Fuelling machines are used to exchange fuels almost everyday in CANDU plants. The ways to monitor and diagnose them have been requested due to its operational importance. In this paper, a new method to diagnose fuelling machine is introduced especially for the bridge assembly. Since the bridge assembly is in the reactor room, no access is allowed while operating. Therefore, diagnostic signals must be obtained remotely. The currents and the voltages of the electric motors were measured and they were further processed to extract the diagnostic signatures. Motor torque was estimated and examined as a diagnostic signature. It provides the information regarding loads on and movements of the bridge assembly which are the two important variables to evaluate the condition. Finally the developed methods are validated through the experiments performed in the laboratory.

In this paper, diagnostic algorithms are developed to be utilized to monitor the condition of and to diagnose defects in the magazine of a fuelling machine installed in CANDU plants. The magazine plays a role in storing fuels, plugs and tools. Since the magazine operates in the high radiation area, it is impossible to give direct access to it for measuring the signals. Therefore, inlet and outlet pressures of a hydraulic motor, which can be acquired remotely, were selected as the measuring variables. The measured signals are further processed to extract the diagnostic signatures. They were examined and validated in the various experiments with the magazine mock-up

In this research project, development of methodology to measure the thickness of pipes in the wide range using magnetic field. The magnetic field spreading in the sensor and the plate was modeled in the cases of the various thicknesses in plate. Based on the analysis, sensors were designed, manufactured and tested to optimize the specifications of the sensor. The sensor can be used in high temperature through calibration. And the uncertainty of the sensor was estimated.

This study aims to show the guideline to select optimal anti-vibration gloves for specific power tools to prevent hazardous vibration to human body. It is most desirable for the correct evaluation of handtransmitted vibration form the power tool handle to measure the acceleration between the handle surface and the hand palm as recommended in ISO 5349-1. First, the accurate acceleration measurement device was developed of which the thickness and weight were less than 6 mm and 12 g respectively so that it can be placed between the handle and the palm without any inconvenience during the measurement. Finally, using the device we estimated anti-vibration glove performances considering the frequency characteristics of generated vibration by the power tool.
칼만 필터를 이용한 온라인 센서 교정 모니터링에 대한 연구

본 논문의 연구 목적은 원자력 발전소에서 사용되는 계측 센서들을 온라인으로 드리프트를 감지하여 교정이 필요한 센서를 선택함으로써 불필요한 교정을 방지하는 것이다. 다중 센서의 드리프트 감지 기술로는 기존에 연구되었던 PCA, ICA, ICMP를 사용하였다. 새로운 드리프트 감지 기술로는 칼만필터를 사용하여 기존 방법과 비교를 하였다. 본 연구에서는 모사된 드리프트 신호를 바탕으로 만든 시뮬레이션 데이터를 드리프트 감지 기술에 적용하였다. 성능 평가는 accuracy와 auto-sensitivity를 사용하여 각각의 방법에 대한 평가를 진행하였다. 본 연구에서 검증한 드리프트 감지에 사용된 기술인 칼만필터를 사용한다면, 더 높은 정확성 및 강건한 추정값을 제공할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다. The purpose of this study was to develop an online sensor calibration monitoring (OSCM) technique for detecting the drift of sensors and, furthermore, for preventing unnecessary maintenance, such as calibration in nuclear power plants. The Kalman filter was employed for the detection of the drift of multiple sensors. In addition, conventional methods, i.e., principal component analysis, independent component analysis, and the instrument calibration and monitoring program, were used for comparison. Simulation data with artificial drift was utilized to evaluate the OSCM techniques developed, and performance was evaluated in terms of accuracy, sensitivity, and drift threshold detection. In the results, it was observed that the Kalman filter enhances detection accuracy and reduces sensitivity. Moreover, the Kalman filter makes it possible to detect the drift threshold in an acceptable time period. According to the results, the Kalman filter is suitable for the OSCM technique with enhanced accuracy and precision.
