1996년 6월 카톨릭대학교 부천성가병원에 뇌경색으로 입원했던 61세 남자 환자의 혈액에서 Flavobacterium meningosepticum을 분리하였다. 환자는 폐렴을 동반한 패혈증의 예로 ceftriaxone과 metronidazole을 투여하였으나 입원 48시간만에 사망하였다. Flabovacterium meningosepticum is a rae cause of nosocomial infection which shows multi-drug resistance. It mainly invades patients with impaired immunity. Recently, we experienced a case of F. meningosepticum bacteremia in a patient with chronic debilitated state owing to stroke. The clinical progress was so rapid that he died within 48 hours. Blood culture revealed F. meningosepticum which showed characteristic yellow colony in blood agar plate.

The capital evaluation theory through the theoretical approach of Neo-classicists has been developed arond MM theory, CAPM, APT and OPM. CAPM estimates the assets by examining the condition of balance in the capital market and market portfolio. CAPM however can not solve the problem of normal distribution of various changes in the assets income and that of the secomd effect function in the preferance of economic subject. Therefore, it has been essentical to justify CAPM theoredtically and practically. APT has been deviced to overcome these difficulties. This study will examine two types of theortical development of ROSS's basic model. The purpose of this study is to clarify the theortical structure of APT, especially through the viewpoint of decision and balance.

The measurement of gross beta activity and the concentration of ^90Sr in the vegetables such as Brassica Campestris, Raphanus Sativus and Lactuca Sativa grown in Daejeon area was carried out during the period of April through August 1983. The observed levels of gross beta activity and the concentration of ^90Sr in the leaves of the vegetables were, on average, 189.2±51.8pCi/g-ash(2372±827pCi/㎏-fresh) and 44.4±11.5 ^90Sr pCi/g-Ca(2.5±0.5 ^90Sr pCi/g-ash or 31.6±8.6 ^90Sr pCi/㎏-fresh), respectively, while the mean level of the gross beta activity in roots was 158.6±19.4pCi/g-ash(2121±899pCi/㎏-fresh). On the basis of the ICRP recommendations, an estimative evaluation was made for the concentration of ^90Sr in the vegetables, and it was turned out to be far below the permissible level. An attempt was also made to look for any existing difference in the gross beta activities of the vegetables grown in vinyl house and in open field, taking seasonal variation of airborne radioactivity into account for normalizing the activity deposited during the course of discrepant farming period.

혈액질환 환자에서 조혈모세포 이식과 화학요법 후의 침습성 진균감염의 분석

목적 : 조혈모세포 이식이나 화학요법을 받은 혈액질환 환자에서 침습성 진균감염의 양상을 분석하고 예후 인자를 정하기 위하여 이 연구를 실시하였다. 방법 : 2000년 3월부터 2001년 2월까지 가톨릭 조혈모세포이식센터에 입원한 318명의 환자들 중 진균 감염으로 의심되어 항진균제를 투여받은 122명의 환자를 대상으로 후향적 분석을 실시하였다. 결과 : 74명의 환자가 EORTC/MSG 기준에 의해 침습성 진균증으로 판정되었다. 이들 중 6명이 확진이었고, 46명이 추정, 22명이 가능 증례이었다. 가장 많이 침습된 장기는 하부 호흡기이었다(72/74). 사망률은 32.4%이었다. 단변량 분석으로 예후 인자를 도출한 결과 입원 기간, 진단까지 걸린 시일, 그리고 amphotericin B의 총 투여량이 유의한 인자로 나왔다. 그러나 다변량 분석을 시행한 결과 입원 기간만이 독립적으로 유의하게 영향을 미치는 예후 인자로 산출되었다. 결론 : 침습성 진균 감염은 현재도 조혈모세포 이식이나 화학요법 후의 중요한 합병증으로 작용하고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 진균 감염 합병증의 예후에 영향을 미치는 요소로 입원 기간이외에 진단의 신속성과 항진균제의 투여도 유의한지에 대해서는 후속 연구를 통해 재치 규명해야 할 것으로 생각된다. Background : Invasive fungal infections (IFI) are one type of representing total infections in compromised patients. To analyze the characteristics and to determine the prognostic factors of IFI in patients with hematologic diseases undergoing hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) and/or chemotherapy. Methods : We retrospectively reviewed consecutive patients (n=122) who received antifungal treatment with the impression of fungal infection complicating post-HSCT or chemotherapy from March-2000 to February-2001. Results : Seventy-four out of 122 registered patients belonged to the IFI on the basis of EORTC/MSG criteria. Six patients were proven IFI, 46 were probable, and 22 were in the category of possible one. The most commonly involved organ was lower respiratory tract (72/74). The mortality was 32.4%. Univariate analysis revealed duration of hospitalization, days to diagnosis of IFI, and total amount of amphotericin B as significant prognostic factors. But multivariate analysis determined only duration of hospitalization from these variables as an independently influencing factor on the prognosis. Conclusion : Invasive fungal infection is still the major threatening complication of HSCT and chemotherapy. Further follow-up and extension of this study is necessary to elucidate more prognostic factors.

