Abnormalities of structure and morphology of chromosomes concentrated with genetic materials, DNA, are directly related to phenotypical performances of animals. So, cytogenetical research in domestic animals is important to prevent congenital deformity and improve genetic performances. Especially utilities of egg transfer technique combined with cytogenetical study can be accelerated by the wide spread of the best genetic sources dependent on the micromanipulation and sexing of eggs.

In order to identify the genetic characteristics of the Korean Native Chicken compared with imported chicken, chromosomal size and morphological features were analyzed and results obtained are summarized as follows : 1. Unique colour pattern grey-brown among four types of the Korean Native Chicken was pedigreed genetically. 2. Relative length to total chromosome length of the Korean Native Chicken was detected significantly shorter in long arm of # 1 and longer in #3 than imported breed Leghorn. 3. Chromosome # 2 of the Korean Native Chicken was found significantly higher in arm ratio and lower in centromeric index than the Leghorn breed.

The results of DNA fingerprintings used Mo-1/Haelll and M13/Haelll in Korean Native Chicken, divided two groups between high and low of body weight, e麗 weight, and e麗 Production were as follows: · Variable polymorphism of DNA fragments and several DNA markers between high and low performances(body weight, egg weight, and egg Production) were identified. · High performance group showed higher estimation of 35 than low performance group · Possibility of DNA fingerprinting used Mo-1/Haelll and M13/Haelll in order to genetic improvement in Korean Native Chicken was observed.

In order to induce the diploid gamete(ovum) under suppression of meiosis in oogenesis for production of polyploid chicken. this experiment checked meiosis time. through regular ovulation and response of inhibitor (Tri-ethylen Melamine) to meiosis. The results obtained was follows; *Meiosis of oogenesis was 2-4 hours before ovulation. *Response of inhibitor to meiosis was effective at 0.3mg triethylen melamine per kg body weight. *Fertility was highly decreased by influence from inhibitor. *66% of fertilized eggs was triploid(3n) through fertilization induced diploid ovum (2n) with normal sperm(n). 백색 Leghorn 암탉의 난자생성과정 중 감수분열을 억제하여 2배수성 난자(2n)의 생산에 근거한 다배교성 가축생산과 능력개양의 기초연구인 본 실험에서 감수분열시기는 배난 전 2~4시간이고 이때에 체중 kg당 0.3mg의 TEM(Tri ethylene melamin)을 복강에 주입하여 수정율 38%의 계란을 얻었고 이들 중 66%가 TEM의 영향으로 2n 의 난자가 생성되어 정상정자와의 결합으로 3배수성(3n)의 배아로 나타났다.

For the production of tetraploid embryos in chicken through induction of diploid gametes. The experiment was found results as follows; 1. Induction of diploid sperm was observed 11% from embryos of normal females and males at 12 days after injection of 0.37mg per 2kg body weight for three days. 2. 3 among 109 embryos from crosses of diploid gametes induced by TEM were found as tetraploid. 3. Genetic structures of tetraploid embryos were indentified as normal 4 pairs chromosomes without certain variation. 닭에서 2배수성 배우자(gametes)의 생성을 통해서 4배수성 태아 생산을 위한 본 실험의 결과는 다음과 같다. 1. 2배수성 정자생산 TEM(Tri -ethyleneme-lamine) 0.37mg을 연속 3일 주사한 후 9일째(최초 TEM처리 후 12일째)에 11%로 가장 높았다. 2. 2배수성 배우자를 유도한 후 수정을 통하여 109개의 수정난 중 4배수성 태아를 3개(2.8%) 관찰할 수 있었다. 3. 4배수성 개체의 유전구조는 정상구조에서 변화가 없이 동일한 염색체가 4장으로 구성된 형태였다.
