장애 대학생의 학업적 자기효능감, 진로장벽이 진로포부에 미치는 영향

The purpose of this study was to examine the relationships of academic self-efficacy, career barriers to career aspirations. It was examined for a group of 127 college students with disabilities in Daegu, Korea. Participants(M=67, w=60) completed measures of academic self-efficacy, career barriers and career aspirations. There were positive significant correlations between academic self-efficacy and career aspirations. There were negative significant correlations between career barriers and career aspirations. The multiple regression revealed that academic self-efficacy(β=.280, p<.001) and career barriers(β=.350, p<.001) were jointly predictive of career aspirations. The difference among academic self-efficacy, career barriers, career aspiration according to the distinction of sex of the students with disabilities has no signification statistically. Implications for the development of a career intervention and career counseling are discussed. 본 연구는 장애 대학생들의 학업적 자기효능감, 진로장벽이 진로 포부에 어떤 영향을 미치는 지를 알아보는 데 목적이 있다. 이를 위하여 다음과 같은 연구문제를 설정하였다. 첫째, 학업적 자기효능감은 진로 포부에 어떠 영향을 미치는가. 둘째, 진로장벽은 진로 포부에 어떤 영향을 미치는가. 셋째, 학업적 자기효능감, 긴로장벽, 진로 포부가 성별에 따라 어떤 차이가 있는가 등이다. 연구 대상은 대구 지역의 D대학에 재학 중인 장애 대학생 127명을 대상으로 하였고, 연구 도구로는 학업적 자기효능감, 진로장벽, 진로 포부 검사를 사용하였다. 각 변인들 간의 관계를 알아보기 위해 상관분석과 회귀분석을 실시하였고, 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 학업적 자기효능감은 진로 포부에 유의미한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 진로장벽도 진로 포부에 유의미한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 성별에 따른 차이에 있어서는 학업적 자기효능감과 진로장벽, 진로 포부에 있어서 전체적으로 남녀 간에 유의한 차이가 없는 것으로 나타났으나, 자기조절 효능감에 있어서는 여자가 남자보다 유의미하게 높게 나타났다.
ZBTB7A suppresses glioblastoma tumorigenesis through the transcriptional repression of EPB41L5

Glioblastoma multiforme (GBM), the most aggressive and malignant glioma, has a poor prognosis. Although patients with GBM are treated with surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation therapy, GBM is highly resistant to treatment, making it difficult and expensive to treat. In this study, we analyzed the Gene Expression Profiling Interactive Analysis dataset, the Cancer Genome Atlas dataset, and Gene Expression Omnibus array data. ZBTB7A (also called FBI1/POKEMON/LRF) was found to be highly expressed in low-grade glioma but significantly downregulated in patients with GBM. ZBTB7A is a transcription factor that plays an important role in many developmental stages, including cell proliferation. The activation of epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) is a key process in cancer progression and metastasis. Erythrocyte membrane protein band 4.1 like 5 (EPB41L5) is an essential protein for EMT progression and metastasis in various types of cancer. We found that ZBTB7A depletion in U87 cells induced GBM progression and metastasis. Based on RNA sequencing data, ZBTB7A directly binds to the promoter of the EPB41L5 gene, reducing its expression and inhibiting GBM progression. We demonstrated that ZBTB7A dramatically inhibits GBM tumor growth through transcriptional repression of EPB41L5. Thus, both ZBTB7A and EPB41L5 may be potential biomarkers and novel therapeutic targets for GBM treatment. Overall, we discovered the role of a novel tumor suppressor that directly inhibits GBM progression (ZBTB7A) and identified EPB41L5 as a therapeutic target protein for patients with GBM.

Good immunity is highly valued in modern society. Although yuja’s efficacy in immunity enhancement has been elucidated, there have been few studies on its role. In this study, we investigate the immune enhancement activity of yuja juice extracts (YJEs) and yuja concentrate extracts (YCEs). The immunoregulatory potencies of YJE and YCE were examined by determining cell viability and the expression of cytokines and immune-related molecules in RAW264.7 cells and mouse primary splenocytes. YJE and YCE induced the production of inducible nitric oxide synthase and cytokines (IL-10, IL-4, IL-6, and IFN-c) at 1000 lg/mL concentration in RAW 264.7 cells. In addition, in mice that were orally administered 3000 or 2000 mg/kg concentrations of YJE or YCE, immune-related cytokines in splenocytes were boosted to levels higher than those in control mice. Importantly, no liver toxicity was observed at all doses. Thus, our results suggest that compounds present in YJEs and YCEs represent novel natural immune-modulatory substances.

