        Purposes :The purposes of this study was to investigate the self-managing status according to the life styles and the diabetic knowledge of early adulthood. The subjects in this study were 240people, the early adult aged twenties to thirties living in the metropolitan area. Data were collected by using self-administered questionnaires that measure about the knowledge of diabetes; the dietetic behavior; the knowledge of diet; the exercise behavior; the knowledge of exercise. Descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, and correlation were used for data analysis. Result :1. At the knowledge of diabetes degree based on the general character, the subjects who had experiences of diabetic education have higher degree of the diabetic knowledge. 2. At the knowledge of diabetes degree according to the life style, the subjects who have regular diet are appeared highly. Also the subjects who don't take much food of animal origin have higher degree. 3. At the knowledge of diet based on the life style, the subjects who don't keep three times meals a day are appeared highly. Also the subjects who have regular diet have higher degree. 4. At the knowledge of exercise according to the life style, the subjects who take extra nutritions 3-4 times a week are appeared highly. Although the subjects tend to know about dietary, exercise and health management, it showed that they actually don't perform what they know in their everyday of life. The reason for this could be the lack of perceived seriousness about diabetes mellitus. Thus as nursing professionals, we should provide them proper health education and support. Moreover, advanced research on the empowerment is warranted.

        Onset of Magnetic Order in U2(Ni1−xFex)2Sn-H

        We present specific heat and magnetic studies as a function of temperature and magnetic field for U2(Ni1−xFex)2Sn alloys (x = 0.0, 0.05, 0.1, 0.15, 0.2, 0.4, 0.6 and 0.8) and their hydrides (absorption of ≈ 2 H/f.u.). For the parent alloys, antiferromagnetic order is rapidly suppressed with increasing Fe concentration and non-Fermi-liquid behavior was found for x = 0.2. Hydrogenation of the parent alloys causes a substantial increase of TN in Fe-low hydrides (x < 0.2), while Fe-rich hydrides show an unexpected appearance of ferromagnetism in the range 0.4 ≤ x ≤ 0.8. Some of the findings are compared with similar studies in U2Co2Sn and U2Co2InH1.9.

        As high Tc superconductor is developed recently, the effect of electrode on the dielectric breakdown characteristics of liquid N₂is studied in the thesis. The polarity effect of liquid N₂depends on the electrode distance. In a short qap, the breakdown voltage is highest for uniform field and becomes lower for positive needle and lowest for negative needle. In a long gap, however, The order is reversed. From the results it may be concluded that the breakdown mechanism of liquid N₂is the positive streamer breakdown for positive needle and the bubble breakdown for negative needle. This conclusion can be supported from several other experiments concerning conditioning effect, pressure dependence, and so on. In the design of cryogenic insulation it is recommented to coat an electrode with insulating material (SiO₂)and to use commercial liquid N₂rather than highly purified liquid N₂coolant and insulating material. But low breakdown voltage of cryogenic gas N₂requires caution in the design.

        Chemical synthesis of Nd2Fe14B hard phase magnetic nanoparticles with an enhanced coercivity value: effect of CaH2 amount on the magnetic properties

        <P>Nd2Fe14B hard phase magnetic nanoparticles were successfully synthesized using a chemical synthesis route followed by a reduction and diffusion process without consuming a large amount of energy. Nd(acac)(3)center dot xH(2)O, Fe(acac)(3) and (C2H5)(3)NBH3 were used as precursors and CaH2 was used as a reducing agent for the reduction and diffusion process. The crystal structure and composition of the resultant Nd-Fe-B nanoparticles were determined using X-ray diffraction (XRD) and energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX) measurements. The overall morphology and magnetic properties of the final products were investigated using transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and vibrating sample magnetometry (VSM) at 300 K. The effect of the relative quantity of CaH2 on the magnetic properties of the final products was studied in detail with different weight ratios of CaH2 to the preliminary reduced metal oxide powders, using high resolution TEM (HRTEM), XRD and VSM measurements. The different mechanisms of the reduction and diffusion process with different amounts of CaH2 were comparatively studied. An insufficient amount of CaH2 resulted in the presence of residual unreduced metal oxide powders, decreasing the magnetic coercivity. On the other hand, an excessive amount of CaH2 caused H-2 gas to be evolved during the washing process with water, resulting in hydrogenation of the Nd2Fe14B to produce Nd2Fe14BHx. The relative amount of CaH2 had a critical effect on the magnetic properties of the prepared Nd2Fe14B-nanoparticles.</P>

        Non-fragile observer-based H<sub>~</sub> control for stochastic time-delay systems

        <P>This paper considers the problem of non-fragile observer-based H-infinity control for stochastic time-delay systems. The controller and observer to be designed are assumed to have norm-bounded gain perturbations. By choosing an appropriate Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional and introducing a slack matrix variable, a less conservative delay-dependent condition of exponential stability in mean square is presented in the form of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). A stochastic bounded real lemma is then established. On the basis of this, a new LMI-based approach is developed for designing non-fragile observer-based H-infinity controllers without imposing any constraints on the system matrices. Finally, two numerical examples are provided to demonstrate the effectiveness and reduced conservatism of the proposed design approach. (C) 2016 Elsevier Inc. All rights reserved.</P>

