이신언,조병섭,한권상 한국스포츠리서치 2003 한국 스포츠 리서치 Vol.14 No.6
The purpose of this study were (1) to determine the changes in functional fitness with aging, and (2) to assess the relationship of muscular strength and locomotion ability with subjective functional fitness. The subjects were 479 Korean women(65+ years) living in Seoul, Taegu, and Jinju cities. Korea. The average age was 72.0±4.8. Thirteen objective functional fitness items and 11 subjective functional fitness questionnaire items associated with their daily living were measured. Results of data analysis indicated that the muscular strength and locomotion ability decreased considerably with aging. The relationship between the objective functional fitness and the subjective functional fitness was significant in 10 items. It is suggested that maintenance and promotion of muscular strength and locomotion ability may be important in order to raise the level of independence in daily living of older Korean women.

The various existing situations like overpopulation, urbanization, industrialization, and heavy traffic volume in the Seoul metropolitan area have led to the air pollution problem, traffic problem, and increase in opportunities of residing underground place. So, recently in Korea, the residents using underground working place have been of great concerns on indoor air pollutants such as HCHO, radon, particulate matter, carbon monoxide. However, the studies on indoor air pollution have been not extensively conducted in Korea. Indoor radon is an odorless, colorless, tasteless, invisible, inert, and naturally occurring radioactive gas. And it has been known as one of the notorious carcinogens. The purpose of this study was to survey the concentration variations of radon in the subway stations located Seoul metropolitan area. Total of 216 subway stations were surveyed by the continuous radon monitors from Mar. 2001 to Jun. 2001. The study showed that average radon levels of concourses in each line were 1.51, 1.45, 1.51, 1.23, 1.28, 1.37, 1.12, 1.28 pCi/L and those of platforms in each line were 2.09, 1.43, 1.37, 1.67, 1.44, 1.54, 1.40, 1.22 pCi/L, respectively. The study results showed that the average radon concentrations were 1.19 pCi/L in outdoor, 1.34 pCi/L in concourse, and 1.52 pCi/L in platform, respectively.

The chronic suppurative otitis media is one of the most common disease in the otologic field. And the works on bacterial distribution of chronic suppurative otitis media were studied by many otologist, but there is some difference. The bacteriologic study was done on 126 cases of chronic suppurative otitis media who visited the Department of Otolaryngology, Chosun University Hospital between January 1989 and December 1989 and the following conclusions were obtained. 1) In sex distribution, the male had higher incidence rate than female (M: 56.3%, F:43.7%). 2) In age distribution, 3rd decade (34.1%), 2nd decade (34.1%), were most prevalent. 3) In duration of the disease, the hightest frequence was below 5 years duration 4) Among 126 cases, 98 cases(77.8%) were unilateral (right ear was 47 cases(37.3%) and left ear was 51 cases(40.5%))and 28 cases(22.2%) were bilateral. 5) The 136 cases(88.3%) showed the positive results under culture, but 18 cases(11.7%) didn't growthed. Among 136 cases 95 cases(61.7%) had single infection and the 41 cases(26.6%) had mixed infection. 6) The most frequently isolated bacteria was staphylococcus(38 strains, 27.9%) and next were proteus(27 strains, 19.9%) and pseudomonas (22 strains, 16.2%). 7) The Staphylococcus was sensitive to cephalothin(94.7%), amikacin(78.9%) and resistant to penicaIin(63.2%). 8) The Proteus was sensitive to amikacin(92.6%), cephalothin(88.9%) and resistant to minocycline(81.5%) and gentamicin(70.4%). 9) The Pseudomonas was sensitive to amikadn(86.4%), gemtamicin(59.1%) and resistant to minocycline(90.9%), ampicillin(86.4%) and cephalothin(86.4%).
Interference mitigation using uplink power control for two-tier femtocell networks
Han-Shin Jo,Cheol Mun,June Moon,Jong-Gwan Yook IEEE 2009 IEEE TRANSACTIONS ON WIRELESS COMMUNICATIONS Vol.8 No.10

This paper proposes two interference mitigation strategies that adjust the maximum transmit power of femtocell users to suppress the cross-tier interference at a macrocell base station (BS). The open-loop and the closed-loop control suppress the cross-tier interference less than a fixed threshold and an adaptive threshold based on the noise and interference (NI) level at the macrocell BS, respectively. Simulation results show that both schemes effectively compensate the uplink throughput degradation of the macrocell BS due to the cross-tier interference and that the closed-loop control provides better femtocell throughput than the open-loop control at a minimal cost of macrocell throughput.

Sum-Rate Capacity Evaluation Methodology for MIMO-OFDMA Systems
Han-Shin Jo 보안공학연구지원센터 2015 International Journal of Multimedia and Ubiquitous Vol.10 No.2
Recently, the long-term evolution (LTE) system has emerged as a major concern within the 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP and 3GPP2). Orthogonal frequency division multiple accesses (OFDMA) have been considered within the LTE system as a major technology for cellular radio access. In addition, numerous research groups have proposed the incorporation of technologies such as multi-user scheduling, multi-input multi-output (MIMO), and adaptive modulation and coding (AMC) into OFDMA. However, system-level simulation is required to assess how these technologies interact and to evaluate and optimize each technology with respect to system-level performance in real cellular environments. This article discusses an evaluation methodology of system-level simulation for a MIMO-OFDMA system. The approach by which the capacity evaluation of the MIMO-OFDMA system was conducted and resulting sum-rate capacity is discussed.
Self-Optimized Coverage Coordination in Femtocell Networks
Han-Shin Jo,Cheol Mun,Moon, June,Jong-Gwan Yook IEEE 2010 IEEE TRANSACTIONS ON WIRELESS COMMUNICATIONS Vol.9 No.10

This paper proposes a self-optimized coverage coordination scheme for two-tier femtocell networks, in which a femtocell base station adjusts the transmit power based on the statistics of the signal and the interference power that is measured at a femtocell downlink. Furthermore, an analytic expression is derived for the coverage leakage probability that a femtocell coverage area leaks into an outdoor macrocell. The coverage analysis is verified by simulation, which shows that the proposed scheme provides sufficient indoor femtocell coverage and that the femtocell coverage does not leak into an outdoor macrocell.

Multiuser Heterogeneous-SNR MIMO Systems
( Han-shin Jo ) 한국인터넷정보학회 2014 KSII Transactions on Internet and Information Syst Vol.8 No.8
Previous studies on multiuser multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) mostly assume a homogeneous signal-to-noise ratio (SNR), where each user has the same average SNR. However, real networks are more likely to feature heterogeneous SNRs (a random-valued average SNR). Motivated by this fact, we analyze a multiuser MIMO downlink with a zero-forcing (ZF) receiver in a heterogeneous SNR environment. A transmitter with M antennas constructs M orthonormal beams and performs the SNR-based proportional fairness (S-PF) scheduling where data are transmitted to users each with the highest ratio of the SNR to the average SNR per beam. We develop a new analytical expression for the sum throughput of the multiuser MIMO system. Furthermore, simply modifying the expression provides the sum throughput for important special cases such as homogeneous SNR, max-rate scheduling, or high SNR. From the analysis, we obtain new insights (lemmas): i) S-PF scheduling maximizes the sum throughput in the homogeneous SNR and ii) under high SNR and a large number of users, S-PF scheduling yields the same multiuser diversity for both heterogeneous SNRs and homogeneous SNRs. Numerical simulation shows the interesting result that the sum throughput is not always proportional to M for a small number of users.
