      • Mobile Security and its Application

Jun Hou Chan,Jer Lang Hong 보안공학연구지원센터 2016 International Journal of Security and Its Applicat Vol.10 No.10

Ownership of a smartphone has never been easier nowadays, and it is supported by the fact that most of the people around us have a smartphone or an equivalent smart device. What is smartphone and why is it a smart? A smartphone by definition is as the name suggests, it is a phone is smart enough to not only be limited to the features and capabilities of a traditional cellular phone but also perform what a “smart” device can. And in recent years, the device that is deemed as the most intelligent device is the computer as it is the most advance piece of technology that is commercially available to the general public. Why this is so, is because in our opinion it has revolutionized how most if not all of the societies of today work. Hence what makes a smartphone is the mobile operating system that it is built upon, which is similar to a computer. It is becoming more and more of a common sight nowadays and this is because they are being offered at a price where more people are able to afford, hence they are reaching the hands of ceiling of the lower income families, all the way up to the higher income families. Back then, pure play devices were mostly simple in terms of how it function and works, hence if possible, we could suggest that the security aspect was never or rather has never been an issue other than the alteration of data after operation such as the tape of video recorders or images captured but never in the process, in the sense that there were no interruptions during operation, most likely is because it was clear and visible, but nowadays when you combine all of those devices into a complex entity, we tend to leave a hole in the cloth somewhere that we did not or rather can’t see due to the overwhelming amount of other things that we have. In this paper we discuss the current state of the commercially available operating systems of the two biggest names in smart devices, namely iOS and Android; and measure how secure and/or vulnerable (susceptible) are they to malwares and the nature of the mobile ad hoc network. We first analyze the integrity of the core of a smart device, the operating system and then use it to evaluate the effectiveness of their techniques and defenses of preventing and identifying malwares.

Fabrication of mesoporous silica-covered gold nanostars for chemophototherapy

Jun Hou,Yanbao Zhao,Lei Sun,Xueyan Zou 한국공업화학회 2022 Journal of Industrial and Engineering Chemistry Vol.114 No.-

Gold nanomaterials have attracted great interest in the fight against cancer due to their surface features. In this study, gold nanostar (GNS) cloaked with mesoporous silica (GNS@mSiO2) carriers were preparedfor controlled drug release. The GNS core presents a branched morphology with tip-to-tip diameter of80–120 nm and core of 40–60 nm. In this system, GNS not only served as photothermal agent but alsoas Raman signal enhancement matrix. After encapsulating doxorubicin (DOX) within the GNS@mSiO2carrier, hyaluronic acid (HA) was coated on the GNS@mSiO2 surface to seal the loaded-drug of channels. The obtained DOX-GNS@mSiO2/HA displayed pH/enzyme-triggered drug release and photothermalchemotherapeutic effect.

      • Bifurcations of A Third-Order Common-Base Transistor Circuit

Hou, Jian Jun,Wu, Jing Tang,Du, Xi Yu 대한전자공학회 1992 HICEC:Harbin International Conference on Electroni Vol.1 No.1

This paper reports the dynamics and a great variety of one parameter bifurcation phenomena observed in the laboratory and confirmed by extensive computer simulations for the circuit reported firstly in [2]. The circuit consists of five elements, where the only nonlinear element is a common-base transistor pair with the characteristics of a current-controlled nonlinear resistor. Several strange attractors, the intermittent attractor, periodic windows, cascades of period doubling, period plus two and period minus one phenomena are observed by adjusting the value of L₁. The computer simulation results agree with the experiment results quite nicely. Hopf bifurcation is proved mathematically and the Lyapunov dimensions of several chaotic attractors are derived to confirm the existence of chaos.

Analysis of Patients’ Consent Right in a Surgery -Triggered from the social event that a parturient in Yulin jumped off a tall building-

        Hou, Jun-Ling 중국지역학회 2019 중국지역연구 Vol.6 No.1

The incident that a parturient jumped off a window of a hospital raised people’s reconsideration regarding the assignment of Patient Surgery Consent Right. Since the establishment of People’s Republic of China, this thought experienced three development phases: Administrative Instructions, Administrative Legislation, and the Legislation of National People’s Congress. Based on the consent of family members or interested parties, the right of consent mode, is violating not only the Patient’s right of free choice and informed consent, but the right of doctor’s special handling right. The author believes under non-emergency circumstance and the same kinship sequence, the Consent Right shall be assigned by the rule of rational reasoning, which presumed from blood relationship to the closeness of kinship and to closeness relation in actual life. In addition, author believes the right assignment shall be placed with the perspective of family members, interested parties and doctor’s special disposition, the law shall be amended from above mentioned aspects accordingly.

