Determinants of Vietnam’s Outward Direct Investment: In Cambodia Case

This paper focuses on the determinants of Vietnam’s FDI abroad. The authors used the mixed research methods: qualitative - quantitative combinations. The authors conducted qualitative research interviewing 6 experts as the managers have a important role in the decision to invest directly abroad for their business and quantitative research by multiple regression methods studying samples consisting of 248 enterprises. Research results indicate that two groups of factors that both Pull factors and Push factors to impact Vietnam’s FDI abroad. Two groups of factors that the authors withdraw into 4 groups of factors that impact the Vietnam’s FDI abroad including: (1) Culture-Geography, (2) Infrastructure, (3) The macro-economic and market and (4) Investment relating regulation and policy.

The study aims to evaluate the impact of corporate social responsibility on customers’ repurchase intention in Vietnam’s fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) industry. This study employs primary data surveyed from 417 Vietnamese consumers, and the sample is selected based on the willingness to participate in providing information. The results show corporate social responsibility’s positive impact on repurchase intention in the FMCG industry in the Vietnam market. There are three components of corporate social responsibility, including ethical responsibility, legal responsibility, and economic responsibility have a positive impact on repurchase intention. The economic responsibility component has the greatest effect on repurchase intention. There is not enough statistical basis for the philanthropic responsibility component of corporate social responsibility to recognize its impact on repurchase intention. The findings of this study suggest that companies dealing in the FMCG industry in Vietnam need to invest more in further developing their corporate social responsibility, it not only helps to improve their customer loyalty to businesses but also contributes to promoting the country’s economic and social development in a better and more sustainable direction.
Salmonella Type Ⅲ Secretion System을 이용한 단백질 분비시스템 개발

New protein secretion system was developed using Type Ⅲ Secretion System of Salmonella. N-terminal region of SlrP and SptP effector proteins were fused with TliA and EstA-P lipases by overlapping PCR. Lipase activity of Salmonella with SptP-TliA fusion system increased by 2.6 fold compare with wild type Salmonella strain. This result showed that lipase secretion via the T3SS would be a useful protein secretion machinery. 단백질을 동물세포내부로 직접 주입할 수 있는 살모넬라 균주의 T3SS를 활용하여 모델 단백질인 lipase를 세포외부 로 분비하는 시스템을 제작하였다. T3SS의 effector 단백질 인 SlrP, SptP의 N-말단부분과 lipase를 fusion하였다. 단백질을 동물세포내부로 직접 주입할 수 있는 살모넬라 균주의 T3SS를 활용하여 모델 단백질인 lipase를 세포외부로 분비하는 시스템을 제작하였다. T3SS의 effector 단백질인 SlrP, SptP의 N-말단부분과 lipase를 fusion하였다. Cassava starch production is a key industrial production of Tay Ninh province, Vietnam. However, this production chain has also caused many negative impacts on the environment. This study applied the principles of circular economy to analyze the waste streams via linear programming method for cassava starch circular production chain towards zero waste emission. The results show that the cassava starch indutry can achieve the goals of zero electricity, zero waste, and zero fossil energy by re-planning the production chain. The chain’s output products are 517.5 tons of bio-oil/year, 206.7 thousand tons of biochar/year, 190.0 thousand tons of dry pulp/year, 10 million m³/year of liquid fertilizer. In order to increase further the value of the chain in the circular economy, future research needs to study the feasibility of a solution to reuse wastewater to produce microalgae, as well as evaluate the effectiveness of these methods. The optimization method applied in this study can also be extended to similar agricultural chains properties such as rice processing, sugar cane, etc.
A research on students’ readiness for Education 4.0 program

Nowadays, in Vietnam, the government tends to have a great concern to the 4th Industrial Revolution, and Education 4.0 is also a matter to be paid attention to. In order to implement Education 4.0, besides technology and social, people are an important factor involved in the development of the education 4.0. The purpose of the study is to find out the factors affecting student readiness for education 4.0. The proposed model consists of 8 independent factors: Internet self-efficacy, Online communication self-efficacy, Self-regulation, Creativity, Self-discovery, Upgrade, Collaboration, Attitude and 1 dependent factor namely Readiness. Based on 361 samples, this quantitative research was conducted: reliability testing, exploratory factor analysis, correlation coefficients and linear regression. The result shows that there are four key factors affecting readiness including Self-regulation, Creativity, Upgrade and Attitude. The result of t-test shows that the group of students who had experienced online learning had higher readiness for the education 4.0 than the others.
Line Impedance Estimation Based Adaptive Droop Control Method for Parallel Inverters

This paper presents a new load sharing control for use between paralleled three-phase inverters in an islanded microgrid based on the online line impedance estimation by the use of a Kalman filter. In this study, the mismatch of power sharing when the line impedance changes due to temperature, frequency, significant differences in line parameters and the requirements of the Plug-and-Play mode for inverters connected to a microgrid has been solved. In addition, this paper also presents a new droop control method working with the line impedance that is different from the traditional droop algorithm when the line impedance is assumed to be pure resistance or pure inductance. In this paper, the line impedance estimation for parallel inverters uses the minimum square method combined with a Kalman filter. In addition, the secondary control loops are designed to restore the voltage amplitude and frequency of a microgrid by using a combined nominal value SOGI-PLL with a generalized integral block and phase lock loop to monitor the exact voltage magnitude and frequency phase at the PCC. A control model has been simulated in Matlab/Simulink with three voltage source inverters connected in parallel for different ratios of power sharing. The simulation results demonstrate the accuracy of the proposed control method.
Recombinant protein secretion via the type III secretion system

The type III secretion system (T3SS) is a mechanism by which bacteria export proteins from the cytoplasm,through the membranes, to the extracellular environment. T3SS is made up of more than 20 different proteins, about half of which maintain conserved sequences. This review summarizes the features of this novel apparatus and discusses the potential of utilizing T3SS to export recombinant proteins into the external environment, and the impact this system will have on protein production technology.
재조합 Escherichia coli를 이용한 gamma-Aminobutyric Acid 전환 반응 최적화

In this study, the effects of pH, temperature, IPTG concentration and substrate (MSG) concentration on gammaaminobutyric acid (GABA) production in engineered Escherichia coli were investigated. Glutamate decarboxylase and glutamate/GABA antiporter were overexpressed in GABA aminotransferase knock-out strain for GABA production. The result of optimization study showed the GABA bioconversion was optimized at pH 3.5, 30℃, 0.5 mM IPTG, 10 g/L MSG. At this condition, 5.23 g/L of final GABA concentration of was achieved from 10 g/L of MSG, which corresponded to a GABA yield of 85.77%.
