The Spiritual Care Guide in HospiceㆍPalliative Care is evidence-based and focuses on the universal and integral aspects of human spirituality—such as meaning and purpose, interconnectedness, and transcendence—which go beyond any specific religion. This guide was crafted to improve the spiritual well-being of adult patients aged 19 and older, as well as their families, who are receiving end-of-life care. The provision of spiritual care in hospice and palliative settings aims to assist patients and their families in finding life’s meaning and purpose, restoring love and relationships, and helping them come to terms with death while maintaining hope. It is recommended that spiritual needs and the interventions provided are periodically reassessed and evaluated, with the findings recorded. Additionally, hospice and palliative care teams are encouraged to pursue ongoing education and training in spiritual care. Although challenges exist in universally applying this guide across all hospice and palliative care organizations in Korea—due to varying resources and the specific environments of medical institutions—it is significant that the Korean Society for Hospice and Palliative Care has introduced a spiritual care guide poised to enhance the spiritual well-being and quality of care for hospice and palliative care patients.
A New Version of the Plasma Database for Plasma Physics in the Data Center for Plasma Properties

Bulk and surface chemistry database (DB) are necessary to compute plasma parameters using plasma simulators. As the high quality of the DB is closely related to the accuracy enhancement of simulations, we attempted to gather reliable data from previously published articles. However, previous systems could not accommodate various types of information such as electron collision cross sections, rate coefficients of heavy particle reactions, sticking coefficients on the surfaces, and thermodynamic data. Therefore, we developed a new version of the DB system to provide plasma data for researchers in related fields; this new DB system is designed to retrieve data such as electron collision cross sections, rate coefficient, and thermodynamics data. About 35,000 collision cross sections and 74,000 rate coefficients for 90 chemical species and thermodynamic data for 55 chemicals are provided in the numerical and graphical forms in this DB system.
탈묵펄프용 표백약품에 따른 표백 특성 및 표백폐수의 환경부하 영향

DIP(deinked pulp) was bleached by FAS, Na₂S₂O₄ and H₂O₂, which are widely used in DIP bleaching process, in order to improve optical properties of DIP, and the bleaching efficiencies of DIP and environmental loads of waste water were compared, depending on bleaching chemical dosages. With the application of different bleaching chemicals, some positive improvements were shown in optical and physical properties of bleached pulp. However, the physical properties of bleached DIP and their characteristics of wastewater were remarkably different, depending on dosages and bleaching reagents. DIP chemicals with FAS and Na₂S₂O₄ have higher improvement in optical and physical properties than H2O2. Also, environmental loads such as pH, turbidity, SCODcr and cationic demand were decreased in reductive bleaching process. Despite of higher effectiveness of reductive bleaching process, there were some environmental problems caused by sulfur ions from FAS and Na₂S₂O₄. With the method of sulfur ion controls, it would be more effective than H₂O₂ bleaching process.

Background: This study aimed to investigate the effect of a forest healing program on psychological and physiological changes in employees exposed to work-related stress. Methods: This study included 38 employees whose workplaces were located in Naju and Jeonnam. They were given a set of forest healing programs. They completed self-rating scales to assess changes in anxiety, depression, and workrelated stress. Salivary cortisol levels, electroencephalography changes, and photoplethysmography components were also assessed. The mean differences in these parameters before and after treatment were analyzed. Results: The mean ages of male and female employees were different (p<0.010). After controlling for age as a covariate, all variables were examined for main and sex-associated effects using two-way repeated measures analysis of variance. Although the mean changes in saliva cortisol levels were significantly lower after treatment, the sex-associated and interaction effects were found to be insignificant. Conclusion: Although the short-term forest healing program did not provide notable results, it may have beneficial effects on certain psychological and physiological aspects. Further studies are warranted to determine the feasibility of the forest healing program as a suitable stress management strategy for employees
Streptomycin과 Validamycin A에 대한 Xanthomonas Campestris의 항생제 감수성 평가

Xanthomonas campestris가 일으키는 고추 점무늬병은 주로 잎에서 발생하고, 병반은 황색띠를 형성한 후 확대되어 잎 전체에서 황화되고 조기 낙엽을 유도한다. 우리나라에서는 노지재배인 경우 주로 7-8월경에 자주 발생하며, 감염된 고추의 30%까지 손실을 초래하는 것으로 알려져 있다. 점무늬병의 발병초기에는 streptomycin에 의한 방제가 가능하지만, 최근 저항성 균 발생이 증가하여 방제효과가 낮아지는 문제가 자주 발생하고 있다. 이에 따라, 농업용 항생제로 등록되어 있는 validamycin A와 streptomycin에 대한 X. campestris의 감수성을 평가하고자 하였다. 시험균주는 KACC에서 분양받아 보관중인 균주를 사용하였으며, LB broth 배지에서 배양시험하였다. Validamycin A와 streptomycin은 순도 95%이상인 물질을 구매하여 DMSO에 녹여 사용하였다. Streptomycin은 12.5 mg/L에서 최소저해농도가 확인되었으며, validamycin A는 >500 mg/L이상이었다. 따라서, X. campestris는 streptomycin에 대한 감수성이 확인된 반면, validamycin A에 대해서는 저항성임을 확인하였다.
