Analytical moment expression for linear element in diagonal form fast multipole boundary element method

Haijun Wu,Weikang Jiang,Wenbo Lu 대한기계학회 2011 JOURNAL OF MECHANICAL SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY Vol.25 No.7

The moment of diagonal form fast multipole boundary element for the Helmholtz equation in essence is the surface integration of exponential function on an element. In this paper, the moment for a linear triangular element can be integrated analytically by transforming the coordinates from global Cartesian coordinates to local area coordinates. The derived analytical moment evaluation is compared with the classical numerical calculation, and results show that analytical method makes the moment calculation efficient, stable, and accurate.

Effect of under-platform dampers on the forced vibration of high-speed rotating blades

Yanan Wu,Haijun Xuan,Changyao Wu,Dong Mi 대한기계학회 2022 JOURNAL OF MECHANICAL SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY Vol.36 No.8

Under-platform dampers (UPDs) are commonly used to adapt turbine blade vibration characteristics by friction. However, acquiring their effect on the forced vibration of high-speed rotating blades is difficult. In this paper, the blade vibration experiments with atomised liquid-jet excitation in high-speed rotation were designed to compare the effects of different UPDs on blade vibration. Also, the damping ratios of different UPDS were obtained by numerical calculation methods. The experimental and computational results showed that when the mass of the dampers was within the appropriate range, the maximum vibration responses decreased significantly, and optimum mass of UPDs reduced the vibration by 28 % compared with the vibration responses without dampers. Moreover, the frequencies of the maximum blade response increased with the mass of the UPDs by up to 4.3 %. Meanwhile, the blade vibration response had multiple amplitude peaks due to the dry friction damping with installed UPDs.

      • Cathode interfacial layer-free all small-molecule solar cells with efficiency over 12%

        Wu, Hao,Yue, Qihui,Zhou, Zichun,Chen, Shanshan,Zhang, Dongyang,Xu, Shengjie,Zhou, Huiqiong,Yang, Changduk,Fan, Haijun,Zhu, Xiaozhang The Royal Society of Chemistry 2019 Journal of materials chemistry. A, Materials for e Vol.7 No.26

While nonfullerene small-molecule solar cells (NF-SMSCs) have relatively inferior performance compared with nonfullerene polymer solar cells, their performance is improving. In this work, a weak crystalline molecular donor BSFTR, was designed and synthesized to achieve efficient NF-SMSCs. By blending with a strong crystalline acceptor NBDTP-Fout, BSFTR achieves a well-intermixed blending morphology, which favors the formation of efficient charge percolation pathways with suppressed recombination. The BSFTR:NBDTP-Fout device obtains a power-conversion efficiency (PCE) of approximately 11.97% by achieving an efficient cathode interfacial layer (CIL)-free device that delivers an even higher PCE of 12.3%, which ranks among the top values for the reported NF-SMSCs. This work provides a simple solution for achieving high-performance NF-SMSCs by identifying the key factors for designing efficient, cost-saving, mass production-favorable CIL-free organic photovoltaic devices.

Analysis and Design Considerations for a High Power Buck Derived LED Driver with Extended Output Voltage and Low Total Harmonic Distortion

        Haijun Lv,Xinke Wu,Junming Zhang 전력전자학회 2017 JOURNAL OF POWER ELECTRONICS Vol.17 No.5

In order to reduce the cost, improve the efficiency and simplify the complicated control of existing isolated LED drivers, an improved boundary conduction mode (BCM) Buck ac-dc light emitting diode (LED) driver with extended output voltage and low total harmonic distortion is proposed. With a coupled inductor winding and a stacked output, its output voltage can be elevated to a much higher value when compared to that of the conventional Buck ac-dc converter, without sacrificing the input harmonics and power factor. Therefore, the proposed Buck LED driver can meet the IEC61000-3-2 (Class C) limitation and has a low THD. The operating principle of the topology and the design methodology of the ac-dc LED driver are presented. A 150 W ac-dc prototype was built in the laboratory and it shows that the input current harmonics meet the lighting standard. In addition, the THD is less than 16% at a typical ac input. The peak efficiency is higher than 96.5% at a full load and a normal input.

A Hybrid Link Protection Scheme for Ensuring Network Service Availability in Link-state Routing Networks

        Haijun Geng,Han Zhang,Xingang Shi,Zhiliang Wang,Xia Yin,Ju Zhang,Zhiguo Hu,Yong Wu 한국통신학회 2020 Journal of communications and networks Vol.22 No.1

The internet is playing an increasingly crucial role inboth personal and business activities. In addition, with the emergenceof real-time, delay sensitive and mission-critical applications, stringent network availability requirement is put forward for internetservice providers (ISPs). However, commonly deployed intradomainlink-state routing protocols react to link failures by globallyexchanging link state advertisements and recalculating routingtable, inevitably causing significant forwarding discontinuityafter a failure. Therefore, the loop-free criterion (LFC) approachhas been widely deployed by many ISPs for coping with the singlenetwork component failure scenario in large internet backbones. The success of LFC lies in its inherent simplicity, but this comesat the expense of letting certain failure scenarios go unprotected. To achieve full failure coverage with LFC without incurring significantextra overhead, we propose a novel link protection scheme, hybrid link protection (HLP), to achieve failure resilient routing. Compared to previous schemes, HLP ensures high network availabilityin a more efficient way. HLP is implemented in two stages. Stage one provides an efficient LFC based method (MNP-e). Thecomplexity of the algorithm is less than that of Dijkstra’s algorithmand can provide the similar network availability with LFC. Stage two provides backup path protection (BPP) based on MNP-e,where only a minimum number of links need to be protected, usingspecial paths and packet headers, to meet the network availabilityrequirement. We evaluate these algorithms in a wide spread ofrelevant topologies, both real and synthetic, and the results revealthat HLP can achieve high network availability without introducingconspicuous overhead. HLP not only needs around 10% time ofthat of full protection, but also provides full protection capabilitiesthat full protection provide.

