Objective : The purpose of this study is to investigate the inflammatory-control effects of Cheonghyeol-antidote complex(Lonicera japonica Thunberg, Forsythia viridissima Lindley, and Taraxacum platycarpum H. Dahlstedt complex, CHA) in LPS-induced RAW264.7 cell and mouse inflammation models. Method : For in vitro and in vivo experiment, Indicators such as cell viability, mRNA expression level(iNOS, IL-6, IL-1β, COX-2, TNF-a), Inflammatory factor production(NO, IL-6, IL-1β, TNF-a), and protein phosphorylation level(ERK, JNK, p38) were analyzed. For in vivo experiment, Indicators such as mRNA expression level(iNOS, IL-6, IL-1β, COX-2, TNF-a), Inflammatory factor production(IL-6, IL-1β, TNF-a), protein phosphorylation level(ERK, JNK, p38) and immune cell(white blood cell, lymphocyte) were analyzed. Results : 1. In vitro experiment In cell viability of CHA, CHA showed cell viability below 90% at concentrations of 400 μg / ml or more. In mRNA expression level, IL-6 and IL-1β showed a significant decrease at all concentrations except 25 μg / ml concentration, and iNOS, COX-2, and TNF-a showed a significant decrease at all concentrations of CHA compared to the control group. In inflammatory factor production, NO and TNF-a showed a significant decrease at all concentrations except 25 μg / ml concentration of CHA, and IL-1β showed a significant decrease at 100, 200 μg / ml concentration of CHA compared to the control group. IL-6 showed a significant decrease at all concentration of CHA compared to the control group. In protein phosphorylation level, ERK and p38 showed a significant decrease at all concentrations except 25 μg / ml concentration of CHA and JNK showed a significant decrease at all concentrations of CHA compared to control group. 2. In vivo experiment In mRNA expression level, iNOS, COX-2 and TNF-a showed a significant decrease in all administration groups of CHA compared to the control group. In Inflammatory factor production, IL-6, IL-1β and TNF-a showed a significant decrease in all the administration groups of CHA. In protein phosphorylation level, ERK, JNK, and p38 showed a significant decrease in all the administration groups of CHA. In the immune cells, leukocytes and lymphocytes showed a significant decrease in all the administration groups of CHA. Conclusions : This study shows that CHA has antioxidant and inflammatory-control effects on LPS-induced RAW264.7 cells. It is hoped that further research will be conducted on the individual mechanisms of Lonicera japonica Thunberg, Forsythia viridissima Lindley, and Taraxacum platycarpum H. Dahlstedt.

Antineoplastic activity against human gastric and colon carcinoma cell lines was measured in 49 extracts from 46 plants using the MTT(3-[4, 5-dimethyl thiazol-2-yl]-2, 5-diphenyl tetrazolium bromide) method. Six extracts from five plants have been reported to have antineoplastic effects. Extracts from remaining the 41 plants failed to show significant cytotoxic effect at the concentration of less than 230 ㎍/㎖.

한 사람에서 다발성으로 악성종양이 발생하는 다발 원발암은 1889년 Billroth에 의해 처음 발표되었다. 최근 들어 악성종양에 대한 점진적인 진단 및 치료기술의 발달로 다발 원발암의 발생률은 증가되는 추세이다. 국내에서도 3중복암에 대한 몇몇 증례 보고가 있었으나 4중복암에 대한 발표는 드물다. 최근 저자들은 69세 남자에게서 발생한 이시성 4중 복암-폐, 식도, 성문, 하인두-을 경험하였기에 문헌고찰과 함께 보고하는 바이다. Multiple primary neoplasms, defined as the occurrence of multiple malignant neoplasms in the same individual, were first reported by Billroth in 1889. With gradual improvements in diagnostics, and the early detection and effective treatment of malignant neoplasms, the prevalence of multiple primary neoplasms seems to be increasing. Although there have been several reports of triple primary neoplasms in Korea, cases of quadruple neoplasms are rare. Recently, we diagnosed a 69-year-old male with primary neoplasms in the Lung, esophagus, vocal cords, and hypopharynx. The authors report this rare case of four metachronous primary neoplasms and provide a review of the Literature. (Korean J Med 2012;82:110-114)

The number of wild animal species is gradually decreasing due to poaching, hunting and habitat loss. While several endangered animal species have been successfully preserved at the zoo, assisted reproductive technology (ART) must be applied to restore wild animals. In the case of critically endangered animals, somatic cell cloning is considered the most appropriate method of ART. Somatic cell cloning can be beneficial for the reproduction of endangered species with limited female populations. However, gene and cell banks, and understanding of reproductive physiology and optimization of ART for wild animals are urgently required for further activation of artificial reproduction of endangered species, which enlarges its application and maintains biodiversity. Care should also be taken to consider ethical and legal issues associated with somatic cell cloning for conservation of endangered animals.
웨이블릿 부대역의 에너지와 DC 값에 근거한 적응적 블록 복구

본 논문은 잡음이 존재하는 전송 선로를 통한 영상 전송 시 발생하는 손실 블록에 대한 방향성 복구 방법을 제안한다. 손실된 블록은 웨이블릿 부대역의 에너지(EWS)와 DC값의 차이(DDC)에 의해 적응적으로 선택되어진 이웃 블록들을 이용한 선형 보간법에 의해 복구된다. 고정된 4-이웃 블록을 사용하여 복구하는 방법은 강한 에지영역에서 블록화된 블러링 효과를 발생시킨다. 본 논문의 방향성 복구 방법은 에지나 영상 내의 방향성 정보에 따라 적응적으로 변하는 이웃 블록을 사용하기 때문에 강한 에지영역에서 효과적이다. EWS만 이용하여 이웃블록을 선택하는 경우는 수직, 수평 에지에서는 좋은 성능을 보이지만 대각 에지에 대해서는 약점을 가지고 있다. DDC만을 이용하여 이웃블록을 선택하는 경우는 대각 에지에서는 좋은 성능을 보이지만 에지 프로파일에 따라 약점을 보인다. 따라서 EWS와 DDC 정보를 함께 이용하여 적응적으로 손실 블록을 복구할 이웃블록을 선택함으로써 두 가지방법의 약점을 서로 보완하여 더 좋은 성능을 보일 수 있다. 모의실험 결과 본 논문의 블록 복구 방법은 객관적 평가와 주관적 평가에서 모두 좋은 성능을 보였다. When images compressed with block-based compression techniques are transmitted over a noisy channel, unexpected block losses occur. In this paper, we present a post-processing-based block recovery scheme using Haar wavelet features. No consideration of the edge-direction, when recover the lost blocks, can cause block-blurring effects. The proposed directional recovery method in this paper is effective for the strong edge because exploit the varying neighboring blocks adaptively according to the edges and the directional information in the image. First, the adaptive selection of neighbor blocks is performed based on the energy of wavelet subbands (EWS) and difference of DC values (DDC). The lost blocks are recovered by the linear interpolation in the spatial domain using selected blocks. The method using only EWS performs well for horizontal and vertical edges, but not as well for diagonal edges. Conversely, only using DDC performs well diagonal edges with the exception of line- or roof-type edge profiles. Therefore, we combined EWS and DDC for better results. The proposed methods out performed the previous methods using fixed blocks.
