        Photoluminescence of Natural Diamonds

        The optical properties of type-Ia and type-IIa natural diamonds were studied using IR absorption spectroscopy and photoluminescence spectroscopy. Type-Ia and type-IIa diamonds have very different IR spectra, but IR spectra of all type-IIa diamonds are similar. However, significant differences were found in the photoluminescence spectra of type-IIa diamonds, which demonstrates that photoluminescence spectroscopy can be used as an accurate grading method of diamonds.

        A Comparative Evaluation of Radiation-Induced DNA Damage using Real-Time PCR: Influence of Base Composition

Res. 165, 430??437 (2006).To study the radiosensitivity of DNA segments at the open reading frame (gene) level, real-time PCR was used to analyze DNA damages induced by ionizing radiation. After irradiation (1, 3 and 5 kGy) of genomic DNA purified from Salmonella typhimurium, real-time PCR based on SYBR Green fluorescence and melting temperature was performed using various primer sets targeting the rfbJ, rfaJ, rfaB, hilD, ssrB, pipB, sopD, pduQ, eutG, oadB, ccmB and ccmA genes. The ccmA and ccmB genes, which existed as two copies on the chromosome and had a high GC content (??0%), showed much lower radiosensitivities than the other genes tested, particularly at 5 kGy; this distinctive feature was seen only when the genes were located on the chromosome, regardless of copy number. Our results reinforce the concept that gene sensitivity to ionizing radiation depends on the base composition and/or the spatial localization of the gene on the chromosome.

        Depolarization of Luminescence from Dye Molecules in Solutions or Embedded in Zeolite Pores

        Depolarization of luminescence from pyronine B dye molecules was studied using polarized photoluminescence spectroscopy. When the molecules were dissolved in a solvent, the viscosity and the electronic dipole moment of the solvent affected the depolarization ratio and the photoluminescence peak position, respectively. In addition, the concentration of the dye molecules also influenced the depolarization ratio and the photoluminescence. For pyronine B molecules embedded in zeolite-L crystals, the photoluminescence peak position was independent of the concentration, and the depolarization ratio showed a dependence on the concentration that was opposite to the case of dye molecules in a solvent. The energy transfer between the molecules or the re-absorption process is suggested to explain the experimental results.

        Discrimination between natural and HPHT-treated type IIa diamonds using photoluminescence spectroscopy

        <P><B>Abstract</B></P><P>We have performed low-temperature (8K) photoluminescence (PL) measurements on 71 natural and 12 high-pressure-and-high-temperature (HPHT)-treated type IIa diamonds. The GR1, NV<SUP>0</SUP>, NV<SUP>−</SUP>, H4, and H3 defect center PL signals are compared. Some distinct differences in the PL lineshape, intensity, and appearance of side-band PL signals are observed. Furthermore, we processed 6 of the natural diamond samples with the HPHT treatment to investigate the effect of the treatment on the PL spectrum. By systematically analyzing the differences in the PL spectra, we developed a scheme to discriminate natural and HPHT-treated diamonds with 99% validity.</P>

        대학생의 창의·인성에 영향을 미치는 자율적 교육풍토, 메타인지, 숙달접근목표, 의사소통능력 간의 구조관계 규명

        본 연구는 대학생들의 창의ㆍ인성에 영향을 미치는 변인들 간의 구조적 관계를 분석하여 창의ㆍ인성을 효과적으로 함양시킬 수 있는 교수프로그램 개발 및 운영전략에 대한 시사점을 얻고자 하였다. 본 연구에서 메타인지, 숙달접근목표, 의사소통능력, 자율적 교육풍토 변인을 창의ㆍ인성에 영향을 미치는 변인으로 상정하였으며 수도권 대학생 301명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였다. 연구결과, 1) 메타인지, 숙달접근목표, 의사소통능력 변인각각은 창의성에 직접적인 영향을 미치고, 2) 인성에 직접적인 영향을 주는 변인은 숙달접근목표, 의사소통능력, 변인이었으며, 메타인지 변인은 유의하지 않은 것으로 나타났다. 또한, 3) 자율적 교육풍토는 메타인지, 숙달접근목표, 의사소통능력에 직접적인 영향력을 미치며, 이 세 변인들을 통해 창의ㆍ인성에 간접적인 영향력을 갖는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구결과를 기반으로 대학생들의 창의ㆍ인성을 향상시키기 위해서 교과과정 내에 메타인지, 숙달접근목표, 의사소통능력, 자율적 교육풍토를 촉진하는 것을 강조하였으며 이를 실천하기 위한 전략으로 미시적으로는 팀 단위 수업에서부터 거시적으로는 교과융합 등 실천적방안을 제시하고자 하였다. The purpose of this study is to identify the structural relationships between factors that affect students’ creativity and integrity. From this study, we tried to draw implications for developing a teaching program and implementation strategy that can effectively improve creativity and integrity. A survey was distributed to 301 university students in the Seoul metropolitan area to conduct this study. Based on the results, metacognition, mastery-approach goal, and communication skills were shown to have a direct effect on the creativity. While mastery-approach goal, and communication skills also showed a direct effect on the integrity, metacognition did not. Autonomous educational climate showed a direct effect on metacognition, mastery-approach goal and communication skills, as well as an indirect effect on the creativity and integrity by mediating metacognition, mastery-approach goal and communication skills. The results of this study emphasize the importance of promoting metacognition, mastery-approach goal, communication skills, and autonomous educational climate within curriculum in order to improve the creativity and integrity of university students.

