신원집,여정수,김재우,신수길,정진우,이지홍 한국축산학회 1999 한국축산학회지 Vol.41 No.4
This study was conducted to identify the genetic parameters and genetic relationships among 3 cattle breeds of Hanwoo (Korea), Yanbian yellow cattle (China), and Wagyu (Japan). DNA fingerprinting was prepared using M13 probe and Pst 1 enzyme. Genetic homogencities of Hanwoo and Yanbian yellow cattle were comparatively lower than that of Wagyu, suggesting genetic improvement by active breeding program for Wagyu compared to Hanwoo and Yanbian yellow cattle and possibility of improvement capacity for Hanwoo and Yanbian yellow cattle. Genetic similarities between breeds were not significantly different among them, suggesting that these 3 breeds have been raised independently without any inflow or outflow of gene source for a while.

11 beta-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase type 1 (11 beta-HSD1) is associated with metabolic syndromes such as type 2 diabetes mellitus and obesity. A new 11 beta-HSD1 inhibitor known as 2-(3-benzoyl)-4-hydroxy-1, 1-dioxo-2H-1, 2-benzothiazine-2-yl-1-phenylethanone (KR-66344) is being developed as a therapeutic agent for these metabolic diseases. The purpose of this study was to characterize the pharmacokinetics of KR-66344 to support further preclinical development. KR-66344 showed high liver microsomal stability with T-1/2 values > 3 h and high permeability with apparent permeability coefficients of 15.2-24.2 x 10(-6) cm/s in Caco-2 cell monolayers. KR-66344 was also strongly bound to plasma proteins (> 98 %). After intravenous dosing, KR-66344 exhibited low systemic clearance (0.27-0.37 L/h/kg) and a low to moderate volume of distribution at steady state (0.79-0.8 L/kg). The bioavailability and terminal half-lives of KR-66344 following oral administration were 25 % and 1.7-3.3 h, respectively. In addition, KR-66344 showed dose-independent pharmacokinetics at 0.5-10 mg/kg in intravenous and oral pharmacokinetic studies.

The South Korea Plateau is a remnant of continental crust in the middle of the eastern Korean margin that was deformed by extension in association with back-arc rifting and separation of the southwestern Japan Arc in the Cenozoic. Multichannel seismic profiles show that the South Korea Plateau preserves structure of rift basins flanked by uplifted footwall blocks. Rift basins in the plateau are filled with distinct syn- and post-rift sequences separated by a prominent breakup unconformity resulting from uplift. The crustal and upper mantle structures computed by ambient noise tomography indicate that the South Korea Plateau defines the seaward limit of rifted continental crust; in addition, rifting occurred with vigorous asthenospheric upwelling induced along the Korean margin and depth-dependent stretching. Therefore, the South Korea Plateau underwent the entire sequence of tectonic events typical of a passive continental margin encompassing rifting with subsidence, uplift, erosion, and breakup prior to the separation of the southwestern Japan Arc. Breakup at the Korean margin may substantiate successive episodes of back-arc spreading which migrated toward the arc in response to trench retreat. We suggest that the southwestern Japan Arc moved to its present location from the southern part of the Korean margin with a significant amount of clockwise rotation during back-arc spreading.
Despite remarkable progress in cutaneous melanoma genomic profiling, the mutational landscape of primary mucosal melanomas (PMM) remains unclear. Forty-six PMMs underwent targeted exome sequencing of 111 cancer-associated genes. Seventy-six somatic nonsynonymous mutations in 42 genes were observed, and recurrent mutations were noted on eight genes, including TP53 (13%), NRAS (13%), SNX31 (9%), NF1 (9%), KIT (7%) and APC (7%). Mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK; 37%), cell cycle (20%) and phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase (PI3K)-mTOR (15%) pathways were frequently mutated. We biologically characterized a novel ZNF767-BRAF fusion found in a vemurafenib-refractory respiratory tract PMM, from which cell line harboring ZNF767-BRAF fusion were established for further molecular analyses. In an independent data set, NFIC-BRAF fusion was identified in an oral PMM case and TMEM178B-BRAF fusion and DGKI-BRAF fusion were identified in two malignant melanomas with a low mutational burden (number of mutation per megabase, 0.8 and 4, respectively). Subsequent analyses revealed that the ZNF767-BRAF fusion protein promotes RAF dimerization and activation of the MAPK pathway. We next tested the in vitro and in vivo efficacy of vemurafenib, trametinib, BKM120 or LEE011 alone and in combination. Trametinib effectively inhibited tumor cell growth in vitro, but the combination of trametinib and BKM120 or LEE011 yielded more than additive anti-tumor effects both in vitro and in vivo in a melanoma cells harboring the BRAF fusion. In conclusion, BRAF fusions define a new molecular subset of PMM that can be targeted therapeutically by the combination of a MEK inhibitor with PI3K or cyclin-dependent kinase 4/ 6 inhibitors.

