In order to evaluate the status of cold exposure and its health hazards of workers at cold storage workplaces and to provide basic data for effective health care, the author measured core temperature and also observed clinical symptoms and signs, past and present history, and general health examination data on 99 cold exposed workers for exposure group and 96 non-exposed workers for control group working at 2 food refrigerating companies in Pusan area from January 6, 1998 to February 24, 1998. The results were as follows: 1. There was statistically significant difference in water intake between the exposure and control group and increased urine volume, urine frequency in exposure group without statistically significant difference. 2. Past and present illness in exposure group were hypertension (18.2%), hepatopathy (8.1%), gastro-intestinal disease(7.1%), arthritis (4.0%), intervertebral disc herniation(4.0%), and so on, and hypertension, arthritis was statistically significant difference compared to control group. 3. Symptoms in exposure group were fatigue(89.9%), headache (64.6%). drowsy(63.6%), neck stiffness(59.6%), excessive food intake(59.6%). general weakness(58.6%), hunger(58.6%), numbness(54.5%), and so on, and there was statistically significant difference between the exposure and control group except fatigue, drowsy. 4. As results of clinical test abnormality rate of the systolic, diastolic blood pressure and electrocardiogram were significantly higher in exposed group than control. 5. Core temperature in exposure group was statistically significantly lower than control group and the highest statistically significant inverse correlation with the working hours and working frequency of daily mean cold storage. As above results, the author suggested that the further studies should be conducted to evaluate the health status of workers about chronic health effects in cold workplaces and to establish effective health care methods for them.

<P>Few-layer graphene films with a controllable thickness were grown on a nickel surface by rapid thermal annealing (RTA) under vacuum. The instability of nickel films in air facilitates the spontaneous formation of ultrathin (<2-3 nm) carbon- and oxygen-containing compounds on a nickel surface; thus, the high-temperature annealing of the nickel samples without the introduction of intentional carbon-containing precursors results in the formation of graphene films. From annealing temperature and ambient studies during RTA, it was found that the evaporation of oxygen atoms from the surface is the dominant factor affecting the formation of graphene films. The thickness of the graphene layers is strongly dependent on the RTA temperature and time, and the resulting films have a limited thickness (<2 nm), even for an extended RTA time. The transferred films have a low sheet resistance of +/- 0.4 k Omega/sq, with similar to 94% +/- 2% optical transparency, making them useful for applications as flexible transparent conductors.</P>

<P>Today, state-of-the-art III-Ns technology has been focused on the growth of c-plane nitrides by metal–organic chemical vapor deposition (MOCVD) using a conventional two-step growth process. Here we show that the use of graphene as a coating layer allows the one-step growth of heteroepitaxial GaN films on sapphire in a MOCVD reactor, simplifying the GaN growth process. It is found that the graphene coating improves the wetting between GaN and sapphire, and, with as little as ∼0.6 nm of graphene coating, the overgrown GaN layer on sapphire becomes continuous and flat. With increasing thickness of the graphene coating, the structural and optical properties of one-step grown GaN films gradually transition towards those of GaN films grown by a conventional two-step growth method. The InGaN/GaN multiple quantum well structure grown on a GaN/graphene/sapphire heterosystem shows a high internal quantum efficiency, allowing the use of one-step grown GaN films as ‘pseudo-substrates’ in optoelectronic devices. The introduction of graphene as a coating layer provides an atomic playground for metal adatoms and simplifies the III-Ns growth process, making it potentially very useful as a means to grow other heteroepitaxial films on arbitrary substrates with lattice and thermal mismatch. </P>

The KSTAR Magnet Power Supply (MPS) was dedicated to the SC coil commissioning and 1st plasma experiment as a part of the system commissioning. Although many efforts to develop large-current power supplies that are useful for high power electronic devices have been made in various application fields, such as for large metal-plating devices, there were clear discrepancies between conventional power supply technologies and that for the SC coils due to the special SC coil load conditions. Therefore, most of the power supply technologies for the SC coils were a challenge in the domestic research area due to their limited application. However, the MPS commissioning result showed that all of the hardware and controlling software operated well, and this result finally led to the success of SC coil commissioning and the KSTAR 1st plasma experiment. This paper will describe key features of KSTAR MPS for the 1st plasma experiment, and will also report the commissioning results of the magnet power supplies.

This experimentation is carried out through the control system of Six degrees of freedom fine motion mechanism as follow; (1). In the case that optional input function is put to the Six-degrees of freedom fine motion mechanism, it is confirmed that this all draws a circular motion in the range of l00Hz frequencies. (2). In the case of incidense of sine wave (1 KHz) near to resonance frequencies at the direction of X, Z to the Six-degrees of freedom fine motion mechanism the vibration of input caused small interference to generate.

Structural deformation information can be used as important data for the safety and usability evaluation of the structure. However, it is necessary to install various LVDTs in order to measure the displacement of an actual structure, and the accuracy is limited according to the external environment. This study is implemented an algorithm using an image-based measurement system and developed a necessary program for displacement measurement. In order to verify the accuracy of the real–time displacement measurement using image-based system, It needs to compared and analyzed the real - time displacement measurement using image processing technique and LVDT. The error rate was about 0.23%. Based on this result, it can be expected that the damage will be prevented by predicting the collapse through the measurement of the displacement of the structure.

<P><B>Abstract</B></P><P>A recent study in young Italian subjects suggested that the healthy thresholds for serum alanine aminotransferase (ALT) levels should be adjusted to 30 IU/L for men and 19 IU/L for women when assessing risk factors for nonalcoholic fatty liver disease. Our aim was to assess serum ALT concentrations in healthy Korean individuals and to determine the factors affecting ALT levels in these populations. We included 1,105 potential liver donors (643 men and 462 women) with biopsy‐proven normal livers. Median ages were 25 years in men and 30 years in women, with a median body mass index (BMI) of 22.3 kg/m2 in men and 21.4 kg/m2 in women. The calculated thresholds for ALT values in these subjects were 35 IU/L for men and 26 IU/L for women. Age and BMI were independently correlated with ALT levels in both sexes, whereas serum total cholesterol concentration was significant only in men and blood glucose level only in women (<I>P</I> < 0.05). When we chose a subgroup of 665 individuals (346 men and 319 women) using Prati criteria, modified by the BMI cutoff points for Asians (<23 kg/m2), we found that the healthy ALT values were 33 IU/L for men and 25 IU/L for women. The mean ALT concentrations for subjects within the Prati criteria were significantly lower than for those outside the criteria (16.7 versus 19.5 IU/L for men, 12.8 versus 14.9 IU/L for women; <I>P</I> < 0.001). <I>Conclusion:</I> The healthy ALT thresholds in biopsy‐proven normal Asians were clearly lower than the previously accepted thresholds, as has also been noted in Europeans. Age, BMI, and/or other metabolic parameters significantly affect ALT levels, even in subjects with normal livers. (H<SMALL>EPATOLOGY</SMALL> 2010.)</P>
