Temperature is an important environmental factor controlling plant growth, development, and immune response. However, the role of temperature in plant disease resistance is still elusive. In the present study, the potential effects of temperature on the interaction between Nicotiana tabacum and Cucumber mosaic virus (CMV) were investigated. Our results indicated that N. tabacum plants displayed severe symptoms at early stage of post inoculation at high temperature (HT, 28°C), associated with higher viral replication level, more serious stress damages. By contrast, low temperature (LT, 18°C) effectively delayed the replication of CMV compared with elevated temperatures. Additionally, quantitative real-time PCR analyses revealed that lower temperatures (≤ 24°C) promote salicylic acid (SA) dependent responses, whereas higher temperatures (> 24°C) activate the genes expression of jasmonic acid (JA) pathway. Interestingly, the dark green islands (DGIs) appeared much earlier in CMV-inoculated plants grown at HT compared with those at LT and the accumulation of virus small interfering RNAs in plants were significantly up-regulated under elevated temperatures at early stage of post inoculation. Taken together, these results indicated that temperature changes had important effects on plant defence response, and different temperatures could induce different immune pathways of N. tabacum against CMV infection.

This study designs a control of two-degree of freedom lower limb rehabilitation robot (LLRR) for the patient who needs the proper physical therapy after a spinal cord injury (SCI), stroke, or a surgical operation. The robot manipulator can perform specified passive exercises as well as copy exercise motions and perform them without the physiotherapist. Specifically, the uncertainties including the model uncertainty, initial condition deviation and the external disturbance are also considered. Firstly, a unilateral man-robot dynamical model is proposed based on Lagrange method. Then, we propose a Lyapunov based robust control to suppress the effect of uncertainties. The control algorithm consists of a PD feedback component and a piecewise function component. Theoretical analysis is provided to demonstrate that the controller can guarantee the uniform boundedness and uniform ultimate boundedness of the system. Moreover, the joint angle trajectory of a healthy person is explicitly obtained by the experimental platform and used as the pre-specified trajectory of the LLRR. Finally, numerical simulation is presented to illustrate the effectiveness and the trajectory-tracking control performance of the control.

The 0.55Pb(Ni1/3Nb2/3)O3-0.05PbHfO3-0.4PbTiO3/Ni0.875Zn0.125Fe2O4 (PNNHT/NZF) 0e3 particulate composite ceramics were prepared by the conventional solid-state reaction method via introducing the nano-sized WO3 and CuO sintering aids by the self-combustion method. Due to the introducing of nanosized sintering aids, densified PNNHT/NZF composite ceramics are synthesized sintered at low sintering temperature. Furthermore, the nano-sized sintering aids act effectively as blocking layers, leading to compact composite ceramics with homogenously dispersed and isolated microstructure morphology, inhibiting inter-phase diffusion, avoiding interfacial chemical reaction, and achieving strong inter-phase coupling. Therefore, the synthesized PNNHT/NZF composite ceramics exhibit enhanced magnetoelectric properties.

The n-ZnO:Ga/p-GaN:Mg and n-ZnO:Ga/i-ZnO/p-GaN:Mg heterojunction light emitting diodes (LEDs) were fabricated by the pulsed laser deposition (PLD) technique. The blue electroluminescence (EL) of the n-ZnO:Ga/ p-GaN:Mg heterojunction LEDs is emitted mainly from the p-GaN layer instead of the n-ZnO:Ga layer, for the reason that the electron injection from n-ZnO:Ga prevailed over the hole injection from p-GaN:Mg due to the higher carrier concentration and carrier mobility in n-ZnO:Ga. On the other hand, the n-ZnO:Ga/i-ZnO/p- GaN:Mg heterojunction LEDs exhibited dominant ultraviolet-blue emission. The reason for this difference is attributed to the inserted undoped i-ZnO layer between n-ZnO:Ga and p-GaN:Mg, in which the holes from p- GaN:Mg and the electrons from n-ZnO:Ga are recombined.

Purpose: Data comparing the long-term efficacy and safety of subcutaneous immunotherapy (SCIT) using house dust mite (HDM) in children and adults with allergic rhinitis (AR) are limited. This study aimed to compare the long-term effects of HDM-SCIT in a cohort of Chinese pediatric and adult patients with AR. Methods: A total of 124 pediatric and adult AR patients received HDM-SCIT for 3 years, with 118 patients being followed-up for 2 years. Prior to treatment (baseline), at the end of the 3-year treatment periods (third year) and 2 years after the discontinuation of treatment (fifth year), all patients were evaluated for total nasal symptom scores (TNSS), daily medication score (DMS), total combined score (TCS; symptoms [nasal + ocular] + DMS) and quality of life (QoL). Safety was assessed according to adverse events reported. Results: After 3-year treatment, HDM-SCIT significantly improved symptoms and QoL scores at the end of the third and fifth years in both groups. Better improvements were observed in the third and fifth years based on baseline, in children compared to adults (TNSSΔ3: 6.66 vs. 5.41, P = 0.011; TCSΔ3: 4.30 vs. 3.83, P = 0.027 and TNSSΔ5: 6.16 vs. 4.86, P = 0.037; TCSΔ5: 4.11 vs. 3.62, P = 0.044).Shorter duration of AR history before SCIT (<10 vs. ≥10 years) resulted in better improvements at the end of the third and fifth years (TCSΔ3: 4.12 vs. 3.13, P = 0.036; TCSΔ5: 3.90 vs. 3.09, P = 0.033). HDM-SCIT was safe and comparable in both children and adults with AR. Conclusions: Children with AR may achieve better long-term efficacy of HDM-SCIT than adults with AR.
MODEL-BASED CONTROL OF SYNCHRONIZER SHIFTING PROCESS FOR TRAJECTORY TRACKING CONTROL
Yan Zhang,Han Zhao,Mingming Qiu,Feifei Qin,Bingzhan Zhang 한국자동차공학회 2020 International journal of automotive technology Vol.21 No.4
A novel approach of the tracking control for synchronizer displacement is introduced in this paper. Based on modeling for the structure of synchronizer and shifting process, a shifting displacement tracking controller is designed by the Udwadia - Kalaba equation. The engagement rule of synchronizer combination sleeve is regarded as the trajectory constraint of the system, certain constraint force is imposed to follow this trajectory constraint, which could be obtained by the Udwadia- Kalaba equation without using Lagrange multiplier or other auxiliary variables. Specific comparative study with conventional PID control is discussed. Simulations and vehicle test results show that the shifting actuator can accurately track the desired trajectory determined by the upper layer control strategy, thus verify the effectiveness of the controller.

Qingshan Li,Lichun Zhang,Fengzhou Zhao,Caifeng Wang,Feifei Wang,Ruizhi Huang 대한금속·재료학회 2015 ELECTRONIC MATERIALS LETTERS Vol.11 No.4
We demonstrate an efficient ultraviolet (UV) photodetector operating at room temperature based on n-ZnO nanorods/i-ZnO/p-GaN heterojunctions. We employ x-ray diffraction and field-emission scanning electron microscopy to confirm the high quality of the ZnO nanorods using an undoped ZnO film as the interlayer. Then, we investigate the photoelectric properties of the fabricated photodetector with UV light illumination under a different reverse bias. Based on the current-voltage curve, the photocurrent to dark current ratio is approximately 73.3 at −4 V. At zerobias voltage, the peak responsivity was 138.9 mA/W at 362 nm under front-illumination conditions. Time-varying measurements indicate the reproducibility and stability of the heterojunction photodetector.
