        We experienced a 25 year-old male patient with typhoid fever complicated with massive hemoptysis. Pulmonary complication in typhoid fever is very rare and to our knowledge, there has been no report of hemoptysis as a main cause of death with this disease. We herein report a rare case of typhoid fever.

        This Virtual Physics Laboratory for high school students was designed using simulation. This simulation allows us more precise inspection, and cuts down Laboratory costs. The Simulation consist of five parts, that is Newton's laws, motion in gravitational space, friction, collision and rest-contact etc. Each simulation make use of dynamics for both flexible objects as well as solids to get natural motions. It is necessary to model Laboratory for realistic simulation before simulating. We make use of differential equation for realistic simulation, so it need much computing time, we have to model Laboratory simple. We need more efforts in the design of more realistic simulation in three dimensional space.

        Fungus such as Candida albicans is a normal flora that is frequently found in the oral cavity, gastrointestinal tract, genitourinary tract, vaginal mucosa in a normal person. However, candida can cause opportunistic infection in an immune compromised host. Candidiasis has broad spectrum of disease from mucocutaneous infection to invasive or disseminated infection. But, it is rarely reported that candida is associaed with gastrointestinal tract disease in a healthy adult. The case of gastric ulcer associated with candida particularly in a health adult is reported with relevant literature.

        In this paper, we propose a motion retargetting algorithm between two characters. Both character share the same structure but different joint lengths. The algorithm proposed in this paper is based on inverse kinematics. Motion by each frame is recognized and converted to a target motion using differential kinematics, which allows us realtime motion conversion. Because our control includes motion at acceletion level, we can get more accurate retargetted motion compared to the other methods done at a velocity level. This algorithm sets a motion characteristic function at the tip of the articulated rigid body and faithfully keeps the characteristics according to the scale of a body.

      • 최적화 기법을 이용한 동작 재활용

        This paper presents a new method for quaternion based articulated rigid body animation by reusing an existing motion data. We provide displacement, first and second order differential kinematics of quaternion based articulated rigid bodies. Quaternion allows us to interpolate properly three degree-of-freedom joint orientation rather than chunks of one degree-of-freedom joint angle. Based on the quaternion kinematics of two different bodies, we assign a kinematic constraint equations for a cost function which aims to mimic original motion as close as possible. The approach taken in this paper is different from previous researches in the sense we do not deal with any matrix inversion, which makes non-natural motion animation.

      • 회절점 그래프를 사용한 삼차원 소리합성

        Sound propagated in 3 dimensional space generates reflected waves whenever it hits boundary surfaces. If a receiver is away from a sound source, it receives multiple sound waves which are reflected from various boundary surfaces in space. The algorithm being developed in this paper is based on a ray sound theory. If we get 3 dimensional geometry input as well as sound sources, we can compute sound effects all over the boundary surfaces. In this paper, we present a new approach to compute sound by casting secondary sound sources forwards for diffraction, while tracing sounds backwards. Sound is propagated according to the frequency characteristics; high frequency sound is reflected similar to ray, while low frequency sound is propagated omni-directionally. We make a pair of ears for collecting sounds. Each ear casts sounds to determine effects from sound sources by tracing sounds backward. Sound due to impulse-response is governed by physical environments. When a sound source waveform and numerically computed impulse in time is convoluted, the result generates a synthetic sound. This technique can be easily generalized to synthesize realistic stereo sounds for virtual reality.

      • 인골 교육을 위한 3차원 Web Server와 Browser의 개발

        In this paper, we developed a World wide Web three dimensional information server for the purpose of human bone education. For the careful examination of bone information, we also developed a three dimensional browser which has authoring capabilities. That is to say, it can also cut objects to make new objects with cut information. Because human bone information consists of a huge amount of polygonal information as well as other information, we used Level of Detail(LOD) and Inline functions for the faster service. Also hierarchical information representation, provided in this project, makes it easy for users to inspect a group of related objects. For the Korean support, we developed a three dimensional Korean-Chinese-English character generator. This three dimensional server will be very useful for the medical education.

        감각통합기능장애에 대한 집중치료프로그램의 효과 : 사례보고

        목적: 본 연구는 감각통합기능장애를 가진 아동을 대상으로 주간에 걸친 집중치료프로그램을 제공하였을 때 미치는 효과를 알아보기 위한 것이며, 사후 평가를 통하여 감각통합기능의 유지 여부를 알아보았다. 연구방법: 단일사례연구로써 2주간 9회기 1회기에 40분씩 치료접근을 실시하고, 가정에서 Sensory diet와 더불어 Wilbarger Protocol을 실시하였다. 초기평가와 1차 재평가 사이의 시간은 15일이며, 5개월 후 2차 재평가를 실시하였다. 결과: 집중치료프로그램 적용 후, 아동은 전반적인 감각영역에서 감각방어가 감소되었고 자기조절 (수면, 각성)이 향상되었다. 또한 실행과 시-지각에서도 향상을 보였으며, 정서적 안정과 일상생활에서도 향상을 보였다. 프로그램 적용 5개월 후 감각조절능력, 안정적인 수면은 유지되고 시-지각에서도 지속적인 발달을 보였지만 정서적인 안정은 지속되지 않았다. 결론: 집중치료프로그램이 긍정적인 효과가 있음을 알 수 있었고, 집중치료프로그램 적용 후 치료적 접근이 없어도 대부분의 감각영역에서 감각조절능력을 유지할 수 있음을 알 수 있었다. Objective : The purpose of this study was to identify effects of intensive sensory integration (SI) treatment and home-program for a child who has a sensory integration disorder. This study also examined wheth­er the positive effect is long-lasting by a follow-up test. Method : A boy with sensory integration dysfunction underwent an intensive SI treatment for 2 weeks. The intervention was consisted of 9 sessions and duration of the each session was 40 minutes. Sensory diet and Wilbarger protocol was provided as home program. The child's sensory function was evaluated be­fore and after the SI intervention. Five month later, re-evaluation was executed for follow-up purpose. Results : In the evaluation after the Si intervention, the child's sensory defensiveness was decreased. Praxis, visual perception, sensory regulation dysfunction (sleep function), affective stabilization and performance of activities of daily living are also improved. In the re-evaluation after the 5 month later, the self-reg­ulation ability, especially sleep function, has been maintained and the visual perception was developing continually. However, the child showed some affective regulation such as bothering his mother and los­ing his temper. Conclusions : The intensive SI intervention showed positive effects in terms of SI function improvement and the effect lasted long without any additional therapeutic intervention.

      • Forward Dynamic 시뮬래이션을 이용한 컴퓨터 그래픽 애니매이션

        This paper present a new technique for doing realistic computer animation. The method is based on forward dynamic simulation and parameter optimization technique. Objects are modelled physically and simulated faithfully. This forward dynamic simulation gives us very realistic motions especially for non-voluntary motions. Then we extend simulation technique to do animation using parameter optimization. The basic idea is to add motion control over the entire animation. The motion control is finding optimal solutions while satisfying user's animation goals. To achieve motion control, we convert a single simulation to a single function evaluation while setting initial conditions as variables for the function. This methid is presented in detail with three animation/simulation examples.
