak had changed, for different ultrasonic power treatments had exposed more groups. The Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy also suggested that ultrasonic power treatments could change the secondary structure of gel samples. The scanning electron microscope demonstrated that the network structure of mixed protein gel displayed more regular and uniform after ultrasonic treatments.

Curcumin Ameliorates Reserpine-Induced Gastrointestinal Mucosal Lesions Through Inhibiting IκB-α/NF-κB Pathway and Regulating Expression of Vasoactive Intestinal Peptide and Gastrin in Rats

        Lingli Long,Jingnan Wang,Ningning Chen,Shuhui Zheng,Lanying Shi,Yuxia Xu,Canqiao Luo,Yubin Deng 한국식품영양과학회 2016 Journal of medicinal food Vol.19 No.6

The objective of our study was to investigate whether curcumin protects against reserpine-induced gastrointestinal mucosal lesions (GMLs) in rats and to explore the mechanism of curcumin’s action. Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly divided into four groups: control group, reserpine-treated group, reserpine treatment group with curcumin at high dose (200 mg/kg), and reserpine treatment group with curcumin at low dose (100 mg/kg). Rats in reserpine-treated group were induced by intraperitoneally administered reserpine (0.5 mg/kg) for 28 days. TUNEL staining and hematoxylin and eosin staining were used to evaluate the apoptotic cells and morphologic changes. In addition, to explore the mechanism of curcumin in protecting GMLs, we used serum of experimental rats to assess the level of vasoactive intestinal peptide (VIP), gastrin, interleukin-6, interleukin-10, tumor necrosis factor-α and interferon-γ by ELISA and radioimmunoassay. The protein levels of NF-κB, p-IκB-α, IκB-α, Bcl-2, Bax, and cleaved-caspase-3 were examined by western blot analysis. Data were analyzed with SPSS 19.0 software package. Curcumin treatment prevented tissue damage and cell death in the reserpinetreated rats and effectively decreased inflammatory response and balanced the expression of VIP and gastrin in the reserpinetreated rats. NF-κB, p-IκB-α, Bax, and cleaved-caspase-3 were increased in the reserpine group, but the curcumin high-dose group inhibited them. Curcumin can target the IκB-α/NF-κB pathway to inhibit inflammatory response and regulate the level of VIP and gastrin in reserpine-induced GML rats.

A Panel Analysis on the Cross Border E-commerce Trade: Evidence from ASEAN Countries

Yugang He,Jingnan WANG 한국유통과학회 2019 The Journal of Asian Finance, Economics and Busine Vol.6 No.2

Along with the economic globalization and network generalization, this provides a good opportunity to the development of cross-border ecommerce trade. Based on this background, this paper sets ASEAN countries as an example to exploit the determinants of cross-border ecommerce trade including the export and the import, respectively. The panel data from the year of 1998 to 2016 will be employed to estimate the relationship between cross-border e-commerce trade and relevant variables under the dynamic ordinary least squares and the error correction model. The findings of this paper show that there is a long-run relationship between cross-border e-commerce trade and relevant variables. Generally speaking, the GDP(+) and real exchange rate(-export & +import) have an effect on cross-border e-commerce trade. However, the population (+) and the terms of trade (-) only have an effect on cross-border e-commerce import. The empirical evidences show that the GDP and the real exchange rate always affect the development of cross-border e-commerce trade. Therefore, all ASEAN countries should try their best to develop the economic growth and focus on the exchange rate regime so as to meet the need of crossborder e-commerce trade development.

What Role does China’s Outward Foreign Direct Investment Play in Economic Growth of Korean Peninsula?

( Yugang He ),( Baek-ryul Choi ),( Renhong Wu ),( Jingnan Wang ) 이화여자대학교 통일학연구원 2020 Journal of peace and unification Vol.10 No.2

This paper contributes to the present research stream by exploring the effect of China’s OFDI over the period 2003-2019 in the case of Korean peninsula. On account of the auto-regressive distributed lag model and Granger causality approach of vector error correction, an inference is drawn that China’s OFDI significantly contributes to the economic growth in Korean peninsula whenever in the short run and long run. However, this kind of contribution is asymmetric in which the contribution of China’s OFDI to North Korea’s economic growth is greater than that of South Korea. Moreover, the long-run causality results originate the bi-directional causality between China’s OFDI and economic growth in Korean peninsula.