역삼투압을 이용한 전착도료 정제공장폐수처리에 관한 연구

To treat effectively EDIR (electrodeposition ion removal) wastewater in terms of COD 1,500∼2,000ppm generating from aluminum painting process, A RO(Reverse Osmosis) process was designed and installed to recover and reuse of solvent sent back to the electrocodeposition tank while the permeate reused as rinse water. A RO system in which 3 polyamide-spiral wound modules(102￠×1,016L) connected in series has been running to treat 20㎥ in waste volume in 3 days batch operation at the condition of system recovery 30%, applied pressure 11.5 kg/㎠ and room temperature. At 80% water recovery, rejections were suitable to allow reuse of permeate with stable flux 390 l/㎡-hr and average COD 300ppm for washing remained paint solution in ion-exchange tower instead of demineral water. COD rejection as a function of running time was showed in the range of 78∼87% at the condition of 42 hours-cycle batch operation and 5-fold decrease in waste volume and the observed solvent rejections for ethyl cellusolves, buthyl cellusolve and n-butanol were 79%, 87% and 70% respectively.

A playwright may communicate his meaning through dialogue only. He may also rely on nonverbal images, the emphasis being on spectacular effects rather than on the spoken text. He uses dialogue to present his themes but at the same time reinforce(or on occasion contradict) the ostensible meaning of verbal statement in the play by utilizing spectacular means of expression, that is, setting, properties, costumes, lighting effects, groupings, the actor's individual expression, his gesture, movements, make-up, vocal or facial expressions. Aural effects such as sound and music may be also considered as nonverbal means of expression. These elements are essential to the realization of a dramatic event in the theatre. Robert Mayo, the protagonist in Beyond the Horizon, is forced to face the meaninglessness of his dreams. When his efforts prove to be futile, death becomes the only possible way out for him. The course from hope and dream through the agony of disillusionment to death is illustrated by the plot and action of the play, but it is also implied by verbal and nonverbal images. The analysis of Beyond the Horizon proves that O'Neill focuses on the imagery of imprisonment, decay, and death, and the emphasis is on the loss rather than the longing. Interior scenes represent disillusionment, confinement, and eventually death. The exterior scenes, on the other hand, may symbolize the longing, but they are so permeated with the same imagery one finds in the indoor scenes that inevitability of loss is implied, too. In creating images, O'Neill uses both verbal and nonverbal devices; therefore, it is not possible to speak about purely verbal or exclusively nonverbal imagery in Beyond the Horizon. There exists a close relationship between the verbal and nonverbal images in the play-they are supportive and beneficial to one another. O'Neill begins with nonverbal images and then supports them by verbal references. O'Neill seems to be visually oriented technique, we may conclude, is direct, heavily charged, and expressive of more complex nuances. In fact, the verbal element in O'Neill's plays tends to provide the color for the nonverbal actions. The verbal elements thus serves to suggest to the audience the manner in which the nonverbal nuances should be viewed.

Turbulent jet flow has been studied in many ways : a plane jet, a wall jet, a rectangular jet, an annular jet, a round jet, a parallel jet, a valve jet, a cross jet, a slit jet, and etc. In this report, comparisons of two cross jet flows were tried with two same nozzles (dia. ø20). Two nozzles were set up respectively to effectuate 45。 and 90。jet flows. Each jet of two cross jets flows to the direction of 22.5。 to the axis of downstream of the mixed turbulent flow in case of the cross angle 45。, and to the direction of 45。 in case of 90。. The case of centerlines of two jets respectively meet at the distance of 217.3mm and 90mm in the axial direction, but the mixing flows of two jets could be imagined to exist beyond those distances. For the experimental investigations were effectuated at X= 230mm, X= 100mm. 2 channel hot-wire anemometer systems (model Tsi 1050), I-type and X-type tungsten hot-wires (dia. 5μm, long 3mm) (model 0252 T5) were used for the measurement of the mean velocities and the turbulent components, and the pressures were measured by an electric micro manometer with the precision of 1 μm of water column. The probe was moved by an automatic probe traversing system (model SD-100c) with the precision of 1/l00mm. The experimental results of this study could be summarized as follows ; The mean velocity distributions showed that single free jet beyond the mixing region. The non-dimensional distribution profiles agree well with the semi-empirical eguation of Gortler and H. Schlichting in the region of U/U≥0.0.4. Fluctuation velocities of the 90。 cross jet appear much higher than those of 45。. But the intensities of turbulence distributions were not greatly different. Their distribution widthes of 90。 and 45。 were guite different each other. The momentums were gradually decreased according to the increasement of "X". Reynolds shear stresses (u'v') show distribution profiles of uniform aspect in case of 45。. In case of 90。 those show enough difference in negative values to X-direction. And the Values (u'w') increase according to an increase of Reynolds Number in case of 45。, but decrease in case of cross angle 90。. And those show all positive values.

신장장해 가토에서 Vancomycin의 약물동태

The Pharmacokinetics of vancomycin(10㎎/㎏ i.v) was investigated in rabbits with folate(75㎎/㎏, 150㎎/㎏, 300㎎/㎏ i.v)induced renal disorder. The plasma concentration of vancomycin was increased significantly compared with those of normal rabbits. βand k_21, k_10, V_d were decreased, t1/2 and AUC were increased significantly. Correlation of serum creatinine concentration and elimination rate constant, dosage regimen have linear relationship respectively. Dosage regimen of vancomycin is considered to be adjusted in the dose size and the dose interval by degree of serum creatinine concentration or elimination rate constant.
