        Heme oxygenase-1 induced by desoxo-narchinol-A attenuated the severity of acute pancreatitis via blockade of neutrophil infiltration

        <P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>Heme oxygenase-1 (HO-1) has an anti-inflammatory action in acute pancreatitis (AP). However, its mechanism of action and natural compounds/drugs to induce HO-1 in pancreas are not well understood. In this study, we investigated the regulatory mechanisms of HO-1 during AP using desoxo-narchinol-A (DN), the natural compound inducing HO-1 in the pancreas. Female C57/BL6 Mice were intraperitoneally injected with supramaximal concentrations of cerulein (50 μg/kg) hourly for 6 h to induce AP. DMSO or DN was administered intraperitoneally, then mice were sacrificed 6 h after the final cerulein injection. Administration of DN increased pancreatic HO-1 expression through activation of activating protein-1, mediated by mitogen-activated protein kinases. Furthermore, DN treatment reduced the pancreatic weight-to-body weight ratio as well as production of digestive enzymes and pro-inflammatory cytokines. Inhibition of HO-1 by tin protoporphyrin IX abolished the protective effects of DN on pancreatic damage. Additionally, DN treatment inhibited neutrophil infiltration into the pancreas via regulation of chemokine (C-X-C motif) ligand 2 (CXCL2) by HO-1.       • 초음파 가이드를 통한 맥락막상강출혈의 치료

        Purpose : Intraoperative suprachoroidal hemorrhage is one of the most serious complications. We report a case of suprachoroidal hemorrhage during phacoemulsification surgery, was managed properly. Methods : Suprachoroidal hemorrhage occurred during phacoemulsificaiton in other hospital. The patient was referred to our department immediately after closing the surgical wound. On initial examination, iris and vitreous were prolapsed through surgical wound. Ciliary body was closely place to anterior chamber, and retina was not visible. Results : Prolapased ocular tissue were reduced by emergency operation. We controlled the patient’s intraocular pressure and inflammation. Ultrasonography was repeatedly performed to check the degree of liquefaction of suprachoroidal hemorrhage. After 9 days of suprachoroidal hemorrhage onset, vitrectomy and drainage through sclera was performed. Postoperative state was stable with successful removal of suprachoroidal hemorrhage. After 2 weeks of secondary operation, retinal detachment has occurred on nasal retinal area, so we performed scleral buckling and endolaser photocoagulation. After 6 months, retina was attached well and intraocular pressure was in normal range. Conclusion : In suprachoroidal hemorrhage, drainage of suprachoroidal hemorrhage after liquefaction of thrombi is effective. After successful drainage, postoperative complications may accompany such as retinal detachment or elevation of intraocular pressure. 목적 : 술중 발생하는 맥락막상 출혈은 매우 심각한 합병증이다. 저자는 수정체 유화술 중에 발생한 맥락막상 출혈을 적절히 대처한 증례를 보고하는 바이다. 대상과 방법 : 수정체 유화술 중 발생한 맥락막상강 출혈환자가 수술창을 봉합 후 즉시 본원으로 전원되었다. 초진시 홍채와 유리체가 수술창을 통해 탈출되어 있었으며, 전방을 통해 모양체가 확인되었으나, 망막은 보이지 않았다. 탈출된 안구내 조직을 응급수술을 통해 복원 후 환자의 안압과 염증을 조절하였다. 초음파를 반복적으로 실시하여 맥락막상 출혈의 액화 정도를 확인하였으며, 출혈 9일 후 유리체 절제술과 공막을 통한 배액술을 시행하였다. 결과 : 맥락막상 출혈이 성공적으로 제거되었으며 술 후 상태는 안정적이었다. 수술 2주 후 비측 망막 박리가 발생하여 공막돌륭술과 안구내 삽관 레이저술을 시행하였다. 6개월 후 망막은 잘 붙어있었으며, 안압은 정상 범위를 유지하였다. 결론 : 맥락막상 출혈의 경우 출혈의 배액 시기를 결정하는 것이 어렵지만, 규칙적인 초음파를 통해 배액술의 시기를 결정할 수 있다. 또한 맥락막상강 출혈의 성공적인 배액 이후에도 망막박리 및 안압상승과 같은 합병증의 동반에 대해 유념해야한다.

