MULTIFUNCTIONAL HYDROXYCAMPTOTHECIN-CAPPED Fe_3O_4 NANOPARTICLES FOR INHIBITING OF CANCER DRUG RESISTANCE

        GEN ZHANG,HUI JIANG,XUEMEI WANG 성균관대학교(자연과학캠퍼스) 성균나노과학기술원 2011 NANO Vol.6 No.6

In this study, we have explored the multifunctional hydroxycamptothecin (HCPT)-capped Fe_3O_4 nanoparticles efficiently targeting adriamycin-resistant K562 cells (KA cells), inducing apoptosis, making hole on KA cell membrane, photothermal therapy and low hemolysis activity. The HCPT functionalized Fe_3O_4 nanoparticles were characterized by the transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and high performance liquid chromatographic (HPLC) study. Meanwhile, the apoptotic staining and the DNA fragmentation clearly illustrate that the apoptosis rate apparently increased after the treatment with HCPT-capped Fe_3O_4 (HCPT-Fe_3O_4 ) nanoparticles, compared with that of the only HCPT treatment in KA cells. Moreover, our observations also demonstrate the possibility of the photothermal therapy to kill KA cells by using HCPT-Fe_3O_4 nanoparticles with semiconductor laser. In addition, the blood compatibility of the HCPT-Fe_3O_4 nanoparticles was tested by hemolysis assay on washing the isolated rat erythrocytes. The results indicate that HCPT-Fe_3O_4 nanoparticles did not cause aggregation behavior at lower concentration. Thus, it is evident that the HCPT functionalized Fe_3O_4 nanoparticles could readily induce cellular apoptosis and low hemolysis activity, which could be further utilized for the efficient multimode therapy of cancers.

        Zhang, Chun-Xing,Liang, Long,Zhang, Bin,Chen, Wen-Bo,Liu, Hong-Jun,Liu, Chun-Ling,Zhou, Zheng-Gen,Liang, Chang-Hong,Zhang, Shui-Xing Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2015 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.16 No.8

Background: This study was conducted to analyze positron emission tomography (PET) / computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) performance with oropharyngeal non-Hodgkin's lymphoma (ONHL).Materials and Methods: The complete image data of 30 ONHL cases were analyzed, all patients were performed PET / CT and MRI examination before the treatment, with the time interval of these two inspections not exceeding 14 days. The distribution, morphology, MRI signal characteristics, enhancement feature, standardized uptake value (SUV) max value and lymph node metastasis way of the lesions were analyzed. Results: Among the 30 cases, 23 cases were derived from the B-cell (76.7%), 5 cases were derived from the peripheral T cells (16.7%) and 2 cases were derived from the NK/T cells (6.7%). 19 cases exhibited the palatine tonsil involvement (63.3%). As for the lesion appearance, 10 cases appeared as mass, 8 cases were the diffused type and 12 cases were the mixed type. 25 cases exhibited the SUVmax value of PET / CT primary lesions as 11 or more (83.3%). MRI showed that all patients exhibited various degrees of parapharyngeal side-compressed narrowing, but MRI still exhibited the high-signal fat, and the oropharyngeal mucosa was intact. 25 cases were associated with the neck lymph node metastasis, among who 22 cases had no necrosis in the metastatic lymph nodes, while the rest 3 cases exhibited the central necrosis in the metastatic lymph nodes. Conclusions: PET / CT and MRI have important value in diagnosing and determining the lesion extent of ONHL.

      • Focus Improvement of High-Squint SAR Based on Azimuth Dependence of Quadratic Range Cell Migration Correction

        Zhang, Shuang-Xi,Xing, Meng-Dao,Xia, Xiang-Gen,Zhang, Lei,Guo, Rui,Bao, Zheng IEEE 2013 IEEE geoscience and remote sensing letters Vol.10 No.1

<P>In this letter, we discuss the problem that linear range cell walk correction in the azimuth time domain may cause space variation along the azimuth not only to the quadratic phase but also to the quadratic range cell migration (QRCM) under the conditions of high resolution and large scene along the azimuth. Moreover, an algorithm is proposed to deal with this problem. The proposed algorithm adopts the azimuth space variation filtering in the range frequency domain. In addition, the range-dependence component of QRCM is corrected by linear chirp scaling, and the unified QRCM can be corrected in the 2-D frequency domain. The proposed algorithm, without interpolation, can be easily implemented by integrating with motion compensation for image processing. Simulation and airborne strip-map real data show the accuracy and efficiency of the proposed algorithm.</P>

Genetic Diversity of a Chinese Native Chicken Breed, Bian Chicken, Based on Twenty-nine Microsatellite Markers

        Ding, Fu-Xiang,Zhang, Gen-Xi,Wang, Jin-Yu,Li, Yuan,Zhang, Li-Jun,Wei, Yue,Wang, Hui-Hua,Zhang, Li,Hou, Qi-Rui Asian Australasian Association of Animal Productio 2010 Animal Bioscience Vol.23 No.2

