        It has been well known that the failure of the trabeculectomy is associated with the migration and proliferation of the fibroblast at the fistula site, which may be influenced by the aqueous humor. It is not clear whether the aqueous humor nas growth factor or inhibitory factor. This experiment was designed to elucidate the effect of the aqueous humor on the conjunctiva in rabbit. The aqueous humor was injected into the subconjunctival area in the rabbit, twice weekly upto for 1 minth. In addition, the autologous conjunctival tissue was implanted into the anterior chamber of the fellow eye, which was observed for three months. The conjuntiva, which was treated by the aqueous humor in situ and in anterior chamber, was examined with electron microscopy. The conjunctiva, treated with autologous aqueous humor, showed the infiltration of the inflammatory cells and fivrin in the substantia propria. These findings may be affected by the disruption of the blood-aqueous barrier or chemoattractant activity of the aqueous humor. The conjunctiva, implanted into the anterior chamber, disappeared with fragmentation or was shrinked in appearance. The conjunctival epithelial cells showed the degeneration with widened intercellular space, slightly protruded villous projection into intercellular space and separation of desmosome between adjacent cells. The substantia propria was well preserved with both the endothelial and pericyte cell uninterruptedly lined with basement membrane. The widened intercellular space and slightly projected villous projection may be influenced by the growth activity in the aqueous humor. However, the inhibitory activity in the aqueous humor may contributetothe degeneration in teh superficial epithelium and no further growth of the conjuntival tissue. These fundings may be summed up by the growth activity of the plasmoid aqueous by disruption of blood-aqueous barrier following surgical manipulation and by inhibitory activity in stabilized aqueous humor. The influence of aqueous homor on the cytologic or histologic pattern will depend on the biochemical components of the aqueous humor.

        Residual, Unresectable and Recurrent REctal Cancer

        가톨릭 의과대학 강남성모병원 방사선치료실에서는 1983년 4월부터 1987년 12월까지 4년 8개월 동안에 국소 재발성 또는 진행된 직장암환자 46예의 외부 방사선 치료를 실시하였다. 방사선 치료는 6MV선행가속기를 사용하였으며 전후 2대문조사 및 4문조사를 혼합 사용하였고, 매일 160~180 cGy씩 주 5회 분할조사하여 총 4,500~6,000rad/5~7주를 시도하였다. 필요시는 수술창 및 회음부에 격일로 Bolus를 사용하여 다음과 같은 결과를 얻었기에 보고하는 바이다. 1. 총 46명중 남자 25명, 여자는 21명이었고, 연령 분포는 22세부터 79세까지 였다.(중앙연령 : 54세) 2. 수술후 재발된 직장암이 28예였고, 수술 불가능한 경우가 18예 였다. 3. 재발된 예 28명에서 Astler-Coller's Modification of Duke's Method 분류상 C2가 20명이었는데 그중 12명이 수술후 12개월내에 재발하였다. B1 병기에서는 24개월내 재발할 예는 전혀 없었다. 4. 방사선 치료에 대한 반응으로 통증을 주소로 했던 30명중 22명(73%)에서 종괴를 주소로 한 14명중 12명(86%)에서, 출혈을 주소로 한 22명 중 17명(77%)에서 각각 반응을 보였다. 5. 합병증은 건성 쪼는 습성 피부탈락과 홍반성 색소침착, 요도-방광염이 61%, 35%, 17%에서 각각 관찰되었고, 2예에서는 수술을 요하는 장유착이 있었다. 6. 수술후 2년과 3년 생존율은 각각 43%, 22%였고, 방사선 치료 후 2년 생존율은 13%였다. Fifty patients with residual, unresectable or recurrent rectal cancer were treated with external irradiation using a 6-MV linear accelerator at the Division of Therapeutic Radiology, Department of Radiology, Kangnam St. Mary's Hospital, Catholic Unicersity Medical College during the period of April 1983 to December 1987. This paper describes the results of a retrospective analysis of the results of external irradiation for the residual, unresectable and recurrent rectal cancer in 46 patients. Four patients were lost to follow-up. Of the 46 patients, 18(39%) presented with unresectable primary lesions and 28 (61%) with residual or recurrent rectal cancer. In 93%, the pathologic diagnosis was adenocarcinoma. Resonse to irradiation was observed in 22(73%) out of 30 patients who were treated for pain, 12 (86%) out of 14 patients who were treated for mass, and 17 (77%) out of 22 patients who were treated for bloody discharge. The actuarial postoperative 2-year and 3-year survival rates in recurrent and unresectable patients were 43% and 22%, respectively. However, the post-RT 2-year survival rate was 13% (6/46).

        군용 무인기 체계 연동 상호 운용성 최신화를 위한 STANAG-4586 기반 무인기 표준화 적용 방안

        With the development of various types of military Unmanned Aircraft(UA)s, the need for interworking and integration between different platforms gradually increased. In order to ensure interoperability at each military UA System(UAS) level, North Atlantic Treaty Organization(NATO) has established STANAG-4586 "Standard Interfaces of Unmanned Aircraft(UA) Control Systems(UCS) for NATO UA Interoperability-Interface Control Document". This paper looks at the basic design structure of STANAG-4586 and the changes on Edition 4 to enhance joint operational capability through reflecting and updating the interoperability design of the military UAS. In particular, we analyze the enhanced Datalink Transition/Handover Procedure and Autonomous functions, one of the biggest features added to the edition. Through this, we propose a modification of UA data link exclusive control using UA Bypass structure, which was impossible in the one-to-one communication structure between existing UA and Core UCS(CUCS). We also suggest ways to improve UA operational reliability by applying Autonomous Functions that directly decides how to deal with emergency situations, rather than by a remote operator over CUCS.

