Purpose: We investigated complications after laparoscopic sentinel basin dissection (SBD) for patients with gastric cancer who were enrolled in a quality control study, prior to the phase III trial of sentinel lymph node navigation surgery (SNNS). Materials and Methods: We analyzed prospective data from a Korean multicenter prerequisite quality control trial of laparoscopic SBD for gastric cancer and assessed procedure-related and surgical complications. All complications were classified according to the Clavien-Dindo Classification (CDC) system and were compared with the results of the previously published SNNS trial. Results: Among the 108 eligible patients who were enrolled in the quality control trial, 8 (7.4%) experienced complications during the early postoperative period. One patient with gastric resection-related duodenal stump leakage recovered after percutaneous drainage (grade IIIa in CDC). The other postoperative complications were mild and patients recovered with supportive care. No complications were directly related to the laparoscopic SBD procedure or tracer usage, and there were no mortalities. The laparoscopic SBD complication rates and patterns that were observed in this study were comparable to those of a previously reported trial. Conclusions: The results of our prospective, multicenter quality control trial demonstrate that laparoscopic SBD is a safe procedure during SNNS for gastric cancer.

Wei-An Yao,Xiao-Chuan Li,Gui-Rong Yu 국제구조공학회 2006 Structural Engineering and Mechanics, An Int'l Jou Vol.22 No.1
This paper presents a virtual boundary element-equivalent collocation method (VBEM) for the plane magnetoelectroelastic solids, which is based on the fundamental solutions of the plane magnetoelectroelastic solids and the basic idea of the virtual boundary element method for elasticity. Besides all the advantages of the conventional boundary element method (BEM) over domain discretization methods, this method avoids the computation of singular integral on the boundary by introducing the virtual boundary. In the end, several numerical examples are performed to demonstrate the performance of this method, and the results show that they agree well with the exact solutions. So the method is one of the efficient numerical methods used to analyze megnatoelectroelastic solids.

Background EAU is an inflammatory disease usually characterized by autoinflammation and autoimmunity and is aggravated by excessive generation of ROS. Conventional hormone therapy often has more adverse effects. It is urgent to find a therapeutic drug with higher efficiency and fewer adverse effects. Methods We developed an Fe-curcumin nanozyme in which natural antioxidants coordinate with Fe3+ to form nanoparticles with excellent solubility for directing anti-inflammatory and ROS scavenging effects to treat EAU. Several experiments were used to detect the characteristics of nanozymes. EAU model rats were used to detect the abilities of decreasing autoinflammation and autoimmunity. PBMCs were used to detect the ability to inhibit cell proliferation. Results Free radical scavenging experiments showed that nanozymes decreased the level of free radicals at low concentrations. In vitro and in vivo experiments revealed that the group treated with Fe-curcumin nanozymes had lower inflammatory reactions and ROS levels than the control group, as reflected by the downregulated levels of several critical inflammatory cytokines, such as IFN-γ, IL-17, and TNF-α; decreased H2O2 release; inhibited proliferation of Th1 and Th17 cells; and alleviated pathological changes in the eye. Importantly, the Fe-curcumin nanozyme was detected in the retina using Prussian blue staining. Additionally, Fe-curcumin nanozyme is noncytotoxic when directing these biological activities. Conclusion This study has demonstrated the feasibility of using the Fe-curcumin nanozyme as a nanodrug to inhibit inflammatory reactions and scavenge ROS in the treatment of EAU, indicating that it may serve as a promising therapeutic agent in clinical treatment.

Objective: Endometrial hyperplasia is a condition in which the endometrial lining of the uterus becomes abnormally thickened and the endometrial glands proliferate with a subsequent increase in the gland-to stroma ratio. It is clinically important as it can progress to endometrial carcinoma. Since abnormal uterine bleeding commonly occurs in adolescents and endometrial hyperplasia only affects a small portion of this population, clinicians should judge and make further diagnostic plans properly. Methods: We are to report two cases of adolescents, 14 and 15 years old, with heavy vaginal bleeding who were pathologically diagnosed with endometrial hyperplasia. Results: The first case was a 14-year-old girl with 8 months of heavy menstrual bleeding with severe dysmenorrhea. Her menarche started 4 years ago and body mass index was 30.59 kg/m2. From the pelvic ultrasound, endometrial thickness was 1.94cm that endometrial biopsy was done. She was diagnosed with endometrial hyperplasia without atypia and underwent progestin therapy. The second case was a 15-year-old girl who came to an emergency department with heavy, prolonged vaginal bleeding for 3 weeks. Her menarche started 3 years ago and body mass index was 20.57 kg/m2. Her serum hemoglobin was 6.7 g/dL and in trans-rectal ultrasonography, the endometrium was 2.39 cm with multiple tiny cysts. She underwent endometrial biopsy and the endometrial pathology finding was noted as hyperplasia without atypia in the background of endometrial polyp. Conclusion: The prevalence of endometrial hyperplasia in young adolescents is not high and it is not easy to evaluate in these adolescents. However, it is important to screen in this population as well if indicated. When an adolescent is suffering from heavy menstrual bleeding and is found to have a thickened endometrium from ultrasonography, endometrial biopsy could be considered to rule out endometrial hyperplasia with a clinician's judgement.