        SNS 콘텐츠 정보 특성이 건강식품 브랜드태도와 구매의도에 미치는 영향 -일반적 특성을 중심으로-

        본 연구는 건강식품 시장에서 일반적 특성에 따라 SNS 콘텐츠 정보 특성이 브랜드태도와 구매의도에 미치는 영향을 실증적으로 연구하고자 하였다. 연구의 목적을 수행하기 위해 SNS를 통해 건강식품 정보를 본 경험이 있는 20~60대 전국 남녀 200명을 대상으로 예비조사를 실시하였고, 260명을 대상으로 본 조사를 하여 분석한 연구결과는 SNS 콘텐츠 정보특성 중 정보제공성과 소비자와 콘텐츠간의 상호작용성, 정보신뢰성이 성별, 연령, SNS 채널별로 브랜드태도에 영향을 미치고 있으며, 소비자와 콘텐츠간의 상호작용성과 정보신뢰성이 성별, 연령, SNS 채널별로 구매의도에 영향을 미치고 있는 것을 확인하였다. 그러나 종속변수인 건강식품의 브랜드태도가 구매의도에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지의 연구가 부족한 상황이며, 더 나아가 SNS상에서 구매로 연결되는 세부적인 콘텐츠의 유형에 대한 연구가 필요할 것으로 판단된다. This study attempted to empirically study the effect of SNS content information characteristics on brand attitude and purchase intention according to general characteristics in the health food market. To carry out the purpose of the study, a preliminary survey was conducted on 200 men and women in their 20s and 60s nationwide who had experience of viewing health food information through SNS. According to the results of this survey conducted on 260 people, among the information characteristics of SNS contents, information provision, interaction between consumers and contents, and information reliability affect brand attitude by gender, age, and SNS channel. It was confirmed that the interactivity and information reliability between consumers and contents influence the purchase intention by gender, age, and SNS channel. However, there is insufficient research on how the brand attitude of health food, which is a dependent variable, affects purchase intention. Furthermore, it is considered necessary to study the types of detailed contents that lead to purchases on SNS.

        지구온난화가 가정부문 에너지 소비량에 미치는 영향 분석

        지구온난화에 따른 기후변화로 인해 평균기온이 상승하고 있으며, 이러한 추세는 앞으로도 계속될 것으로 전망되고 있다. 기후변화는 생태계뿐만 아니라 사회의 광범위한 부문에 영향을 미치고 있으므로 그 효과를 분석하여 대응할 필요가 있다. 본 연구는 지구온난화가 가정부문 전력수요에 미치는 영향을 장ㆍ단기로 나누어 분석하기 위해 ARDL모형과 오차수정모형을 이용하였으며, 기후변수로 냉방 및 난방도일지수를 사용했다. 분석 결과, 가정용 전력수요는 냉방도일에 유의하게 영향을 받았으나, 난방도일에는 영향을 받지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 냉방도일지수의 탄력성은 장기에 0.35, 단기에 0.12로 추정되어, 가정용 전력수요에 미치는 영향은 단기보다 장기적으로 더 큰 것으로 나타났다. The annual average temperature has increased because of climate change due to global warming. This constant rise in temperature is expected to continue. Climatic change can affect social and economic features including energy consumption. This paper analyzes how global warming makes an effect on residential electricity demand. The long and short-run demands for residential electricity were estimated with the ARDL model and Error correction model. The results show that CDD(Cooling Degree Days) variables significantly have an effect on residential electricity demand. But electricity demand is not influenced by HDD(Heating Degree Days). If 1% of CDD increase, the residential electricity consumption will rise 0.35% in the long-run and 0.11% in the short-run. The effect of CDD on the residential electricity demand in the long-run is larger than in the short-run.

        The performance of explosive specific peptide receptors has been evaluated using the static deflection measurements of microcantilever sensors. The receptor layer, which is 2,4-dinitrotoluene (DNT) specific peptide screened from the phage display method, has been used for modifying the one side of the microcantilever surface. The comparison of two static deflection responses for 2,4-DNT and toluene has shown that the screened peptide receptor is high selective to 2,4-DNT. The deflection responses for various concentrations of 2,4-DNT molecules have been measured also, and the maximum 700 ㎚ deflection signal has been measured for 1.1 mM 2,4-DNT solution injection.