The level of genetic differentiation and genetic structure in a Chinese native chicken breed, Bian chicken, and two controlled chicken populations (Jinghai chicken and Youxi chicken in China) were analysed based on 29 microsatellite markers. A total of 166 distinct alleles were observed across the 3 breeds, and 32 of these alleles (19.3%) were unique to only 1 breed. Bian chicken carried the largest number of private alleles at 15 (46.9%), followed by the Jinghai chicken with 12 private alleles (37.5%). The average polymorphism information content (0.5168) and the average expected heterozygote frequency (0.5750) of the Bian chicken were the highest, and those of the Jinghai chicken were 0.4915 and 0.5505, respectively, which were the lowest. Among 29 microsatellite loci, there were 15 highly informative loci in Bian chicken, and the other 14 were reasonably informative loci. The highly informative loci in Jinghai chicken and Youxi chicken were 17 and 14 respectively. Significant deviations from the Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium were observed at several locus-breed combinations, showing a deficit of heterozygotes in many cases. As a whole, genetic differentiation among the breeds estimated by the fixation index (Fst) were at 6.7% (p<0.001). The heterozygote deficit within population (Fis) was 22.2% (p<0.001), with the highest (0.249) in Bian chicken and lowest (0.159) in Youxi chicken. These results serve as an initial step in the plan for genetic characterization and conservation of the Chinese chicken genetic resource of Bian, as well as Jinghai and Youxi chickens.

      • Analytical study on cable shape and its lateral and vertical sags for earth-anchored suspension bridges with spatial cables

        Gen-min Tiana,Wen-ming Zhang,Jia-qi Chang,Zhao Liu 국제구조공학회 2023 Structural Engineering and Mechanics, An Int'l Jou Vol.87 No.3

Spatial cable systems can provide more transverse stiffness and torsional stiffness without sacrificing the vertical bearing capacity compared with conventional vertical cable systems, which is quite lucrative for long-span earth-anchored suspension bridges’ development. Higher economy highlights the importance of refined form-finding analysis. Meanwhile, the internal connection between the lateral and vertical sags has not yet been specified. Given this, an analytic algorithm of formfinding for the earth-anchored suspension bridge with spatial cables is proposed in this paper. Through the geometric compatibility condition and mechanical equilibrium condition, the expressions for cable segment, the recurrence relationship between catenary parameters and control equations of spatial cable are established. Additionally, the nonlinear general reduced gradient method is introduced into fast and high-precision numerical analysis. Furthermore, the analytic expression of the lateral and vertical sags is deduced and discussed. This is very significant for the space design above the bridge deck and the optimization of the sag-to-span ratio in the preliminary design stage of the bridge. Finally, the proposed method is verified with the aid of two examples, one being an operational self-anchored suspension bridge (with spatial cables and a 260 m main span), and the other being an earth-anchored suspension bridge under design (with spatial cables and a 500 m main span). The necessity of an iterative calculation for hanger tensions on earth-anchored suspension bridges is confirmed. It is further concluded that the main cable and their connected hangers are in very close inclined planes.

<P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>In real manufacturing systems there are many combinatorial optimization problems (COP) imposing on more complex issues with multiple objectives. However it is very difficult for solving the intractable COP problems by the traditional approaches because of NP-hard problems. For developing effective and efficient algorithms that are in a sense “good,” <I>i.e.</I>, whose computational time is small as within 3min, we have to consider three issues: quality of solution, computational time and effectiveness of the nondominated solutions for multiobjective optimization problem (MOP).</P> <P>In this paper, we focus on recent <I>hybrid evolutionary algorithms</I> (HEA) to solve a variety of single or multiobjective scheduling problems in manufacturing systems to get a best solution with a smaller computational time. Percutaneous Sacroplasty for Sacral Metastatic Tumors Under Fluoroscopic Guidance Only

        Ji Zhang,Chun-gen Wu,Yi-feng Gu,Ming-hua Li 대한영상의학회 2008 Korean Journal of Radiology Vol.9 No.6

Percutaneous sacroplasty is a safe and effective procedure for sacral insufficient fractures under CT or fluoroscopic guidance; although, few reports exist about sacral metastatic tumors. We designed a pilot study to treat intractable pain caused by a sacral metastatic tumor with sacroplasty. A 62-year-old man and a 38-year-old woman with medically intractable pain due to metastatic tumors of S1 from lymphoma and lung cancer, respectively, underwent percutaneous sacroplasty. Over the course of the follow-up period, the two patients experienced substantial and immediate pain relief that persisted over a 3-month and beyond. The woman had deposition of PMMA (polymethyl methacrylate) in the needle track, but did not experience significant symptoms. No other peri-procedural complications were observed for either patient.

Formula for the Total Stopping Power from 2 keV to 10 keV for a Metal

Ai-Gen Xie,Min Lai,Chen-Yi Zhang 한국물리학회 2013 THE JOURNAL OF THE KOREAN PHYSICAL SOCIETY Vol.62 No.1

On the basis of the range-energy relationship, the relationships (L2−10) among the total stopping power from 2 keV to 10 keV for a metal (S2−10), the energy exponent (n2−10), the primary energy at the surface (Wp0), and the parameter (A2−10) were deduced. In addition, the relationships (L10−30) among the total stopping power from 10 keV to 30 keV for a metal (S10−30), the energy exponent (n10−30), Wp0 and the parameter (A10−30) were obtained. According to some relationships between the parameters of the secondary electron yield from 2 keV to 10 keV for a metal (δ2−10), the composition of the secondary electron yield from 10 keV to 30 keV for a metal (δ10−30), L2−10, and L10−30, the universal formula for expressing S2−10 as a function of S10−30, δ2−10, δ10−30, the backscattered coefficient (η) from 2 keV to 10 keV, η from 10 keV to 30 keV and Wp0 was deduced. The S2−10 calculated from this universal formula and the S2−10 measured experimentally were compared, and we conclude that the formula presented in this paper is universal for S2−10.
