Fishborne zoonotic metacercariae have not been reported from brackish water and marine fish from Vietnam waters although these parasites are common in the country's freshwater fish. Both wild-caught and cultured grouper (Epinephelus coioides and Epinephelus bleekeri), and mullet (Mugil cephalus) from brackish and marine waters located in Khanh Hoa province in central coastal Vietnam were examined, and found positive for zoonotic trematode metacercariae. From grouper, Heterophyopsis continua and Procerovum varium were recovered. The prevalence of H. continua ranged from 2.0 to 6.0% and that for P. varium ranged from 11.6 to 15.8%. Mullet were infected with Pygidiopsis summa and H. continua; both of these species are new records for Vietnam. The prevalence of P. summa in mullet was generally high, ranging from 17.6 to 75.5%, and was significantly higher than the prevalence of H. continua (2.5 to 32.4%). There were no significant differences in the prevalence of metacercariae between grouper from natural or cultured habitats, indicating that the highest risk of infection occurs in the wild-caught state prior to their placement in culture. Further, there was no difference in metacercarial prevalence between the 2 species of grouper. Infected wild-caught seed were only observed from January to October. Monthly variation in prevalence suggests seasonal variation in mullet infections occurs in this region with the highest transmission taking place from October to December. Basic investigations on the ecology and epidemiology of these intestinal flukes need to be carried out to determine their significance as a public health problem and the aspects of their biology that may be vulnerable to control interventions.
PAPR reduction using PTS with low computational complexity in coherent optical OFDM systems

<P>In optical communication systems for single-carrier transmission based on orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM), high power signals result in fiber nonlinear effects such as self-phase modulation (SPM), which causes inter-symbol interference (ISI) between sub-carriers. To reduce peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR) at a transmitter of the optical OFDM system, a partial transmit sequence (PTS) technique can be applied, but it requires reduced computational complexity for practical implementation because the complexity in an optimum search over all combination of phase factors is exponentially increased with the number of sub-blocks. In this paper, a PTS method with low computational complexity is proposed by modifying an artificial bee colony (ABC) algorithm, which is an approach based on solution sets to solve combinatorial and numerical optimization problems. The effectiveness of the proposed method is confirmed by simulation results of complementary cumulative distribution function (CCDF) and BER in a coherent optical OFDM (CO-OFDM) system.</P>

스토리지 클래스 메모리(Storage Class Memory; SCM)는 비휘발성 속성과 바이트 단위의 임의접근이 가능한 속성을 동시에 보유하고 있는 차세대 메모리 기술이다. 지금까지 많은 SCM 관련 연구들은 SCM 활용 측면에서 성능 신뢰성 고집적도 그리고 에너지 절감 중심으로 이루어져왔다. 이와는 다르게 본 연구는 하이브리드 SCM-DRAM 메인 메모리에서 어플리케이션의 메인 메모리 할당 즉 SCM과 DRAM의 할당을 최적화하여 성능 신뢰성 집적도 그리고 에너지 절감이 시스템 전체적으로 최적이 될 수 있는 방법 연구이다. 본 논문에서는 최적의 성능을 가질 수 있는 SCM과 DRAM의 할당 방법만을 제시한다.
Design of a High Accuracy 3-Axis Coordinate Measuring Machine Working on the Shop Floor

<P>One of the key features of advanced manufacturing technologies is the metrology of geometric quantities. Coordinate measuring machines (CMMs) now are widely used to perform relevant measurements. Normally, the use of CMMs in traditional quality control rooms, isolated from the production floor, often proves unsuitable for effective and timely feedback on the manufacturing process. However, CMMs are sensitive to environmental factors such as humidity, suspended dust and oil, vibrations, and especially temperature. For this reason, measuring machines must to be designed with features that make them more resistant to the environmental influences on shop floor operations. The main goal of this work is to enhance accuracy of a CMM working on the shop floor conditions by design improvements and error compensation. A 3-axis CMM will be built with some improved designed features and a software compensation technique will be applied to enhance the machine accuracy.</P>

In this study, the effect of glutamate decarboxylase from Pyrococcus horikoshii on gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) production was investigated in Escherichia coli for the first time. E. coli with overexpressed P. horikoshii glutamate decarboxylase was cultured at various pH levels and temperatures to determine the optimum conditions for GABA production. The highest final GABA concentration, 5.07 g/L, was obtained from 10 g/L of monosodium glutamate (MSG) with a GABA yield of 83% at $30^{\circ}C$ and pH 3.5. When P. horikoshii glutamate decarboxylase was introduced into a GABA aminotransferase knock-out E. coli XBT strains, 5.69 g/L of GABA was produced with a GABA yield of 93%.

Although the introduction of stem cell transplantation and novel agents has improvedsurvival, multiple myeloma (MM) is still difficult to cure. Alternative approaches areclearly needed to prolong the survival of patients with MM. Dendritic cell (DC) therapyis a very promising tool immunologically in MM. We developed a method to generatepotent DCs with increased Th1 polarization and migration ability for inducing strongmyeloma-specific cytotoxic T lymphocytes. In this review, we discuss how the efficacyof cancer immunotherapy using DCs can be improved in MM.

In this paper, a nonlinear controller based on adaptive sliding-mode method which has a sliding surface vector including new boundizing function is proposed and applied to a two-wheeled welding mobile robot (WMR). This controller makes the welding point of WMR achieve tracking a reference point which is moving on a smooth curved welding path with a desired constant velocity. The mobile robot is considered in view of a kinematic model and a dynamic model in Cartesian coordinates. The proposed controller can overcome uncertainties and external disturbances by adaptive sliding-mode technique. To design the controller, the tracking error vector is defined, and then the sliding surface vector including new boundizing function and the adaptation laws are chosen to guarantee that the error vector converges to zero asymptotically. The stability of the dynamic system is shown through the Lyapunov method. In addition, a simple way of measuring the enol'S by potentiometers is introduced. The simulations and experimental results are shown to prove the effectiveness of the proposed controller.

Purpose: This paper evaluates which characteristics of marketing communication content distributed on social networks impact electronic word-of-mouth (e-WOM). Research design, data, and methodology: Quantitative research was carried out on 637 Vietnamese people aged from 18, who were exposed to marketing communication programs of fashion brands. Preliminary data were analyzed by the reliability of the scale, multivariate regression analysis, and analysis of variance. Results: The research findings have identified the four characteristics of social media content that positively impact e-WOM, including entertainment, interaction, trendiness, and customization. Participants aged 30 and under have a higher appreciation for media content and e-WOM than those from 31 and over. Conclusion: To promote e-WOM, marketing communication content distributed on social networks should focus on the following characteristics: (1) The entertainment of marketing communication content should involve positive emotions, fun, and enjoyment; (2) With interactive content, focus should be placed on discussion and exchange content, content that encourages sharing, and two-way interactive content; (3) For trending marketing communication content, marketers consider communicating brand-related latest information, up-to-date information, and hot discussion topics; and (4) When creating customized content, brands should be interesting, customized (information, product, price), and unique.