        New Seed Detection by Shape Analysis for Construction of Vascular Structures

        Although tracking methods are efficient and popular for vessel segmentation, they require a seed to initiate an instance of tracking. In this paper, a new method to detect new seeds for tracking of arterial segments from CT angiography (CTA) and to construct a vascular structure is proposed. The proposed algorithm is based on shape analysis of connected components in a volume of interest around a vessel segment which was already extracted by tracking. The eigenvalues of the covariance matrix are used as the shape features for detection. The experimental results on actual clinical data showed that the results totally revealed the arterial tree not hindered by bone or veins. In visual comparison to a method which combines registration and subtraction of both pre-contrast and post-contrast CT volumes, the proposed method produced comparable results to the reference method and were confirmed of its feasibility for clinical use of reducing the cost and burden of patients.

        조영 전후의 폐 CT 영상 정합을 위한 특징 기반의 비강체 정합 기법

        In this paper, a feature-based registration technique is proposed for pre-contrast and post-contrast lung CT images. It utilizes three dimensional(3-D) features with their descriptors and estimates feature correspondences by nearest neighborhood matching in the feature space. We design a transformation model between the input image pairs using a free form deformation(FFD) which is based on B-splines. Registration is achieved by minimizing an energy function incorporating the smoothness of FFD and the correspondence information through a non-linear gradient conjugate method. To deal with outliers in feature matching, our energy model integrates a robust estimator which discards outliers effectively by iteratively reducing a radius of confidence in the minimization process. Performance evaluation was carried out in terms of accuracy and efficiency using seven pairs of lung CT images of clinical practice. For a quantitative assessment, a radiologist specialized in thorax manually placed landmarks on each CT image pair. In comparative evaluation to a conventional feature-based registration method, our algorithm showed improved performances in both accuracy and efficiency.

        As mentioned on the previous report about the studies on cholera, trypsin test, hexamine test and phage typing with cholera phage type. IV were added there-after, to confirm the identity of cholera vibrio. From the above test results, no contradictory data were obtained to the conclusion of the first report in which the etiological agent was identified as V. cholerae biotype El tor, serotype ogawa. Hemolysis test and polymyxin B sensitivity test were performed in more detail. On hemolysis test, when Feeley's method, instead of Greig's method, was carried out with 375 strains including two classic' cholera controls and three El for cholera controls, about 55 strains showed hemolysis. Besides these, 2 classic controls showed hemolysis positive. From these data, author suggested the hemolysis test as a poor differentiating method inbetween True and El for cholera. On polymyxin B sensitivity test, author inoculated the strains under test and controls on the media containing polymyxin B serially diluted. Two True cholera strains were inhibited on 4' gamma, whereas two El tor controls and strains under test were resisted even on 100 gamma. It was found the inhibitory range of polymixin B. (between true and El for cholera was) broad enough. And polymyxin B sensitivity test was recommandable as a relatively preferable test method on this occasion.

      • 반복하중을 받는 철근콘크리트 전단벽의 대각보강에 따른 내진성능 평가

        In this dissertation, experimental research was carried out to evaluate the behavior of reinforced concrete slit type shearwall and infilled type shearwall. This study were focused at the reinforced concrete shearwall structure with vertical and horizontal cyclic load simultaneously then all specimens were modeled 1/3 size of original that. The main reinforcement ratio of column and girder was constant, as the hoop bar ratio of column was varied. Eight test specimens were used to investigate the maximum horizontal capacity, shear strength, ductile capacity, and crack patten respectively. Based on the results reported in this study, the following conclusions can be made. For the reinforced concrete slit type shearwall(SWS-O) occured the slippage distinctly in the upper slit region of wall and the shear crack upper region of column for the diagonally reinforcing slit type specimens(SWS-1~3) occured the shear crack in the wall and flexure failure of columns So, reinforced diagonal steel bar in the wall, crack control by slip and diagonal-tension was effective in connection of frame. In slit type shearwall specimens, as the hoop bar ratio of column was increased, in the ductile capacity were not found, but in case of infilled type shearwall specimens, as the hoop bar ratio of column and reinforcement diagonal steel bar were increased, were increased 1.5 times. Shear stress of slit type shearwall specimens(SWS-TYPE), reinforced diagonal steel bar and as the hoop bar ratio of column was increased, were increased 1.49~1.67 times. In case of infilled type shearwall specimens(SWI-TYPE) were increased 1.21~1.38 times. Comparing the maximum experimental shear strength of slit type specimens with the approsimate theoretical value, test results of specimen(SWS-O) was decreased 0.89 times. Specimens(SWS-1~3), reinforced diagonal steel bar in the wall and as the hoop bar ratio of column was increased, were decreased 0.99~1.1 times In case of infilled type specimens(SWI-TYPE) those were decreased 0.75~0.86 times.
