      • A Reflective Heterogeneous Service Coordination Middleware Based On Mobile Agents in Wireless Environments

        Software services distributed in open wireless environments are implemented using different middleware types and advertised using different discovery protocols. Client application needs to adopt a flexible approach to discover and bind these services. Compared with other related work, this paper presents a new reflective coordination middleware based on mobile agent. It dynamically adapts both its binding and discovery protocol to allow interoperation with heterogeneous services by uploading different functional components. By dynamically creating subagents at run time, it can interoperate with multiple services in parallel. As a result, the client burden is released, and the efficiency of the coordination process is enhanced.

      • A Reliable and Configurable E-commerce Mechanism based on Mobile Agents in Mobile Wireless Environments

        Because of the limited capability of mobile devices and lower bandwidth of wireless network, Web-based e-commerce in mobile wireless environments suffers more challenges and it needs an efficient and reliable mechanism to support the process. This paper presents a flexible and configurable mechanism, which uses mobile agents as brokers of mobile device to communicate with Web server, thus to reduce the unnecessary wireless communication costs of mobile client. It can also facilitate mobile device recovery back when suffering a failure to increase the reliability of the whole application process. Compared with other mechanisms through performance analysis, our mechanism shows its efficiency and reliability.

        중국 녹색물류의 활성화 방안에 관한 연구

        녹색물류는 하나의 물류 산업에 있어 새로운 모델이다. 중국은 급속한 경제성장으로 물류 산업의 중요성이 증가하고 있다. 그러나, 중국 물류는 새로운 현대물류의 발전추세에도 불구하고 초기 수준에 놓여 있다. 중국 정부와 기업은 아직 까지 녹색물류에 대한 필요성을 강하게 인식하지 못하고 있다. 이러한 인식부족으로 녹색물류에 대한 개념이 널리 보급되지 못하고 있는 실정이다. 중국의 녹색물류에 대한 문제점을 살펴보면, 첫째, 녹색물류에 대한 필요성을 경제주체 가 인식하지 못하고 있다는 점이다. 둘째, 기초 물류시설이 미비하고, 물류의 정보화 정도가 낮다는 것이다. 셋째, 전문 녹색물류 기술을 보유한 인재가 부족하며, 인재 교육 체계가 부족하다는 점이다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 중국의 녹색물류 문제점을 해결하기 위해 다음과 같은 방안을 제시하였다. 첫째, 정부는 녹색물류를 발전하기 위하여 통일된 녹색물류 평가기준을 제정하고 관련 법규 제정의 가속화하고 정부녹색구매 적극적인 도입하고 정부의 보조정책을 실시하여야 한다. 또한 물류기초시설의 건설을 가속화하고 물류인재 양성을 많은 투자를 하여야 한다. 둘째, 기업은 녹색물류를 발전하기 위해서 반드시 녹색물류 시스템을 도입하고, 녹색상품의 연구개발을 추진하여 녹색물류의 경영전략을 정확히 계획하며 녹색인증을 획득하여야 한다. 셋째, 소비자들은 녹색소비의식을 수립하고 일상생활에서 녹색소비행위에 적극적인 참여하며 친환경 제품을 선택하여 녹색물류발전을 추진하여야 한다. This dissertation compares the relevant research situation and development status of the foreign green logistics. Combining the corresponding enterprise case and the exterior characteristics of the development of green logistics to analyze the present situation of China s green Logistics. In addition, utilizing the pest derivatives (PESTEL) analysis to explore the macro-environment such as politics, economy, society, technology, environment, and law of China s green logistics and indicate the impact of green logistics development and China s green logistics problems. Contemporarily, proposing corresponding countermeasures to promote the development of green logistics in China. In this dissertation, the following methods were presented to solve these problems. First, government should enact standard evaluation criterion for green logistics, speed up the establishment of relevant legislation, and introduce government green purchase, and conduct supportive policies in order to develop green logistics. Moreover, government should accelerate the consturction of logistics infrastructure and invest more money in training competent experts in logistics. Secondly, companies should establish the principle of green development, promote the research and development of green products, plan business strategies of green logistics accurately, and obtain green certification in order to foster green logistics. Thirdly, consumers should establish green consumption awareness, participate in green consumption behaviors in their ordinary lives, select environment-friendly products and implement the development of green logistics. This dissertation proposed activation methods for the development of green logistics with reference to research studies conducted by domestic and foreign scholars. There are several limitations in all aspects such as theory and practice since green logistics in China remains at an early stage. Therefore, further research should analyze problems in the course of developing green logistics in China, present more appropriate solutions, and speed up the development of green logistics in China.

        A study of deterioration of reinforced concrete beams under various forms of simulated acid rain attack in the laboratory

        This paper studies the behaviour of deteriorated reinforced concrete (RC) beams attacked by various forms of simulated acid rain. An artificial rainfall simulator was firstly designed and evaluated. Eleven RC beams ($120mm{\times}200mm{\times}1800mm$) were then constructed in the laboratory. Among them, one was acting as a reference beam and the others were subjected to three accelerated corrosion methods, including immersion, wetting-drying, and artificial rainfall methods, to simulate the attack of real acid rain. Acid solutions with pH levels of 1.5 and 2.5 were considered. Next, ultrasonic, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), dynamic, and three-point bending tests were performed to investigate the mechanical properties of concrete and flexural behaviour of the RC beams. It can be concluded that the designed artificial simulator can be effectively used to simulate the real acid rainfall. Both the immersion and wetting-drying methods magnify the effects of the real acid rainfall on the RC beams.