Reports of influenza A virus infections in dogs has received considerable attention from veterinarians, virologists, and epidemiologists. Interaction between influenza viral hemagglutinin and cell oligosaccharides containing sialic acid residues results in infection. Sialic acids have an α-2,3-linkage to the penultimate galactose in the avian influenza virus receptor and an α-2,6-linkage in the human receptor. To date, there are no detailed data on the tissue distribution or histological features of either type of sialic acid-linked influenza virus receptors in beagle dogs, which are common laboratory animals and pets. We conducted the current study to visualize the in situ tissue distribution of both sialic acid-linked influenza virus receptors in various organs of beagle dogs using Maackia amurensis lectin II and Sambucus nigra agglutinin. Both α-2,3- and α-2,6-sialic acid-linked receptors were detected in the endothelial cells of the respiratory tract and other organs. Endothelial cells of most gastrointestinal organs were negative for α-2,3-sialic acid-linked receptors in the dogs. Our results suggested that these canine organs may be affected by influenza virus infection. The findings from our study will also help evaluate the occurrence and development of influenza virus infections in dogs.

A novel ceramic Gas Electron Multiplier (GEM) has been developed to meet the demand of high counting rate for the neutron detection which is an alternative to 3He-based detector at China Spallation Neutron Source (CSNS). An experiment was performed to measure the neutron transmittance of ceramic-GEM and FR4-GEM at the small angle neutron scattering (SANS) instrument. The result showed the ceramic-GEM has higher transmittance and less self-scattering especially for cold neutrons. One single ceramic GEM could give a gain of 102-104 in the mixture gas of Ar and CO2 (90%:10%) and its energy resolution was about 27.7% by using 55Fe X ray of 5.9 keV. A prototype has been developed in order to investigate the performances of the ceramic GEM-based neutron detector. Several neutron beam tests, including detection efficiency, spatial resolution, two-dimensional imaging, and wavelength spectrum, were carried out at CSNS and China Mianyang Research Reactor (CMRR). The results show that the ceramic GEM-based neutron detector is a good candidate to measure the high intensity neutrons.

An, Cheng Tui,Hai, Zhang Xue,Gui, Liu Wan,Li, Xu Chuan 대한전자공학회 1992 HICEC:Harbin International Conference on Electroni Vol.1 No.1
Parallel match is one of the important content of parallel processing production system(PS). Based on the background of the development of knowledge-based machine(KBM), the parallel match problem of the PS is studied in this paper, so as to solve PS's match bottleneck in the KBM. Firstly, the feature of Transputer, OCCAM language, OPS5 PS and Rete algorithm are described, Secondly, the parallellism of OPS5 and the Rete algorithm are analysed. And then a new parallel matching scheme, which based on Rete network in multi Transputer, is pupposed. At last, the detailed implementation process of the Rete network matching based on the uni-Transputer is described.

Seven steps contain tracer injection at submucosa (step 1) and at four sites (step 2) by intraoperative esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGD), leakage of tracer (step 3), injection within 3 minutes (step 4), identification of at least one sentinel basin (SB) (step 5), evaluation of sentinel basin nodes (SBNs) by frozen biopsy (step 6), and identification of at least five SBNs at back table and frozen sections (step 7). </P><P><B>Results</B></P><P> Failure in step 7 (<I>n</I> = 23) was the most common followed by step 3 (<I>n</I> = 15) and step 6 (<I>n</I> = 13). We did not find any differences of clinicopathological factors between success and failure group in steps 1~6. In step 7, body mass index (BMI) was only the significant factor. The success rate was 97.1% in patients with BMI < 23 kg/m2 and 80.3% in those with BMI ≥ 23 kg/m2 (<I>P</I> = 0.028). </P><P><B>Conclusions</B></P><P> Lower BMI group showed higher success rate in step 7.
