The concept of universal design has become an essential requirement for environmental design especially in commercial facilities. However, studies on the universal design of commercial facilities are not properly made out so far. The purpose of this study is to analyze existing research trends on universal design of commercial facilities and to provide basic data for the future study. For this study, the concept of commercial facilities’ universal design was defined based on related legislations. Contents analysis has been utilized using journal articles, theses, etc. which were published in Korea. The results and conclusions are as follows. Researches on universal design of commercial facilities were not actively executed, and UD guidelines and standards for commercial facilities were not appropriate for the purpose. It is required to develop more detailed guidelines for universal design for selective applications on commercial facilities depending on the size and characteristics. Also it is necessary to evaluate and analyze universal design of diverse commercial facilities in further studies.

입원환자의 프라이버시와 스트레스가 병실 만족도에 미치는 영향

This study proposes the structural model of inpatient"s satisfaction with their room. Relationship among patients" privacy, patients" stress, and patients" satisfaction were evaluated and were discussed. Survey research followed the literature review, in which the subjects answered questions of the 12 items for the patients" privacy requirements, 10 items selected from the HSRS, and an item of patients" satisfaction. A total of 120 copies were analyzed through the statistical process using the SPSS Win Program 20.0 and SEM by the AMOS 20.0. Results and conclusions are as follows: (1) the inpatients" privacy requirements was subdivided into "the reserve factor", "the territoriality factor", and "the solitude factor". (2) The inpatients" stress level was subdivided into "the relationship factor", "the unfamiliarity factor", and "the control factor". (3) The model of relationship among the subjects" privacy requirements, stress level and their satisfaction with the patients" room showed that the subjects’ stress level affected their satisfaction with the patients’ room directly and the subjects’ privacy requirements gave an direct and indirect effect on their’ stress level and an indirect effect on their satisfaction with patients’ room.

Recently, worldwide endeavors are devoted to overcome the environmental contamination, global warming and petroleum depletion. The research and development of the eco-friendly vehicle is the one of active fields in the Industry-University-Institute Collaboration. Among the many kinds of eco-friendly vehicles, the electric vehicle is regarded as the most practical solution; however, it still has problems with its battery such weight, price and life cycle. Also, charging time, limited driving range and construction of the charging infrastructures cannot be satisfied with customers’ conveniences. OLEV<SUP>®</SUP> (On-Line Electric Vehicle) is the new concept of EV which can charge power with highly efficient pick-up device from buried power line. Based on the non-contact charging from the power line, OLEV<SUP>®</SUP> is referred as the innovative EV system to cope with the battery capacity and energy density. In this paper, OLEV<SUP>®</SUP> tram and OLEV<SUP>®</SUP> bus are introduced which have been developed by KAIST(Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology).

사용자 중심 일반병실계획 기준에 관한 연구

The goals of healthcare design based on the human rights to manage physically, psychologically, and emotionally healthy life. The healthcare design, however, have been criticized not to reflect their primary users, patients` and families` needs, under the management strategy centered by the functional efficiency. The study focused on the patients` room design on the users` perspective. The design criteria for the patients` room in Japan, Germany, Australia, U.S. and Korea were examined and compared. The subjects of analysis are the floor plans of general hospital recently planned and built in Korea and Japan and the standard floor plan models proposed by prior studies in Korea and AusHFG in Australia. Results and conclusions are as follows: (1) the patients room has developed as a place where the users manage their living during inpatient period and has become a private room. (2) The guidelines for patients` room size in Korea and Japan are not enough considering the users` diverse activities compare those in U.S. and Australia. (3) The guidelines of Korea should be reconsidered for the users` comfortable lives. It must include the specific criteria of the enough space between beds, the storages, and other assistant tools and facilities. (4) The desirable types of patients` rooms by the numbers of users in Korea are proposed as a one-bed room type and a four-bed room type.

