        Thread is the basic unit of execution. It is the smallest object of work, and runs in the context of a task. We describe a model for multi-thread of control within a single UNIX process. The main goals are to provide extremely lightweight threads and to rationalize and extend the UNIX Application Programming Interface for a multi-threaded environment. The threads are intended to be sufficiently lightweight so that there can be thousands present and that synchronization and context switching can be accomplished rapidly without entering the kernel. These goals are achieved by providing lightweight user-level threads that are multiplexed on top of kernel-supported threads of control. The Multi-thread method using threads can do the effective parallel processing on not only multi-processor system but also single processor system and is described as a essential element to overcome the functional limit of traditional UNIX system. In this paper, We describe a concept and behavior of multi-thread, propose the multi-thread management architecture, and add lightweight thread interface between user-level thread and kernel in Mach.

        An extremely rare case of primary melanoma involving only rectum is reported. This 59 year-old male patient was admitted to the hospital because of hematochezia, difficulty of defection. Endoscopic examination and radical excision showed polypoid lesion with ulceration which measured 6x6x3cm in 2cm from the anal verge. Histopathologic, H&E stain and electron microscopic examination(EM) were performed from endoscopic biopsies and excisional mass. We are reporting a case primary rectal melanoma with brief review of literature.

      • GaAs 및 InP에서의 photoreflectance 특성 연구

        We investigated photoreflectance(PR) characterization of the Ⅲ-V group compound semiconductors with respect to modulation sources, those are, measured temperature and furnace annealing effect(FAE) of each sample. The band gap(??), broadening parameter(?), and dimensional number(n) of the critical point model by means of the band-to band transition were fitted by least-sqare root method for Aspnes' theoretical equation, and determined from the observed Franz-Keldysh oscillation(FKO). In particular, the Varshni equation and Bose-Einstein expression have been compared with the experimental results. After the thermal annealing, the crystallinity and the type conversion of each sample are observed and discussed.

        증기 터빈 동익 재료인 12Cr 강의 화염표면 처리에 의한 열 이력 제어 및 경화 특성에 관한 연구

        Low carbon 12Cr steel used as a nuclear steam turbine blade material have been surface-modified by the flame hardening process and the properties of hardness, hardening depth, and residual stress have been studied. For this, the thermal cycles of 12Cr steel have been controlled precisely as a function of the surface temperature, the exposed height from the water surface, and the cooling rate. The application of flame hardening increases the hardness of 12Cr steel (base value, 250 HV) to 420~550 HV considerably, forming relatively sharp hardening boundaries. Both the hardening depth and the austenitization period are linearly correlated well within the range of processing conditions employed. The rapid cooling rate also increases the hardening depth as well as the surface hardness. The properties of residual stress are discussed in terms of contributions of both the thermal and transformation stress components. The optimum processing conditions for the desirable residual stress state in the material are as follows : less than 1200℃ for the 18 mm-exposed and less than 1150℃ for full-exposed conditions by the criteria of Siemens AG-KWU, and on the basis of the specification of GE Power Generation Engineering, 944~1050℃ for the 10 mm-exposed, 883~1150℃ for the 14 mm-exposed, 833~1134℃ for the 18 mm-exposed, and 785~1097℃ for the full-exposed.

        천문과학관 프로그램에 반영된 과학교육과정의 분석

        이 연구는 과학 교육과정 중 천문관련 단원의 내용과 천문과학관의 전시내용을 비교 분석하여 천문과학관이 교육과정의 내용과 목표를 얼마나 잘 반영하고 있는지 알아보는데 목적이 있다. 연구 대상은 국내 천문과학관 5곳으로 천문과학관 프로그램 평가도구를 사용하여 프로그램 내용을 평가하고 프로그램 형태를 조사하여 분석하였다. 이 때 사용된 평가도구는 교육부(1997)에서 고시한 과학교육과정 내용과 교육과정 평가원(2000)에서 제시한 성취기준 및 평가기준을 근거로 고안하였다. 이 연구의 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 천문과학관에서는 과학 교육과정 내용 중 천문관련 학습요소를 대부분 반영하고 있었다. 이는 천문과학관이 비형식 교육 기관으로서 학교 과학 교육과 비교적 잘 연계되고 있음을 보여준다. 교육과정 반영비율은 5학년이 가장 높으며, 전시 형태는 패널 형태가 가장 많았다. 평가점수는 반영비율에 비하여 낮았는데 이는 향후 천문과학관의 프로그램을 선정함에 있어 과학 교육과정을 더 충실히 반영하여야 함을 알 수 있다. The purpose of this study is to investigate how much the programs of astronomy museums reflect the contents and objectives of current science curriculums. To attain the aim, comparison and analysis on the museum programs and science curriculum have been made. Five domestic astronomy museums have been selected. The contents and forms of their programs have been studied and appreciated by assessment instruments for astronomy museum programs. The assessment instruments were devised in consideration of both the science curriculums of the Ministry of Education(1997) and the achievement and evaluation criteria of the Korea Institute of Curriculum and Evaluation. The findings of this study are summarized as follows: The astronomy museums reflect most of the learning elements of science curricula concerning astronomy. These results indicate that the astronomy museum as an informal education institute is comparatively well connected to science education. The 5th grade science curriculum reflected mostly on the museum programs, and too many of the astronomy museum programs were in forms of panel exhibition. Science curricula fared well but they failed to reflect the curricular objectives, which resulted m relatively low assessment scores. It is suggested that the findings of this study can be a foundation and act as guidance for selecting and developing astronomy museum programs which include the contents of the science curriculums more substantially.

