Background : Adenophora triphylla var. japonica (Regel) H. Hara shows vegetative growth by radical leaf until 1 year after sowing and shows reproductive growth during the second year and there is a characteristic of bolting by turning into cauline leaf. In addition, the phenotypes of plants varies even though they are belonging to the same species. For this reason, there is a limit for the classification of the species by the method of visual examination. Methods and Results : Simple sequence repeat (SSR) markers were developed based on the genomic sequence of A. triphylla using next generation sequencing to prepare the basis of molecular breeding and analyze the genetic diversity. Ninety-five primer sets including tri-, tetra- and penta-nucleotide motif types were randomly selected and they were applied to mixed genomic DNA and finally 39 primer sets showing from two to four bands were selected and used for genetic relationship analysis. Conclusions : Using the next generation sequencing, 39 polymorphic SSR markers were developed.
Automatic Segmentation and Radiologic Measurement of Distal Radius Fractures Using Deep Learning

Background: Recently, deep learning techniques have been used in medical imaging studies. We present an algorithm that measures radiologic parameters of distal radius fractures using a deep learning technique and compares the predicted parameters with those measured by an orthopedic hand surgeon. Methods: We collected anteroposterior (AP) and lateral X-ray images of 634 wrists in 624 patients with distal radius fractures treated conservatively with a follow-up of at least 2 months. We allocated 507 AP and 507 lateral images to the training set (80% of the images were used to train the model, and 20% were utilized for validation) and 127 AP and 127 lateral images to the test set. The margins of the radius and ulna were annotated for ground truth, and the scaphoid in the lateral views was annotated in the box configuration to determine the volar side of the images. Radius segmentation was performed using attention U-Net, and the volar/dorsal side was identified using a detection and classification model based on RetinaNet. The proposed algorithm measures the radial inclination, dorsal or volar tilt, and radial height by index axes and points from the segmented radius and ulna. Results: The segmentation model for the radius exhibited an accuracy of 99.98% and a Dice similarity coefficient (DSC) of 98.07% for AP images, and an accuracy of 99.75% and a DSC of 94.84% for lateral images. The segmentation model for the ulna showed an accuracy of 99.84% and a DSC of 96.48%. Based on the comparison of the radial inclinations measured by the algorithm and the manual method, the Pearson correlation coefficient was 0.952, and the intraclass correlation coefficient was 0.975. For dorsal/ volar tilt, the correlation coefficient was 0.940, and the intraclass correlation coefficient was 0.968. For radial height, it was 0.768 and 0.868, respectively. Conclusions: The deep learning-based algorithm demonstrated excellent segmentation of the distal radius and ulna in AP and lateral radiographs of the wrist with distal radius fractures and afforded automatic measurements of radiologic parameters.

넓이 개념은 수학의 발생 초기에 형성된 중요한 개념의 하나이며, 역사적으로 넓이를 구하는 문제들이 새로운 수학 연구의 중요한 시발점이 된 경우도 많았다. 본 연구에서는 중등학교 수학교과서에서 다루는 삼각형의 넓이 공식을 다양한 방법으로 변형시켜, 삼각형의 몇몇 요소들(변들 각들, 중선들, 둘레, 외접원의 반지름)로 구성된 새로운 넓이 공식을 유도하여 제시하였다. 본 연구에서 제시된 몇몇 공식들은 과학고등학교 R&E 프로그램의 진행 과정에서 얻어졌다. 본 연구를 통해 얻어진 결과들은 고등학교 수준의 수학 영재교육에서 수학적 발명을 지향하는 교수-학습 과정에 활용될 수 있을 것으로 기대된다. In this paper we study formulae of the triangle`s area. We solve problems related with making new formulae of the triangle`s area. These formulae is consisted of some elements of triangle, for example side, angle, median, perimeter, radius of circumcircle. We transform formulae S= 1/2 acsinB, S= abc/4R, s = (p-a )(p-b) (p-c)(1/2), and make new formulae of the triangle`s area. Some formulas are received in the process of Research and Education program in the science high school. We expect that our results will be used in the Research and Education program in the science high school.

The lesions of neutrophilic dermatosis (pustular vasculitis) of the dorsal hands clinically resembled those of Sweet`s syndrome and showed similar histologic evidence of a dense dermal neutrophilic infiltrate. We, herein, present a case of neutrophilic dermatosis of the dorsal hands in a 70-year-old woman with bacterial endocarditis. The patient presented with hemorrhagic pustular blisters on the dorsal hands. Histopathologic findings were pseudoepitheliomatous hyperplasia, intraepidermal pustules, histiocytic infiltration and a few perivascular neutrophilic infiltrations. The skin lesion improved spontaneously.(Korean J Dermaton 2003;41(10) : 1351~1353)