      • 악성림프종 환자에서 복합화학요법으로 유발된 백혈구 감소증에 대한 인형 재조합 과립구 집락형성-촉진인자(rhG-CSF: Neutrogin)의 효과

        Clinical effects of rhG-CSF were investigated in 17 patients receiving chemotherapy for non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. Patients were given G-CSF 2㎍/㎏/day after 2nd cycle chemotherapy for least 14 consecutive days, and clinical and laboratory results were compared to results of the first cycle. Treatment with G-CSF resulted in increase of mean WBC count(952.9±152.2㎜³vs 1882.4±350.4/㎜³) and neutrophil count(212.9±53.0/㎜³vs 841.5±238.0/㎜³), reduced the duration of leukocytopenic days(12.4±1.3 days vs 5.5±1.0 days, WBC count less than 4000/㎜³) and neutropenic days(4.5±0.9 days vs 2.3±0.7 days, neutrophil count less than 500/㎜³), and reduced the duration of neutropenic fever(5.8±1.1 days vs 0.9±0.5 days). The side effects of G-CSF were not so significant. These results demonstrated that G-CSF is safe and useful for the treatment of neutropenia induced by anticancer chemotherapy of non-Hodgkin's lymphoma and reducing the incidence of febrile periods and duration of antibiotic administration.

        Bross 모형에서 오분류효과에 대해 살펴보았고, 2×2 분할표에서 오분류된 경우 추정과검정에 미치는 영향을 이중표본추출방법을 이용하여 알아 보았다. 예를 통해 오분류를 무시할 경우 독립성 검정을 하는데 있어서 귀무가설을 잘못 기각시키는 결과를 초래한다는 사실을 보였다. We investigated the misclassification effect of the Bross model and researched the impact on the inference by the double sampling in 2×2 contingency tabel with misclassification. For the test of independence, we show that when ignoring the misclassification, the null hypothesis is erroneously rejected.

        In this research, we investigated the KMnOc, consumption rate, pH, and the contents of major anions of the ground water fron Soju-ri, Yangsan(during the last 6 years 1997~2002). In this area, average rainfall during the last 6 years was 1,618.3 mm and a monthly average 134.85 mm. The KMnO₄ consumption rate was 0~3.7 ppm NO₃-N concentration was 1.3~6.5 ppm SO₄ concentration was 10~83 ppm, CI concentration was 4~60 ppm and NH₃-N corcentration was 0~0.05 ppm. Zn, Al, and Ou concentration were 0~0.999, 0~0.17, and 0~0.043 ppm respectively. As Pb, Cd, and Hg were not detected

      • 丹參飮이 實驗動物의 心血管係에 미치는 影響

        The present experiment was desinged to investigate the effects of Dansamyeum water extracts on the Cardivascular System in the Experimental Animals. Thus, the changes of blood pressure and heart rate were measured after oral administration. Measurments of Mortality rate were observed for measuring the effects of Dansamyeum water extract. Dansamyeum water extracts against pulmonary thromboembolism induced by collagen the mixture 90.1㎖/10g, 2㎖/㎏ B.W) plus serotonin(5㎎/㎏ B.W) in mouse. The effect of Dansamyeum water extract was examined by observing the change of collagen-induced platelet aggregation coagulation activity, ex vivo and in vitro fibrinolytic activity of euglobulin fraction in rats. The results were summarized as followings. 1. Dansamyeum dropped the blood pressure in spontaneous hypertensive rat. 2. The drug increased the auricular blood flow in rabbit. 3. The drug relaxed the artery contraction by pretreated norepinephrine in rat. 4. The drug inhibited the death rate of mouse which were led to thromboembolism by serotonin and collagen. 5. The drug inhibited the platelet aggregation in rat. 6. The drug prolonged the prothrombin time and activated partial thromboplastin time on the test of plasma coagulation factor activity in rat, but was not valuable. 7. The drug increased the antithrombin activity in rat and the fibrinogen lyses time was reduced and lyses area was increased. 8. Dansamyeum reduced fibrinogen lyses time of rat in vitro assay. According to the above mentioned results, Dansamyium increased the blood flow and dropped the blood pressure by the dilation of blood vessel. And the drug presented the antithrombin acivity, inhibited the platelet aggregation.

      • 확률화응답기법에 관한 연구

        In a two-stage randomized response procedure, the respondents are selected using simple random sampling with replacement(SRSWR) method. This paper is an extension of this scheme to the situation when respondents are sampled with simple random sampling without replacement(SRSWOR). The proposed two-stage randomized response model is always more efficient than a two-stage randomized response model when the respondents are selected using SRSWR. The conditions when the proposed two-stage randomized response model will be more efficient than the related question model, the forced answer model and Mangat-Singh model have been obtained and the efficiency of the proposed model is also compared with the related question model, the forced answer model and Mangat-Singh model.