        The purpose of this study, the local restaurants in gimcheon ceo and chef, traditional food to target residents identify overall against the recognition. This can represent an area based on regional food ways that can be commercialized. To this end the following measures are presented. First, gimcheon should enable the local restaurants of gimcheon ways in. The most important element of the restaurant just because the food tastes of tourists coming to the area a special flavor with local restaurants, and local attractions that can represent the area restaurants. Second, the grapes and plum Festival, gimcheon related practice enabled the food. Many people are new to the topic of food. Food festival, cultural experience and to provide a place for locals to be able to inform the food culture festival. Third, representing agricultural and speciality by developing water-assisted traditional processed food merchandising. Gimcheon is being produced in a prime agricultural and specialities and distinctive flavors and seasonings in the sauce can do the products sales outlook is very bright with a judgment. Fourth, the flavor are willing provide food through the map and tourist information. On a map, the taste itself makes cooperating and of food-related at the level of the Association can represent the different forms and areas of gimcheon theme will yield vigorously. These effects in gimcheon of tourists and local economic development and tourist visits are expected to have increased.

        12Cr 강의 화염경화 표면처리 층의 초음속 물방울 충격에 의한 손상 거동

        Water drop impact erosion properties of the 12Cr steel, currently used as nuclear steam turbine blade material, surface-hardened by the flame hardening process have been characterized. For this, variations of both the maximum erosion depth de,,,,ax and volume loss V with the cumulative impacts n at the supersonic impact velocity (~350 m/s) have been investigated for the as-received and flame-hardened 12Cr steels with different hardnesses. Typically all the samples showed an erosion-time characteristic involving the incubation period initially followed by the steady state period. It is also found that the d_(e,max) increases stepwise-like with the number of impacts n, which results from a sudden formation of craters by crack propagation. Compared to those for the as-received 12Cr steel, the flame-hardened ones showed an excellent resistance to water drop impact erosion with 2.2~2.8 times higher incubation time n, and 115~1/8 times lower erosion rate a. In the incubation period the as-received 12Cr steel was damaged by ductile depression and ploughing, while the flame-hardened 12Cr steel by fatigue cracks and brittle platelet deformation. Erosion in the steady state period was developed by the cleavage fracture commonly. (Received July 22, 2004)

        Spontaneous retroperitoneal hemorrhage due to hemophilia A with impaired coagulopathy is very rare. Spontaneous retroperitoneal hemorrhage has been recorded as having originated from many retroperitoneal organs and blood vessels, and it may be due to local and/or systemic factors. In the majority of the patients, kidney and adrenal gland were the major site of hemorrhage. The systemic causes of spontaneous retroperitoneal hemorrhage are anticoagulation therapy and chronic hemodialysis. During the course of these treatments, hemorrhagic complications may occur at many site, including the retroperitoneal space. Blood dyscrasias including leukemia, polycythemia, sickle cell trait and hemophilia have been reported associated with spontaneous retroperitoneal hemorrhage.       • Se/CS₂용액으로 처리한 n-GaAs 표면의 Photoreflectance 특성에 관한 연구

        The surface of of n-GaAs(100) was treated using 1.5㎎/100ml solution of Se/CS₂. The passivation of the surface of this sample was investigated by photoreflectance(PR) experiment. After the surface treatment, the samples were annealed between 300 to 700 ℃ in a N₂atmosphere for 10 min. From the obtained Franz-Keldysh oscillations, we have evaluated the surface electric field(E?) and built-in voltage(V??). The density of surface states(Q??) and surface Fermi level(E??) of n-GaAs treated with CS₂and Se/CS₂solution were determined 1.78 ×10??㎝?? , 1.81×10?㎝? and 0.734 eV, 0.737 eV, respectively. After annealed at 600 ℃, These values were about 45% and 13% smaller than those in unannealed samples. It has found that the passivation of surface occured when the surface of the sample had been treated with Se/CS₂ solution and annealed from 400 to 600 ℃. This is ascribed to effects due to activation of elemental Se on the surface.