The concept of universal design has become an essential requirement for environmental design, due to the growing population of the aged, and the increasing needs of people with disabilities. This study aims to propose a universal design guideline for apartment housing units that can be adapted to both a general household and a household with elderly or disabled individuals. This design process encompasses literary reviews, and includes the measurements of the dimensions and facilities of currently available apartment housing. The three domestic universal guidelines were reviewed, and a universal design checklist for apartment housing units was developed. Afterward, the individual elements and inclusive factors of universal design, for apartment housing units, were collected and examined according to the each functional space within the home. The results and conclusions are as follows: 1) The factors of universal design are diversified by the division of the functional spaces within the home, such as the private space, the work space and the entertaining space. 2) Due to the lack of space and storage, wheelchairs cannot be used in most currently available apartment types; this problem can be resolved by applying flexibility and optional adaptation. The solutions for the above are additional design factors that will enable more convenient usage and elaborate design.

This study compared emotional responses to color combinations in the 60s group to those in the younger groups(20s, 40s) in order to develop simple and accurate measuring tools. With increasing elderly population, aging vision is a factor that considerably impacts color visualization. The environment surrounding us stimulates our vision not only through visualizing one color separately but also through visualizing color combinations composed of more than two colors. This study focused on subjects’ emotional responses to a long wavelength color (R) and short wavelength color (PB) combinations. Twelve living room images were constructed using a computer graphic program. The rooms were two monochromatic color combinations, two analogous color combinations and two complementary color combinations in 200 lx and 500 lx. The images were presented through a 23-inch LED monitor. The subjects responded to the sensitivity vocabulary by semantic differential (SD) scales, while watching the images in a room with the natural light blocked. A total of 90 questionnaires were analyzed by SPSS 18.0. Major findings as follows: 1) When comparing each of the color images by SD scale responses, 60s showed significant differences compared to 20s and 40s in color emotion. 2) When comparing in 500 lx color combination images, there was no significant differences between each group. This study found the characteristics of people’s emotional responses to color combinations. This study will provide one basic data on color psychology research and directions of color design by analyzing the color emotion difference of color combinations according to age.

한식의 스토리텔링이 고객만족 및 고객행동에 미치는 영향에 있어 관여도의 조절효과

이야기를 전달한다는 것, 이른바 스토리텔링 기법이 최근 마케팅을 중심으로 여러 매체의 주목을 받고 있다. 최근 한식재단은 비빔밥과 불고기를 비롯한 290여 종류의 한식에 대해 흥미롭고 다양한 ``한식메뉴 스토리텔링``을 제시했다. 스토리텔링은 고객 만족 및 고객행동의 과정의 여러 단계에서 활용 가능하지만, 본 연구에서는 한식에서의 스토리텔링의 활용, 특히 관여도에 따른 고객만족의 효과 및 고객의 행동인 재방문의도 및 구전의도 대해 살펴보고자 한다. 따라서 한식의 스토리텔링이 고객만족과 그 만족이 고객행동에 어떤 영향을 미치는지 알아보고, 외식산업에서의 스토리텔링에 대한 바람직한 활용방안을 제시하고자 한다. 한식 스토리텔링에 나타난 변수들은 흥미성, 고유성, 교육성, 일관성, 묘사성으로 꼽았고, 이러한 선행 요인들이 고객만족 및 고객행동에 대한 영향력에 대한 관계를 제시하였다. 실증 분석으로 나타난 이론적인 모형에서 각각의 변수들이 고객만족과 고객행동에 영향을 주고 있으며, 이들 요인들과 고객만족사이에서 관여도가 조절효과를 보이고 있는 것으로 나타나 일반적인 수준으로써 구성개념과 모형에 적합하다고 분석되었다. 본 연구의 시사점은 이론적 측면에서 선행요인인 흥미성, 고유성, 교육성, 일관성, 묘사성을 제시하였고 이를 정립하였다. 또한 실용적 측면에서는 스토리텔링을 통하여 한식의 활성화를 추구할 수 있으며, 한식을 세계화 시킬 수 있는 상품을 만들 수 있을 것이다. Storytelling has attracted increasing media attention as it has increasingly been a significant part of marketing strategies. Therefore, focusing on Korean food users, this study examines causal relationships between storytelling, customer satisfaction, and customer behavior and moderating effect of involvement on the relationship between storytelling and customer satisfaction. The findings of the study is as followed: First, four dimensions of stroytelling, namely Interest, Education, Consistency, and Delineation, positively influences customer satisfaction, while one dimension, Uniqueness, does not significantly affect customer satisfaction. Second, customer satisfaction positively influences two dimensions of customer behavior, such as revisit intentions and Word of Mouth. Third, involvement has moderating effect on the relationships between four dimensions of storytelling (Uniqueness, Education, Consistency, Delineation) and customer satisfaction, while it does not significantly moderates the relationship between Interest and customer satisfaction. These results indicate that storytelling plays an important role in increasing customer satisfaction and positive customer behaviors. Therefore, it is suggested that to globally promote Korean food, storytelling can be a key strategy.