This paper is based on the 9 goat colonies along the middle and lower Yellow River valley and 7 local goat colonies in the Northeast, Tibet and the Yangtze valley. After collecting the same data about the 22 goat colonies in China and other countries, it establishes and composes the matrix of fuzzy similarity relation describing the genetic similarities of different colonies. It also clusters 38 colonies according to their phylogenetic relationship. The establishment of the matrix and the cluster are effected in terms of the frequency of 18 loci and 43 allelomorphs in blood enzyme and other protein variations. The study proves that the middle Yellow River valley is one of the taming and disseminating centers of domestic goats in the South and East of Central Asia. Compared with other goat populations in this vast area, the native goat populations in the west of Mongolian Plateau, the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau and the middle Yellow River valley share the same origin. The colonies in the lower Yellow River valley and those in the middle valley, however, are relatively remote in their phylogenetic relationship. The native goat colonies in the southeast of Central Asia can be classified into two genetic groups: "East Asia" and "South Asia" and the colonies in Southeast Asia belong to either group.
Evaluation of Ni Film Interfacial Energy Release Rate on Titanium and Stainless Steel Substrates
Ren, F. Z.,Zhao, W. Z.,Zhou, G. S.,Ju, X. H.,Zheng, M. 대한금속학회 2002 METALS AND MATERIALS International Vol.8 No.2
An expression including the effect of residual stress on the interfacial energy release rate is proposed for peeling experiments according to the energy-balance argument. The influence of residual stress on the external work is also contained in the expression. Two numerical methods are employed to evaluate the values of the work expenditure G_db, which is the actual energy dissipated during bending of the peel arm near the peel front. The peeling method is employed to test the interfacial energy release rates, G, for Ni films on Titanium and stainless steel substrates. The results indicate that the value of G for Ni films on stainless steel substrate is about 5.47-6.03 N/m, while 5.23-6.71 N/m for Ni films on titanium substrate; the interfacial energy release rates, G, do not depend on the residual stress in film, film thickness nor peel angle. The effect of residual stress in film on peel strength P/h is also discussed.

Wurtzite nitrogen-doped MgZnO (MgZnO:N) films were grown on c-plane sapphire by using plasma-assisted molecular beam epitaxy with radical NO as the oxygen source and nitrogen dopant. P-type conduction of MgZnO:N was obtained by decreasing the donor defects ((N2)O, VO, etc.) through annealing, revealing a hole concentration of 6.1 × 1017 cm−3 and a mobility of 6.42 cm2/Vs. Furthermore, as-grown p-type films with a hole concentration of 1 × 1017 cm−3 and a mobility of 3 cm2/Vs were obtained by decreasing the (N2)O double donor defect through control of the plasma conditions. ZnMgO:N/ZnO p-n junctions were obtained by using these p-type films. ode-like, rectifying I-V characteristics with a threshold voltage of about 5 V and a different reverse leakage current were observed at room temperature.

Abstract
The current trends in stimulated Brillouin scattering and optical phase conjugation are overviewed. This report is formed by the selected papers presented in the “Fifth International Workshop on stimulated Brillouin scattering and phase conjugation 2010” in Japan. The nonlinear properties of phase conjugation based on stimulated Brillouin scattering and photo-refraction can compensate phase distortions in the high power laser systems, and they will also open up potentially novel laser technologies, e.g., phase stabilization, beam combination, pulse compression, ultrafast pulse shaping, and arbitrary waveform generation.

Multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) exhibited distinct electrical stretching behavior in nematic liquid crystals (NLC) depending on nanotube surface state. We found that two different samples prepared by chemical functionalization (f-CNT) and physical grinding (g-CNT) revealed distinct field dependence from each other. The threshold stretching field was lower in the f-CNT aggregates than in g-CNT aggregates. This was attributed to polar functionality induced weakened van der Waals interaction in f-CNTs, which was confirmed in infrared (IR) and Raman spectroscopy. Dynamic reorientation of f-CNTs was observed under polarized optical microscopy where f-CNTs were found to follow orientation of NLC director. Uniformly aligned f-CNTs also exhibited selective light absorption in sufficiently long transient field off-state which could find potential applications in memory and modulator devices as well as the versatile functional composites.