본 연구의 목적은 부모-교사 협력, 부모 역할 만족도, 부부관계 갈등이 영아의 어린이집 적응에 미치는 영향을 살펴봄으로써 영아의 어린이집 적응에 영향을 미치는 주요변인들을 알아보는 데 있다. 어린이집 14곳에 재원 중인 만 0~2세 영아의 어머니와 영아의 담당교사를 대상으로 분석하였다. 부모-교사 협력, 부모 역할 만족도, 부부관계 갈등에 관한 질문지는 영아의 어머니가 작성하였고, 영아의 어린이집 적응 능력의 측정은 영아의 담임교사에 의해 이루어졌다. 회수된 218부의 설문지 중 무응답이 많거나 같은 번호 응답을 중복 체크한 14부를 제외하고 총 204부의 설문지를 최종 분석에 사용하였다. 본 연구결과에 의하면 부모-교사 협력의 하위 변인 중에서 부모 교사 간의 상호관계 변인이 영아의 어린이집 적응 능력에 유의미한 정(+)의 영향(β=.25, p<.05)을 미치는 것으로 나타났고, 부모 역할 만족도 하위 변인 중에서 부모의 일반 만족도가 영아의 어린이집 적응 능력에 유의미한 정(+)의 영향(β=.34, p<.01)을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of parent-teacher cooperation, parental role satisfaction, and conflict of marital relationship on infant’s adjustment to daycare centers. For the purpose of this study, mothers of children registered at 14 daycare centers between the age of 0 and 2 and their teachers were selected for analysis. According to the results of hierarchical multiple regression analysis, general satisfaction in parental role satisfaction and mutual relationship in parent-teacher cooperation had a significant positive effect on infant’s adjustment to daycare centers, but conflict of marital relationship did not have any significant effect on infant’s adjustment. Based on these results of this study, mother’s general satisfaction in parental role and reciprocal relationship between parent and teachers would be the vital factor in order to improve infant’s adjustment to daycare centers.
Highly Stretchable, Transparent Ionic Touch Panel

The touch panel was developed decades ago and has become a popular input device in daily life. Because human-computer interaction is becoming more important, the next generation of touch panels require stretchability and bio-compatibility to allow integration with the human body. However, because most touch panels were developed based on stiff, brittle electrodes, electronic touch panels face difficulties to achieve such requirements. In this paper, for the first time, we demonstrate an ionic touch panel based on polyacrylamide hydrogel containing LiCl ions. The panel is soft and stretchable and thus, can sustain a large deformation. The panel can freely transmit light information through it because the hydrogel is transparent, with 99 % transmittance for visible light. A 1-dimensional touch strip was investigated to reveal the basic mechanism of sensing, and a 2-dimensional touch panel was developed to demonstrate its functionalities. The ionic touch panel was operated under high deformation with more than 1000% areal strain without sacrificing its functionalities. Furthermore, an epidermal touch panel on the skin was developed to demonstrate the mechanical and optical invisibility of the ionic touch panel through writing words, playing the piano and playing games.
Recovery and Dynamic Flow Analysis of Mercury from Waste Fluorescent Lamps in Korea

End-of-life fluorescent lamps containing with a toxic metal of mercury are collected from municipal waste streams. There are still huge amounts of the lamps in use from households, commercial areas, and industrial sectors, although demands for the lamps have been gradually decreasing with recent replacement with light emitting diode (LED) lamps. According to the "The Second Energy Fundamental Plan in Korea" published by the Korea Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy in 2014, existing public fluorescent lamps will be entirely replaced with 100% LED lighting after 2020. Thus, enormous amounts of end-of-life fluorescent lamps will end up with disposal. It is important to properly manage and recycle the lamps due to the presence of mercury. In this study, dynamic flow analysis was conducted to estimate the flow of materials that are recycled or discarded through the use phase over time by considering the life span of the lamp product. Mass flow of mercury in the lamps was also examined by quantifying flow and stocks of the substance in a well-defined system based on mass balance approach. Dynamic flow analysis is used to quantify past material flows, establish the material flow patterns and apply the lifetime of the lamps, and the replacement rate in order to track the temporal changes in the material flows. Based on the results, the amount of end-of-life fluorescent lamps generated was estimated to be about 100 million in 2008, and is expected to gradually increase to 140 million in 2014 and then decrease to about 100 million in 2019. Mercury from the lamps has steadily declined from 2.19 ton-Hg in 2008. In 2030, the expected emission of fluorescent lamps was estimated at about 10 million, and mercury was estimated at only 22 kg- Hg. The flow of mercury in fluorescent lamps was expected to continually decrease by 2030 due to the increased LED replacement. It implies that the amount of mercury emissions to the environment is expected to sharply decline in the future.