HVAC System Power Consumption and Temperature Control Algorithm For OLEV<SUP>®</SUP> Application

In recent years, electrical vehicles (EVs) have been in the limelight as one of the green technologies that could be the key solution to global energy depletion and green house effects. In order to overcome the most common issues when it comes to EV introduction, mostly related to batteries, KAIST introduced the new concept of electric charging technology-applied vehicle, called OLEV<SUP>®</SUP> (On-Line Electric Vehicle). The key of this technology is that it enables EV to be charged whether it is in motion or at a stop by utilizing the inductive power transmission principal. In this paper, control algorithm of HVAC system for OLEV<SUP>®</SUP> is introduced. The main purpose of this algorithm is to control the amount of power consumed by HVAC system down to 20% and 25% of the suppliable power in case of cooling and heating respectively while maintaining the desired room temperature. This particular power management is necessary because the capability of meeting the customers’ expectations on driving distance and still have other functions work as conventional cars do with the minimum amount of charging time is the key to successful EV introduction We developed a proper set of dynamic models and control algorithms for HVAC (Heating Ventilation Air-Conditioning) system linked to gether with OLEV<SUP>®</SUP> system operation. Based on the operation conditions of OLEV<SUP>®</SUP>, the advanced control algorithm is applied considering several key parameters such as power being supplied from the road, battery SOC (state of charge), power consumptions from each component of OLEV<SUP>®</SUP> and room temperature. This control algorithm aims for HVAC system to maintain the driver’s desired room temperature while consuming only 20% and 25% of the suppliable power for cooling and heating respectively.

학교 현장 중심의 학교공간혁신사업을 위한 개선방안 - 강원도교육청 학교 감성화사업을 중심으로 -

본 연구는 교육부에서 2019년부터 국가수준에서 추진하고 있는 학교공간혁신사업의 학교 현장의 효과적인 운영을 위한 방안을 제시하기 위하여 대표적인 시도교육청 사업 중 하나인 강원도교육청의 학교 감성화 사업을 분석하였다. 2장에서는 학교 감성화사업의 추진프로세스와 단계별 주요 추진주체를 분석하였다. 3장에서는 단계별 주요 참여자들 대상의 면담조사를 통하여 주요 문제점들을 도출하였다. 마지막으로 4장에서는 사업설명회 실효성 증대, 퍼실리테이터 역량 강화, 가이드라인 개발 등 문제점들을 해결하기 위한 포괄적인 방안들을 제시하였다. 본 연구의 결과가 향후 지속적으로 추진되는 학교공간혁신사업을 학교 현장에서 효과적으로 추진하기 위한 정책 대안으로 활용되어 보다 학교 현장에 부합하는 혁신적인 학교 공간이 만들어지길 기대한다. The objective of this research is to propose the policy alternatives which can assist schools to effectively carry out the School Space Innovation Project (SSIP) of the Ministry of Education. The Emotional Space Project (ESP) of Gangwon-do School District was analyzed as one of representative SSIPs. Chapter II analyzed the project process and stakeholders involved in the ESP. Chapter III carried out the interview with the representative stakeholders that had participated in each step. The interview described the major problems ESP and SSIP have. Finally, Chapter IV proposed the comprehensive alternatives to deal with the problems, such as improving the effectiveness of project information sessions, strengthening the competencies of facilitators, and developing guidelines. It is expected that the research alternatives can be applied for developing innovative school spaces more suited to school scenes as well as helping effective operation of SSIP in schools.
