Treatment Options for Patients With Mild-to-Moderate Coronavirus Disease 2019 in Korea

The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) continues to threaten public health in Korea although several surges have passed in the past 3 years since 2019. Although patients with mild-to-moderate COVID-19 can usually recover at home, antiviral therapy to prevent disease progression and hospitalization is beneficial for those at high risk of progressing to severe COVID-19. The purpose of this article was to review how antivirals have been rolled out for the treatment of COVID-19 and how domestic and international guidelines for their use have evolved. Several evidence-based treatment guidelines have been developed in Korea, including those derived from domestic studies. Although many different antiviral agents were nominated as promising therapeutics at the onset of the pandemic, most failed to show efficacy in clinical trials. Currently, three types of antiviral agents—nirmatrelvir-ritonavir, molnupiravir, and remdesivir—are available in Korea to treat severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) infection. Each antiviral has its advantages and disadvantages. For most individuals, nirmatrelvir/ritonavir is preferred because of its high efficacy and convenience of administration. When serious drug interactions occur or are expected with nirmatrelvir/ritonavir administration, 3 days of remdesivir treatment is shown to be a reasonable alternative. Molnupiravir may be prescribed with caution only if no other therapeutic options are available or acceptable.

최근 인터넷과 같은 정보 공간의 확산으로 영상의 유통 및 소비 시스템이 급격히 변화하면서 영상의 양적성장이 가속화되고 접근 또한 용이해졌다. 이에 따라 유해 비디오의 분류 및 차단 기술이 중요한 문제가 되었다. 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위해 여러 연구자들이 유해 비디오 분류 및 차단 기술에 대하여 연구하고 있다. 기존의 연구에서는 유해 이미지 검출에서 사용되던 비주얼 (visual) 정보에 추가적으로 비디오에서 얻어지는 모션 정보와 오디오 정보들을 이용하고 있다. 기존 연구에서는 유해 비디오에서 유해 액션들을 구분하지 않고 유해 비디오 여부만 판단하는데 연구의 초점을 두었다. 본 논문에서는 유해 비디오에서 많이 관측되는 유해 동작들을 정의하고, 유해 동작들을 검출하는데 이용되는 모션 정보들을 분석해 보고자 한다.

<P>In this paper, we present a novel high dynamic range (HDR) imaging method using a single image. The existing multiple image-based HDR methods work only on condition that there is no camera and object movement when acquiring multiple, differently exposed low dynamic range (LDR) images. To overcome such an unrealistic restriction, we make three LDR images from a single input image using local histogram stretching. An edge-preserving spatially adaptive denoising method is also proposed to suppress the noise that is amplified in the histogram stretching process. Because the proposed method self-generates three histogram-stretched LDR images from a single input image, ghost artifacts that are the result of the relative motion between the camera and objects during exposure time, are inherently removed. Therefore, the proposed method can be applied to mobile imaging devices such as a mobile phone camera and a consumer compact camera to provide the ghost artifacts free HDR function in the form of either embedded or post-processing software.</P>

<P>A series of polyketone (PK) nanocomposite films with varying content of noncovalently functionalized graphene nanoplatelet with 1-aminopyrene (GNP/APy) is prepared by solution blending with a solvent of hexafluoro-2-propanol. GNP/APy, prepared by a facile method, can effectively induce specific interaction such as hydrogen bonding between the amine functional group of GNP/APy and the carbonyl functional group of the PK matrix. With comparison of GNP and GNP/Py as reference materials, intensive investigation on filler matrix interaction is achieved. In addition, the dispersion state of the functionalized GNP (f-GNPs; GNP/Py and GNP/APy) in the PK matrix is analyzed by three-dimensional nondestructive X-ray microcomputed tomography, and the increased dispersion state of those fillers results in significant improvement in the water vapor y transmission rate (WVTR). The enhancement in WVTR of the PK/GNP/APy nanocomposite film at 1 wt % loading of filler leads to a barrier performance approximately 2 times larger compared to that of PK/GNP nanocomposite film and an approximately 92% reduction in WVTR compared to the case of pristine PK film. We expect that this facile method of graphene functionalization to enhance graphene dispersibility as well as interfacial interaction with the polymer matrix will be widely utilized to expand the potential of graphene materials to barrier film applications.</P>