        Improvement of FK506 Production by Selection of 4-Aminobutyric Acid-tolerant Mutant and Optimization of its Fermentation Using Response Surface Methodology

        Tacrolimus (FK506), a 23-membered polyketidemacrolide with immunosuppressant activity, can be produced byStreptomyces tsukubaensis. We studied a variety of mutant strainsof S. tsukubaensis for the microbial production of FK506. Thebest strain (CZ-19) was obtained from the parent strain LLZ-1 bynitrosoguanidine mutation and 4-Aminobutyric acid (FK506precursor structure analogs) adaption. In the shake-flask experiments,titer of FK506 by CZ-19 was 532.44 mg/L, increased by 65.13%compared to that of the parent strain. Through single factorexperiments and response surface methodology, we furtheroptimized the medium for improved FK506 production by CZ-19in shake flask culture. The optimal medium for enhanced FK506production was as follows: 17.19 g/L corn starch, 21.78 g/Lglucose, 8.06 g/L peptone, and 18.98 mg/L 4-aminobutyric acid. The predicted FK506 titer was 906.49 mg/L, and the experimentaldata confirmed the validity of the model. The present studydemonstrates that S. tsukubaensis CZ-19 is a promising strain forindustrial production of FK506.

        Preparation and Investigation of Ulex Europaeus Agglutinin IConjugated Liposomes as Potential Oral Vaccine Carriers

        We prepared and optimized Ulex europaeus agglutinin I (UEAI)-modified Bovine serum albumin (BSA)-encapsulating liposomes (UEAI-LIP) as oral vaccine carriers and examined the feasibility of inducing systemic and mucosal immune responses by oral administration of UEAILIP. The prepared systems were characterized in vitro for their average size, zeta potential,encapsulation efficiency (EE%) and conjugation efficiency (CE%). In vitro release studies indicated that the presence of UEAI around the optimized liposomes was able to prevent a burst release of loaded BSA and provide sustained release of the encapsulated protein. In vivo immune-stimulating results in KM mice showed that BSA given intramuscularly generated systemic response only but both systemic and mucosal immune responses could be induced simultaneously in the groups in which BSA-loaded liposomes (LIP) and UEAI-LIP were administered intragastrically. Furthermore, the modification of UEAI on the surface of liposomes could further enhance the IgA and IgG levels obviously. In conclusion, this study demonstrated the high potential of lectin-modified liposomes containing the antigen as carriers for oral vaccine.

        Construction of an Efficient Mutant Strain of Trichosporonoides oedocephalis with HOG1 Gene Deletion for Production of Erythritol

        The mitogen-activated protein kinase HOG1 (high-osmolarity glycerol response pathway) plays a crucial role in the response of yeast to hyperosmotic shock. Trichosporonoides oedocephalis produces large amounts of polyols (e.g., erythritol and glycerol) in a culture medium. However, the effects of HOG1 gene knockout and environmental stress on the production of these polyols have not yet been studied. In this study, a To-HOG1 null mutation was constructed in T. oedocephalis using the loxP-Kan-loxP/Cre system as replacement of the targeted genes, and the resultant mutants showed much smaller colonies than the wild-type controls. Interestingly, compared with the wild-type strains, the results of shake-flask culture showed that To-HOG1 null mutation increased erythritol production by 1.44-fold while decreasing glycerol production by 71.23%. In addition, this study investigated the effects of citric acid stress on the T. oedocephalis HOG1 null mutants and the wild-type strain. When the supplementation of citric acid in the fermentation medium was controlled at 0.3% (w/v), the concentration of erythritol produced from the wild-type and To-HOG1 knockout mutant strains improved by 18.21% and 21.65%, respectively.

        Growth Inhibitory and Pro-Apoptotic Effects of Hirsuteine in Chronic Myeloid Leukemia Cells through Targeting Sphingosine Kinase 1

        Chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) is a slowly progressing hematopoietic cell disorder. Sphingosine kinase 1 (SPHK1) plays established roles in tumor initiation, progression, and chemotherapy resistance in a wide range of cancers, including leukemia. However, small-molecule inhibitors targeting SPHK1 in CML still need to be developed. This study revealed the role of SPHK1 in CML and investigated the potential anti-leukemic activity of hirsuteine (HST), an indole alkaloid obtained from the oriental plant Uncaria rhynchophylla, in CML cells. These results suggest that SPHK1 is highly expressed in CML cells and that overexpression of SPHK1 represents poor clinical outcomes in CML patients. HST exposure led to G2/M phase arrest, cellular apoptosis, and downregulation of Cyclin B1 and CDC2 and cleavage of Caspase 3 and PARP in CML cells. HST shifted sphingolipid rheostat from sphingosine 1-phosphate (S1P) towards the ceramide coupled with a marked inhibition of SPHK1. Mechanistically, HST significantly blocked SPHK1/S1P/S1PR1 and BCR-ABL/PI3K/Akt pathways. In addition, HST can be docked with residues of SPHK1 and shifts the SPHK1 melting curve, indicating the potential protein-ligand interactions between SPHK1 and HST in both CML cells. SPHK1 overexpression impaired apoptosis and proliferation of CML cells induced by HST alone. These results suggest that HST, which may serve as a novel and specific SPHK1 inhibitor, exerts anti-leukemic activity by inhibiting the SPHK1/S1P/ S1PR1 and BCR-ABL/PI3K/Akt pathways in CML cells, thus conferring HST as a promising anti-leukemic drug for CML therapy in the future.