Effect of dietary protein sources on production performance, egg quality, and plasma parameters of laying hens

        Xiaocui Wang,Haijun Zhang,Hao Wang,Jing Wang,Shugeng Wu,Guanghai Qi 아세아·태평양축산학회 2017 Animal Bioscience Vol.30 No.3

Objective: This study was conducted to evaluate the effects of dietary protein sources (soybean meal, SBM; low-gossypol cottonseed meal, LCSM; double-zero rapeseed meal, DRM) on laying performance, egg quality, and plasma parameters of laying hens. Methods: A total of 432 32-wk-old laying hens were randomly divided into 6 treatments with 6 replicates of 12 birds each. The birds were fed diets containing SBM, LCSM100, or DRM100 individually or in combination with an equal amount of crude protein (CP) (LCSM50, DRM50, and LCSM50-DRM50). The experimental diets, which were isocaloric (metabolizable energy, 11.11 MJ/kg) and isonitrogenous (CP, 16.5%), had similar digestible amino acid profile. The feeding trial lasted 12 weeks. Results: The daily egg mass was decreased in the LCSM100 and LCSM50-DRM50 groups (p<0.05) in weeks 41 to 44. The LCSM50 group did not affect egg production compared to the SBM group in weeks 41 to 44 (p>0.05) and showed increased yolk color at the end of the trial (p<0.05). Compared to the SBM group, the LCSM100 and LCSM50-DRM50 groups showed decreased albumen weight (p<0.05), CP weight in the albumen (p<0.05) and CP weight in the whole egg (p<0.05) at 44 weeks. Plasma total protein (TP) levels were lower in the LCSM100 group than in the SBM group at 44 weeks (p<0.05); however, TP, albumin, and globulin levels were not significantly different between the LCSM50 group and the SBM group or between the DRM50 group and the SBM group (p>0.05). Conclusion: Together, our results suggest that the LCSM100 or DRM100 diets may produce the adverse effects on laying performance and egg quality after feeding for 8 more weeks. The 100.0 g/kg LCSM diet or the148.7 g/kg DRM diet has no adverse effects on laying performance and egg quality.

Research Progress in SiC-Based Ceramic Matrix Composites

        Shaoming Dong,Zhen Wang,Haijun Zhou,Yan-Mei Kan,Xiangyu Zhang,Yusheng Ding,Le Gao,Bin Wu,Jianbao Hu 한국세라믹학회 2012 한국세라믹학회지 Vol.49 No.4

SiC-based ceramic matrix composites show many advantages over their monolithic ceramic counterparts, which makes them potential candidates for applications in various fields. Depending strongly on the chemical composition and microstructure of the fiber reinforcement, matrix as well as the fiber/matrix interphase in the material, the properties of ceramic matrix composites(CMCs) are highly tailorable. In this paper, the latest progresses in the interphase design, matrix modification and fiber reinforcement decoration of CMCs are reviewed, their effects on the properties of the CMCs are introduced.

      • Arginine, leucine, and glutamine stimulate proliferation of porcine trophectoderm cells through the MTOR-RPS6K-RPS6-EIF4EBP1 signal transduction pathway.

        Kim, Jinyoung,Song, Gwonhwa,Wu, Guoyao,Gao, Haijun,Johnson, Gregory A,Bazer, Fuller W Society for the Study of Reproduction [etc.] 2013 BIOLOGY OF REPRODUCTION Vol.88 No.5

During the peri-implantation and early placentation periods in pigs, conceptuses (embryo and its extra-embryonic membranes) undergo dramatic morphological changes and differentiation that require the exchange of nutrients (histotroph) and gasses across the trophectoderm and a true epitheliochorial placenta. Of these nutrients, arginine (Arg), leucine (Leu), and glutamine (Gln) are essential components of histotroph; however, little is known about changes in their total amounts in the uterine lumen of cyclic and pregnant gilts and their effects on cell signaling cascades. Therefore, we determined quantities of Arg, Leu, and Gln in uterine luminal fluids and found that total recoverable amounts of these amino acids increased in pregnant but not cyclic gilts between Days 12 and 15 after onset of estrus. We hypothesized that Arg, Leu, and Gln have differential effects on hypertrophy, hyperplasia, and differentiated functions of trophectoderm cells that are critical to conceptus development. Primary porcine trophectoderm (pTr) cells treated with either Arg, Leu, or Gln had increased abundance of phosphorylated RPS6K, RPS6, and EIF4EBP1 compared to basal levels, and this effect was maintained for up to 120 min. When pTr cells were treated with Arg, Leu, and Gln, low levels of pRPS6K and pEIF4EBP1 were detected in the cytosol, but the abundance of nuclear pRPS6K increased. Immunofluorescence analyses revealed abundant amounts of pRPS6 protein in the cytoplasm of pTr cells treated with Arg, Leu, and Gln. These amino acids also increased proliferation of pTr cells. Furthermore, when Arg, Leu, and Gln were combined with siRNAs for either MTOR, RPTOR, or RICTOR, effects of those amino acids on proliferation of pTr cells were significantly inhibited. Collectively, these results indicate that Arg, Leu, and Gln act coordinately to stimulate proliferation of pTr cells through activation of the MTOR-RPS6K-RPS6-EIF4EBP1 signal transduction pathway.