      • TRANSPORT OF SOLAR WIND H <sup>+</sup> AND He <sup>++</sup> IONS ACROSS EARTH’S BOW SHOCK

        <P>We have investigated the dependence of mass, energy, and charge of solar wind ( SW) transport across Earth's bow shock. An examination of 111 crossings during quiet SW in both quasi-perpendicular and quasi-parallel shock regions shows that 64 crossings had various degrees of heating and thermalization of SW. We found 22 crossings where the SW speed was <400 km s(-1). The shock potential of a typical supercritical quasi-perpendicular shock estimated from deceleration of the SW and cutoff energy of electron flat top distribution is similar to 50 Volts. We find that the temperatures of H+ and He++ beams that penetrate the shock can sometimes be nearly the same in the upstream and downstream regions, indicating little or no heating had occurred crossing the bow shock. None of the models predict that the SW can cross the bow shock without heating. Our observations are important constraints for new models of collisionless shocks.</P>

      • Deconvolution of Four Transmission-Line-Model Impedances in Ni-YSZ/YSZ/LSM Solid Oxide Cells and Mechanistic Insights

        Four impedance components with the two respectively from the cathode and anode have been successfully deconvoluted for the temperature range between 800<SUP>o</SUP>C and 600<SUP>o</SUP>C of cermet-supported (H<SUB>2</SUB>,H<SUB>2</SUB>O)Ni-YSZ/YSZ/LSM-YSZ(O<SUB>2</SUB>,N<SUB>2</SUB>) solid oxide fuel cells with high quality 5μm thin YSZ electrolyte layers with two different pore former contents of 10 and 20wt%. A Bisquert transmission line model in an ideal three-parameter equation was successfully applied for the electrochemical reactions for both Ni-YSZ and LSM-YSZ electrodes. Non-faradaic chemical reaction mechanism provided the hydrogen dissociation surface reaction energy of 0.58eV with adsorption capacitance activated with 0.4~0.5eV in Ni-YSZ electrodes directly by impedance spectroscopy. Much higher adsorption capacitance of LSM-YSZ electrode explains the lower frequency response and may explain strongly activated kinetic parameters. The surface diffusivity is effectively enhanced by the YSZ network in the composite electrodes. Gas concentration impedance of Ni-YSZ cermets described by ideal Gerischer model is largely responsible for the performance under light current load condition at high temperature and the higher porosity led to lower resistance but to higher capacitance. Gas concentration polarization may also appear diffusion-reaction co-limited and thinner LSM-YSZ electrode layer exhibits the higher capacitance than the thicker cermet support by two orders of magnitude.

        냉수처치가 흰쥐의 화상조직에 미치는 영향

        Lewis(1930) & Langohr (1949) suggested that cold water therapy (CWT) reduces tissue metabolism, oxygen debt and dilates minute vessels, therefore increasing blood flow, on the burned tissue in rats. So this method diminishes tissue damage due to impaired circulation and may retard the development of infection. These experiments were performed to study the effects of CWT on the burned tissue in rats. Full thickness scald burns(‘80c’10sec)were inflicted on the backs of the 42 rats. Burned rats were divided into 2 groups: 27 rate as an experimental group (immediate and delayed CWT) and 15 rats as an untreated control. The untreated control was sacrificed on the 1/2th, 1st, 8th, 24th and 72th hour after burn. Immediate CWT group was immersed immediately into the cold water (1-2℃, 10min) after burn and sacrificed as same as the time of untreated control. Delayed CWT group was burned and CWT was performed after 5 min, 10min and 30 min delay. They were sacrificed on the 24th hour after burn. The specimens taken from all experimental animals were fixed in 10% neutral formalin embedded in paraffin wax, sectioned at a thickness of 5um, and stained with hematoxylineosin for general histologic findings. Observation was made of morphological changes in the collagen fibers, capillaries and separations between collagen fibers located in the skin of rats. The results were as follows: 1. The tissue injury of immediate CWT group was less severe than untreated control. 2. The more CWT is delayed, the more tissue injury is aggravated. So immediate CWT is the most effective modality in the CWT of bumed tissue.

        Use of Thixoforming as a Manufacturing Method for Metallic Composites

        Thixoforming is one of the members of the family of semi-solid forming processes. It is possible to obtain complex shapeof materials by this method and unconventional microstructures can be achieved due to its thixotropic properties. However,in this study thixoforming was used not only as forming method but also as a manufacturing method. Metallic compositeswere manufactured by a process of integration of powder metallurgy and semi-solid production technique. The mixture ofCo72.5B15Si12.5alloy and Fe powders become partially melted, compressed mechanically in semi-solid state and filled intricatecavities. Without changing alloy structure, it could be possible to reinforce it with Fe powders. Moreover, the final shapeof the product could be achieved at the same time. Prior to the process, Co72.5B15Si12.5alloy obtained in the form of stickwas characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy–energy dispersive spectroscopy (SEM–EDX),differential thermal analysis-thermogravimetry (DTA-TG), light microscope and micro-hardness machine. The stick wasmilled to get alloy powders and they were blended with iron. Characterization of the structures of the composite materialwas performed. It was concluded that the heating process of iron and alloy powders provides the formation of compact metalmatrix composites.