Reduction of Peak-to-Average Power Ratio of Multicarrier Modulation Signals with Adaptive Companding Scheme

( Jun Hou ),( Xiangmo Zhao ),( Fei Hui ) 한국인터넷정보학회 2016 KSII Transactions on Internet and Information Syst Vol.10 No.7

High peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR) of transmitted signals is a major drawback in Multicarrier modulation (MCM) systems. Companding transform is a well-known method to reduce the PAPR without restrictions on system parameters such as the number of subcarriers, frame format and constellation type. In this paper, a novel adaptive companding scheme, mainly focuses on compressing the large signals into the desirable distribution, is proposed to reduce the PAPR with low implementation complexity. In addition, formulas to calculate its PAPR and bit error rate (BER) performance are also derived. Simulation results confirm that the proposed scheme can achieve an effective tradeoff between PAPR reduction and BER performance by carefully choosing the companding parameter.

      • Research and Implementation of a Vertical Search Engine in the Financial Domain

        Yue Hou-guang,ZhangLing,Meng Fan-jun,Songhong-hao 보안공학연구지원센터 2014 International Journal of u- and e- Service, Scienc Vol.7 No.5

The exponential growth of the data on the web makes it difficult for web users to locate and obtain the interesting information. The general web search engines, such as Google, Baidu, reduce the degree of difficulty to some extent. The rise of vertical search engine provides a promising approach to address the big challenge. A Chinese vertical search engine is urgently needed to provide professional financial information retrieval service for related financial institutions and government agencies. Therefore, in this paper we investigate, design and implement a vertical search engine in the financial domain. Based onNutch plug-in mechanism, we provide and implement the details of a vertical search engine in the financial domain, especially in the finance domain focused crawler. Experimental results show that, the finance domain focused crawler based on Nutch plug-in mechanism has good performance and can satisfy practical requirements of medium search application, and the system runs well.

Feasibility Analysis on the Support of Rock Slopes Against Flexural Toppling Failure Using the DDA Method-A Case Study

Wen Jun Gong,Zhigang Tao,Man Chao He,Hui Jun Hou 대한토목학회 2022 KSCE JOURNAL OF CIVIL ENGINEERING Vol.26 No.9

As a typical and complex failure type of rock slopes, flexural toppling failure has increasingly received attention, mainly focused on its failure mechanism and introducing a proper numerical method to reproduce the failure phenomena. However, there are few studies related to the supporting mechanism against flexural toppling failure. This study attempted to make a preliminary analysis on the research gap. For this purpose, an anti-dip layered rock slope supported with anchor cables that failed owning to flexural toppling was taken as an example, and the numerical method discontinuous deformation analysis (DDA) was taken as the major analytical tool. Firstly, the rationality of DDA was verified by correctly simulating the failure state of the anti-layered rock slope and the underlying failure mechanism was studied. The results indicated that the lack of the support from slope toe is the crucial factor inducing the flexural toppling failure, which posed a great obstacle to the further excavation of the open-pit mine. Secondly, by introducing the anchor cable support to the slope toe in the DDA model, the interaction mechanism between the anchor cables and the rock slope was investigated. the results indicated that the supporting system of the ordinary anchor cables is very sensitive to the inhomogeneous flexural toppling deformation. The tension values of the anchor cables are very inhomogeneous, and once some of anchor cables beyond their tension limit, the anchor cables failed, which will greatly threaten the safety of the adjacent anchor cables and even the stability of the whole slope. Meanwhile, a novel anchor cable called constant-resistance-large-deformation (CRLD) anchor cable was introduced for a comparative study using DDA. just replacing the anchor cables of the original slope with the CRLD anchor cables, the slope can reach stable state eventually even without the slope toe being enhanced. In addition, the CRLD anchor cables were able to support the slope well against the inhomogeneous deformation, because they can provide high constant resistances and withstand large deformations. This study can provide a deeper insight into the support mechanism for the snit-layered rock slope against flexural toppling failure and introduce a novel supporting method for such slopes.

      • Systemic Analysis on Laparoscope-Assisted Gastrectomy for Patients with Gastric Cancer

        Hu, Jun-Hong,Tang, Hong-Na,Ma, Yong-Ping,Wang, Chen-Yu,Yao, Kun-Hou,Zhang, Jun-Jie,Ren, Xue-Qun Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2015 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.16 No.5

Background: Laparoscope-assisted gastrectomy in treating patients with gastric cancers developed with a background of highly invasive traditional surgery and is being increasingly performed in the Asian Pacific area. This study systemically investigated the technique and clinical results for comparison with traditional radical subtotal gastrectomy for gastric cancers. Methods: Clinical studies evaluating the effectiveness and side effects of laparoscope-assisted gastrectomy in treating patients with gastric cancers were identified using a predefined search strategy. Summary rates of effectiveness and side effects of laparoscope-assisted gastrectomy were calculated. Results: Thirteen clinical studies which including 1,412 patients with gastric cancer treated by laparoscope-assisted gastrectomy were considered eligible for inclusion. Systemic analysis showed that, for all patients, the pooled resection rate was 100%. Major adverse effects were anastomotic stenosis, abdominal abscess, abdominal bleeding, postoperative ileus. Treatment related death occurred in 0. 71% (10/1412). Conclusion: This systemic analysis suggests that laparoscope-assisted gastrectomy in treating patients with gastric cancers is associated with good curative rate and acceptable complications.
